I'm surprised so many people like Dae Oh. I find him so annoying. He is such a manchild. I hated that scene where…
I've always liked him the least but never dared say it out loud because I know I'm in the minority :)) It's okay, though. I think he's the dad and I like him as the dad. I just don't like him as a love interest. While I agree with a comment here saying that he seems to be the only one who isn't deliberately hiding something from AJ, I don't like his approach. I find him a little pushy and immature (putting it out there that the female lead has some issues as well). I also enjoy watching the other 3 more—the gangster especially! I just hope they're given enough screen time to flesh out their stories and that they don't end up being merely side dishes to the main course.
I have nothing but love for this drama and all its actors. The story literally keeps me up at night and is so well-written. Naturally I wanted to share this gem with my drama friends, but I didn't know how to describe it to them. Tried to compare it with shows and movies that have similar themes and/or vibes (e.g. Time Traveller's Wife, Wicker Park) so they could picture it better. Then I realised I was selling it short because it's just not the same! There really is nothing quite like it. At least none that has been so wonderfully executed.
I also just want to say how taken I was by the actress, Alice. She made me believe her portrayal of both characters at various timelines. She felt like a different person every single time (episode 12 especially was a rollercoaster ride of emotions for me because I found myself having difficulty understanding and sympathising with her after basically rooting for her throughout 1-11). The male leads and all the other actors were amazing as well! I found myself heartbroken for, frustrated with and creeped out by them. All these made my first Taiwanese drama such an unforgettable experience.
She appears to know the writer from high school because she pulled out her yearbook wondering if she was recognizable…
Omg I just finished watching episode 6 too! That scene with Dae Oh at the party was so satisfying. I was saying, "Serves you right, woman!" to her the whole time. Said it again when I saw her eavesdropping in the preview. Looks like she heard what she needed to hear but I don't think she's going to back off (or at least come to her senses) that easily. Ugh. On the bright side, I'm hella excited to watch Ryu Jin get on her nerves!!! Seems like he dislikes her just as much as we do—hopefully even more :))

I finally watched the episode, and yes, it's probably too early to tell for sure but based on her actions and her manager's comment ("everything about you is fake"), *I* think they may go down the mean girl route. I hope they do surprise us though! Those kinds of characters have been overdone, imo. Plus, with all the baby daddy drama and her accumulating debt, there's already plenty of conflict to go around. Then again, this is a drama (about a love triangle/square no less—another theme that's been done so many times), so what did I expect! Lol. Thank you for engaging :)
She was already "horrible" to a little kid- under her breath, anyway, as she had to play for cameras- she took…
I happen to see the preview for episode 6 on YouTube prior to watching episode 5 and saw the part where she asks DO if AJ had to be a part of the movie and I was triggered. Lol. That's why I had to ask first so thank you for this :))
Can someone please spoil Joo Ah Rin’s role in all this? Hesitant to watch this week’s episodes if she’s going to be that stereotypical conniving, jealous second lead female with a one-sided thing for one of the guys. I wouldn’t mind so much if she weren’t mean tho, lol.
Goddamn, rated 9.1? I hope the score is not as inflated as the other cdramas.
I've seen a few Chinese dramas previously with high ratings so I know what you mean. I'm only half way through this one (my first Taiwanese drama!) but it is living up to its rating so far. I'm so happy I discovered it randomly on the page of To All the Boys Who Loved Me because it is such a gem.
Standing by my theories from last week—Oh Dae Oh is the dad and Ryu Jin was somehow involved in their misunderstanding; and I am also still rooting for Pa Do and Yeon Woo (though she probably won't end up with either one lol). Just can't figure out who Ryu Jin actually likes though! I think he probably said, "The one that got away," in reference to Ae Jung while stuck in the bathroom, but I've been confused (and keeping an open mind) ever since I read SimbiAni's thoughts last week. It makes for a good twist :))
I don't get why the ML needed to sabotage the FL and have her fired. His offer was really strong. I doubt she…
could not agree more! i was intrigued by their concept of remembering past lives, that's why i was so excited to watch this show. but no matter how desperate he is to be with the same person, i can't get behind romanticising what is downright manipulative and stalker-y. hope it ends there too, though i won't be surprised if similar plotlines happen later involving other characters.
LOL well first I was thinking it'd just be some cute "a girl wants to find someone to keep her mom company" kind…
I was thinking the same thing about the breakup! The whole thing was so angsty but just so weird. It didn't seem like they purposely hurt each other based on the flashbacks and yet that's what each of them thinks. So I was starting to wonder if someone (namely Ryu Jin) got in between them out of envy. His reactions about the two reuniting and when Ae Jung was put on the spot sorta felt like there was some kind of guilt there. Curious to see how the Ah Rin character plays into all this. I hope she's not the stereotypical villainess out to get Ae Jung bec of a one-sided love for one of the guys. Tbh I find Ae Jung's current situation plenty stressful even without a bitchy second female lead.
