Alright. So... the curtains have closed. We've finally reached the end of this wild, twisted soap opera. You know,…
Great comments. I gave this an 8.5 so we're in the same boat

I found it funny how I had put this drama on the back burner for a woman that swallowed the sun because I thought it wasn't going to be as good. In reality once the drama picked up (when Geumja shows up) I completely ended up neglecting it lol

Park Yoonjae really did a good job. I remember him when I (briefly) watched vengeance of the bride and he was kind of awkward in there but I'm glad he hit his stride. Crazy enough I found him attractive as a villain 🤣 his final arc felt disingenuous to me but I took all that back after he revised his will and gave Jaein his USB

(I laughed at "you're not going to heaven" because he's definitely not!!)

I also appreciated Seri as a 2FL because it's been a while since we've had a truly inherently evil 2FL. Snow White's Revenge had Juryun and Cinderella Game had Seyoung but they were both acting on their mother's influence. Jacqueline Taylor (iconic legend) from elegant empire had an excellent redemption arc. But nope, Seri was out for herself and herself only. For me villains make the story so I loved to see it.

A strong daily and I can't wait to see what Monday brings. KBS2 keep the hits coming!

The Promise was awesome. I liked Meant to Be too!
Meant to be was awesome!!! Chihwan was a fun villain and Haein had one of the best post revenge glow ups in a drama ever. She was NOT PLAYING with that man 😭

(And on a lighter note I love how the MLs family adopted her as one of their own!)

AAAAND that's a wrap!!

Gichan recording his testimony and giving the USB to Jaein in his final moments... And made her the beneficiary. Like he said last episode, Jaein showed a level of care for him he wasn't used to seeing. Glad he put his money where his mouth is

Also I have to laugh at how he appointed Jaein as Nara and Giman's legal guardian just so Sookja wouldn't use the insurance money. Giman going to live in a care facility is probably the best option, and I think Nara having to prove herself for the money is fair enough. I've said it before and I'll say it again but I don't think Nara is irredeemable and she didn't actually commit any crimes. In fact I think her stepping away from Sookja and studying abroad shows she's ready for change.

Not Seri getting served capital punishment but I can't think of a more fitting end for her - a redemption arc wouldn't fit at all. I also am glad she didn't kill herself (my og prediction) because I wanted her to be punished lol I'm laughing at her being the prison lackey and the "chair" 🤣

Giman's end kind of made me sad in a sense but not really. We all know Sookja is trash but to abandon your mentally incapacitated son in front of his ex wife's store is... once again I'm glad that Yookyung didn't take the bait and called Jaein. Now he can get the help and supervison he needs i suppose. Sookja becoming homeless is pretty funny (and ironic)

Jaein and Doyun end up sharing a kiss after a 1 year time skip so I guess it's assumed they get back together? Meh. I wasn't expecting they get married but they could've gotten a stronger ending. We were forced to watch a love triangle that ended with a phone call from the US lol. While I don't watch my makjangs for romance this could've been written better

Either way, this was a strong daily. Had it's weak spots in some places (the aforementioned love triangle with Taeoh being the most recent example) but it's still ending up on my daily dramas I would rewatch list. This drama is written by the same writer who wrote Gold Mask (which I made it to episode 65 but didn't finish, one of the main characters + the SIL were so obnoxious i had to stop) it's like the screenwriter learned from their mistakes with queen's house. Case in point: none of the characters come as close as annoying as Hong Jina or Misook. The gag scenes did not feel out of place nor did they take me out the drama. That in itself is worth it's weight in gold for me...

I'll definitely be watching this writer's next work lol

Fun fact: this is the first time Lee Garyeong and Park Yoonjae played villains I honestly hope to see them in more villainous roles. They did a fantastic job. I am a new fan of Seo Joonyoung now as well. And Eunjung... I've been a fan of hers since T-ARA debuted and once she started acting in dailies I had hoped she ended up in revenge makjang... I'm SO glad it was Queen's House.

8.5/10 for me. See you guys in the Graceful Liar comment section!

Yeah.... SR was ready to sit on the plane and leave Korea.... SR will not be asking for Ji Ho... bc Ji Ho is now…
Well here's hoping it's not Sookja!

I hate the love triangle tropes with a passion. I am not sure why the writers decided to turn a potential love…
Agree!!! there was definitely some missed potential with Taeoh and the real Catherine ... I really wish she would've showed up lol. (Could you imagine if the real Catherine would've came out while Jaein was exposing Gichan to the YL Group executives 😭) The revenge was put on the back burner for basically no reason

Very well said!!I like: illness doesn’t absolve evil!! (sorry if that wasn’t your exact quote)Because plenty…
To me it felt depressing ever since Gichan found out he has late stage stomach cancer. Park Yoonjae acted out the mixed emotions of someone with a terminal cancer dx very well

Speaking of cancer, I agree. I always hated the "illness/infertility as karma" trope (and doubly so since I started working in healthcare) for the reasons you stated

I feel like we'll definitely get a time skip where Patrick and Friends move into their new house (and possibly Doyun and Jaein get together) Gichan's death will have a devasting effect on Sookja and I want to see it and fully soak it in after watching her abuse Jaein and Yookyung for the first half of the drama

Honestly, knowing Seri, I wouldn't be surprised if she realized she hit Gichan and kept driving with the intention of leaving the country. I am glad I seem to be wrong regarding her where I thought she would kill herself when cornered like the 2FL did in Miss Montecristo did.

Whatever happens, I hope the end is strong. Writer-nim don't let us down!!!

Gi- chan's final moment captures the profound tragedy arc. His final , self- sacrificial act- using his "…
Park Yoonjae did a GREAT job in this role. I can't believe this is his first time playing a villain because he absolutely nailed it. from the evil deeds that angered us, to the end where he's regretting all his life choices (and of course, him sacrificing himself for Jaein)

The seal/stamp thing is stupid. You mean someone can just take that and change documents? No id verification or…
In real life that would require a notary but I guess we needed some last minute drama lol

It's the final day for us in the Queen's Court (before we head to the garden party of Graceful Liars on Monday)

I knew Gichan was going to die but not at the hands of Seri. I guess this will be what gets her locked up for life but damn she'll have to live with the fact that she killed her meal ticket. Sookja will probably go insane and get locked up in a mental hospital when she finds out. As for Gichan's "redemption", I like how Jaein is handling it. On a similar note, it doesn't seem like Yookyung isn't going to take Giman back either (shout out to Mr. Do because he explicitly told her not to!) . As they should: medical conditions don't absolve the patient of whatever wrongs they committed...

The life insurance scam is crazy work. Although I found it amusing Seri took that directly from Sookja's playbook and Sookja doesn't even realize . Gichan is evil, don't get me wrong but I definitely felt his frustration when he's dying yet still alive but his wife and mother only care about his life insurance. like at least pretend to care. At least wait until the man's body is cold before fighting over this ... Gichan's "even evil has standards" era comes off as disingenuous at times but he is bang on when he's calling Sookja out for being money hungry

But here's something interesting - at least in the states, if you die by your own hand, ESPECIALLY right after making a change in the beneficiary (thanks Seri 🤣) your life insurance policy will NOT be paid out. Assuming that SK is similar (which I would imagine due to the high suicide rate) , if gichan's death is ruled a suicide (since he DID run into traffic) no one will be inheriting that money.

I honestly feel like too much time was spent on this Doyun, Taeoh and Jaein love triangle (I found it boring because we all know Jaein and Taeoh were not going to end up together. That's why I stopped commenting for a while lol) and to me that's why it feels like the last episode was rushed (key tell: important things happening off screen such as the DNA testing of the blood on Seri's pants, Jaein just so happening to be around when Seri's burner phone rang or how fast the whole face to face interrogation became a thing.)

Even Taeoh reuniting with Jiho felt anticlimactic and unless I'm missing something, I'm surprised Seri didn't show up and try to fight when Gichan handed Jiho off to him. That being said I loved how Taeoh didn't serve Gichan the typical DNA test but rather court papers stating he's filing for custody 🤣 btw Taeoh slamming Sookja for demanding money for raising Jiho was EVERYTHING. I loved how you could see his calm rage when Sookja likened Jiho to a piece of rare art you could pay a premium for and I'm so glad he didn't take the bait

I'm gonna miss Patrick lol. I'm going to miss Team DH as a whole

Either way, we've made it. I'll watch episode 100 later when the subs are out.

I stumbled upon this drama on twitter... Through one of the many drama related accounts I follow. Apparently it's the first original K-drama to come out of Prime video. The plot is triggering my makjang detector and I became a fan of Park Minyoung due to Marry My Husband so I'm interested. Luckily for me I always get prime video in the fall because of Thursday night football (go lions 😭) so I'm definitely about to check this out over the weekend

I'm getting through this way faster than I thought I would. I'm on episode 11 and I am definitely planning to binge watch this over the weekend... just when I think I have it all figured out Kim Soon-ok throws another layer in there... I can't imagine the stress people felt watching this in real-time lol. But the one thing I AM sure about is that I am squarely on Team Matthew/Dohyuk. It's been a while since I've seen Lee Joon in something and I forgot just how good he is 😅

My favorite of the villains are Monet, Lahee (she's so ruthless) and Jinmo. Omg I loved Kim Soyeon's cameo here too. As someone who also watched penthouse it was amusing to see ...

PS: I've never seen a K-drama with such a high body count 💀 counting the island incident I think I'm nearing 40 deaths

Posters look nice and the plot summary has me like 👀 This would actually be the first daily I'll be watching that's of the "daughter gets revenge on the mother who abandoned her" variety, so I'm excited!!

Finished ep 3.. went into this drama with no expectations (really, I just needed a break from watching dailies) and now I'm obsessed lol. this is a drama full of terrible people doing terrible things ... and I love it. This is a Kim Soonok drama so I shouldn't be surprised lol she's my favorite writer for a reason...

Like a commenter below said, this is the mother of all makjangs. I only finished episode 3 but my head is spinning. The crazy thing is, I haven't even got to the revenge yet

Watching makjang dailies I'm used to the whole trope where the FL loses everything before getting revenge but the way the bobble incident truly plays out ... I'm actually speechless. It's actually insane how everything quickly spiraled out of control. But the set up of the seven villains and how they're all linked is *chef's kiss*

Dami is THE biggest victim in this drama ... besides her adoptive parents, no one really cares about her. Honestly, I cried during the flashback where they show dami their "heart scars". I just want the three of them to go back to living with each other happily 😭 they are such good parents

Monet is my favorite of the villains - after all it's thanks to her the story went from 0 to 100... I'd honestly peg her as the most dangerous person in the drama... I'm so curious to see how this ends up... I find it amusing that Lahee treats Monet more like a daughter when... You know...

Btw: Hwang Jungeum and Shin Eunkyung are at their absolute best here. I love the Tom & Jerry energy these two have in their scenes together! Even tho their characters are despicable, they are fun to watch
