Seri's schemes have backfired so much that she has to pretend to be an English "tutu" to be around her biological son. Even then she didn't fill out the resume and tried to bribe her way for an "interview" 😭 I feel bad for Jiho (can his bio dad please save him...) but Seri absolutely deserves to feel the pain of being separated from her son. Like Jaein said, this is only the beginning.
Tomorrow's preview looks exciting... We are entering the final stage of the revenge. I'm curious about who the YouTuber is, or who is that woman with the purple skirt who approached Seri. What weapon is Jayoung going to give Yunhee? And of course, if Sookja will take what Giman is saying seriously...
Started rewatching this again (peep my icon) I'm on the part where nino makes an appearance so early on. I haven't made it past episode 50 (last attempted to watch this during 2019) so I'm hoping to finish it this time around...
Random thoughts I have as of episode 24:
Kangjae is absolutely tweaking and for his sake I hope he grows up. Even tho Aeri is the villain I am 10000% on her side when it comes to this - she doesn't owe Kangjae marriage and honestly, I wouldn't want to marry a man like Kangjae either... the entitlement the Gus think they have over Aeri makes it very hard for me to side with them on this ... a broken clock is right once a day they say.
I actually like Aeri as a villain because she's so brazenly shameless. (Kim Seohyung is so pretty even when she's screaming lmao) You know, when I first watched this, I knew this drama was going to be something else during that scene where Gyobin tricks Eunjae into meeting him at a cafe, but she forgets her wallet. She comes back home to see Aeri and Gyobin sitting on their bed, and Aeri starts making out with him... Fight breaks out (Aeri: Oh I'm sorry, I forgot this was your bed.), and then the next thing you know Eunjae is on the ground because she's actually pregnant (no one knew) and is at risk of losing the baby and needs to be rushed to the ER lol. All of this happens in 5 minutes 😭
Gyobin is a clown. I am looking forward to the inevitable faceoff he will have with Gunwoo for the company. I do like Byun Woomin's performance... he makes it work. Kim Soon-ok is actually very good at casting for her dramas tbh.
Sohee's crush on Gunwoo has always creeped me out 😅 cultural differences I guess but here in the US, if you're adopted it's considered bad form to date your siblings. I do feel bad for Gunwoo because he keeps getting caught in awkward situations and now his mom thinks he's leading her on. Geumwoo's hairstyle also makes me nostalgic, because I got into K-pop/k-dramas in 2009, so that hairstyle was verrrrry popular amongst male celebrities. Throwback!!
I love Haneul and Hajo's relationship. Actually I love Oh Youngshil in general so I actually like Haneul when usually the mentally handicapped characters annoy me because theyre usually written to be obnoxious. i read a spoiler on namuwiki about their relationship and I'm SO CURIOUS to see how it plays out in the story.. this spoiler has quite the implications!
Admittedly I started watching this again because I was currently watching and am about to finish Game of Witches and Jang Seohee plays the lead there as well. I don't really have much to say about Eunjae rn because I'm still in the part of the story where she's getting treated like crap by Aeri and Gyobin... Jang Seohee's character in Game of Witches is pretty much an incarnate of revenge. So I'm excited to see Eunjae's transformation into the revenge incarnate... very much so because this was the highest rated sbs makjang for a reason!

On Samsung phones they DO have a function where you can access the emergency healthcare features without unlocking the phone! All you do is hold the side button and it'll come up - similar to the emergency call features on phones, you don't have to unlock it to do that
Although in the case of Jayoung she probably wouldn't show the app - the hospital already knows her so they'd pull her existing charts. I could see that app being helpful in a scenarios like a diabetic who is having a hypoglycemic/hyperglycemic episode or it could help someone who has dysarthria/can't communicate. If she had literally any other profession it probably wouldn't bother me as much but she was a DOCTOR 😭
On a positive note - the medical records/"beep in an emergency" app that Jaein showed Jayoung was probably one of the better examples of PPL in a drama - that app will probably help a lot of people. I might be getting ahead of myself here but that scene may not JUST be PPL and may be foreshadowing for a future event... Seri has proven multiple times that she has no problem taking advantage of Jayoung's illness to hurt Jaein...

First of all this is definitely going on my "daily dramas I would watch again" list. Now is it perfect? I'll circle back to that question when I finish this drama, but this is pretty close if you ask me!
This is a drama with SO many twists, scheming and manipulation... it reminds me a bit of the HBO show Succession if it was in the daily drama format. (I also wouldn't recommend this show if you don't like daily/melodrama/revenge makjangs.) If you want your drama characters to be nice and friendly towards each other, this is NOT the drama for you 🤣 this is not a makjang for the weak, absolutely not! Even the secretaries stab each other in the back and switch sides freely
The short version of this drama: two mothers are getting revenge against a conglomerate who ruined their family. In doing so they use other people as pawns ... but the pawns decide they want the conglomerate too and they link up. What happens next? You get a game of witches, baby!
