Chapter 11 of the novel describes a very unhappy and possibly physically abused version of the ML so I'm thinking he has/has a weird relationship with his own family. Maybe he's illegitimate?

Possibilities so far: The artist guy Su Ah? did it or more likely saw the murders happen. The ML actually did kill them. Very low chance of that. I know it was plot driven, but the way they railroaded the male lead in the beginning was ridiculous. Where was his lawyer? Even in court I don't think he had a lawyer. Weird.
