and then the peppermint killer ends up being the kid in the backseat of the car that hit su young's mum—the accident being his trigger. because dramas loooove past connections. lol.
Love thisss! Some tropes are still there, but dramas have definitely come a long way. I especially appreciate the care and thought that went into exceptionally well-written shows centred on a group of women—i.e. Avengers Social Club, WWW, Be Melodramatic—who, individually, have their own quirks and struggles. I find it so cringe-y when a film or show obviously just cast a bunch of famous women as leads in the name of "female empowerment" without putting much effort into it.
i don't think i'll ever be "brave" enough to confront a killer (and recount what they did in detail) all by myself once, let alone 3948392849383094839 times.
i don't think they would but i'd rather have it go that route tbh than have to endure 2-4 episodes of the amnesia…
I just meant when they use it mid-story to add further conflict right when the leads’ relationship is getting somewhere. I have no issue with Yi Young’s lapses in memory from the trauma as this was established from the beginning. And I don’t actually want either one of them to die, just to clarify.
I am glad to see that a lot of others are just as interested in the mystery as I am.
I now look forward to people's comments / theories here after every episode. Helps me digest what I've just watched as it always leaves me with more questions than answers! So in a way, this is like a support group :))
I love this drama so much. Its been a while i have been invested in the story of a drama so much. And reading…
Really enjoyed reading your theory! Cause the biggest mystery to me is the fact that someone of great influence died and his own father is covering up his death.
it's interesting to see people's reaction to this, I feel no thriller or suspense here. the fan theories have…
Lol I love your comment about the fan theories having more suspense :)) it's so true! I find myself coming straight to this thread after watching every episode because I always feel it leaves me with more questions than answers.
The foundation seems to favour people of influence/children of people with influence regardless of their skill level, and the higher-ups have no issue using people with more modest backgrounds (albeit v. talented) to do their dirty work, i.e. the violinist. This makes me wonder why Kim Ian was killed when 1) he was filthy rich, and 2) he was also talented. His dad even goes on to say that he can shut down the foundation if and whenever he wanted to. So why hasn’t he? Why let the murder be covered up like that?
And maybe it’s the conspiracist in me, but I find it so weird that Yi Young has been involved in not one but TWO significant “car accidents” in her short life.
This show may have already revealed some of the major puzzle pieces but I srsly still can’t figure out how they all fit ????
Women like Tami have different reasons for not getting married. Their success and education changed their priorities…
I agree. And personally, even if at the end of the drama she says she doesn't want to get married for no particular reason other than just not wanting to get married, I can respect that. I think this is why people get frustrated with her because they just can't understand this way of thinking and perhaps even view it as some frivolous conflict the writers added in just to prolong the suspense. To say that I don't get frustrated at all watching them is a lie. I mean, who doesn't want a happy ending, but this "happy ending" doesn't mean the same thing for everybody irl. I love that this drama actually included these atypical and "inconvenient" opinions because there are people who don't share the same beliefs, and it's about time they were represented in a show.
Had zero expectations watching this drama because I'm not a fan of office/business dramas where there is always an exhausting power struggle among the leads, but this is definitely an exception. The animosity between and among the women is done so cleverly (and stylishly, I might add) that I never find myself cringing or skipping scenes. Scarlett is also hands down my favourite (the actress is the reason I even bothered trying this drama), but I do love all the women in this show—even the bad ones. Dare I say, I've never been so intrigued rather than repulsed by a conniving mother-in-law character until now.
