I really enjoyed the drama for what it was, but ultimately, I dropped this drama because the main couple lack chemistry, which made their romance feel forced and unnatural. I *loved* the comedy interwoven into this drama, but since this drama *is* a romantic-comedy, I wanted something a bit more substantial. I didn't drop the drama because it was bad or anything, but simply because there are other dramas that I like more once I begin them and this is just one that I'm not itching to get back to.

As exciting and epic as the MVs make this drama look, it is truly cringey. The acting is okay, but the voice-overs are absolutely awful. The voice actress for the FMC is way too high pitched and her screams are NOT convincing, they're just annoying. Also, the CGI is poor - the wolves, ocean scenes, swimming, and fire, to name a few, were sooooo bad (the wolves were probably the worst so far). But what made me have to drop the drama was the horrific, choppy editing of the drama.
Essential scenes were completely cut out of the drama that were absolutely needed because they explained how characters got from point A to point B and/or transitioned scenes. Due to the horrifically choppy editing, I became super confused at least once an episode because I couldn't figure out what happened between scenes, making the overall experience unenjoyable.
Even though I really liked the story and chemistry between the 2 MCs, everything around them was a hot mess and the story and pacing around them was terrible. If they had just left the scenes alone, rather than cut so many, I would have tolerated the subpar quality with little complaint... Sad to say, I had to drop.

I FINALLY gave this drama a chance after many many MANY people recommended it to me and raved about it. And I'm dropping it after 10 episodes. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, I just don't really care about the characters, which I know, sounds really heartless. I see where each character is coming from and sympathize with each, but I'm not intrigued enough to continue watching. Maybe it's just that I don't really care for the robot theme? I don't find their romance particularly cute or heart-wrenching and it doesn't make me giddy. I just feel kinda bleh about it and more interesting things caught my attention so I'm moving on from this. The drama *is* humorous, but I don't get what all the hype is about.

So I picked up Arang and the Magistrate because so many people have recommended it and a lot of Youtube videos highly advertised how awesome it is, so I thought, why not give it a shot. Shin Min Ah and Lee Joon Gi were great in their roles and I enjoyed seeing them again. What I didn't like was how creepy/eerie the story line became starting around episode 4. On top of the unpleasant atmosphere of the drama, I also couldn't get past how slow the plot was progressing. In each episode, nothing really happened of substance and I didn't notice at first, but after pondering, I realized how much the drama dragged. The music was okay in the beginning, mostly went by unnoticed, but after we meet the *real* villain, the music becomes dramatic, loud, and overly eerie which only further deterred me. Since the drama wasn't sitting well with me, I went ahead and looked up a summary of the drama to find out the key plot points and I'm not really intrigued nor impressed with the "twist" because it was rather predictable. Even though I really wanted to like this one, this is a "drop" for me.

The trailer for this movie looks exciting and intense. But when you finally watch it, it's not as exciting as the trailer makes it look. It's definitely intense - you won't be able to fall asleep while watching, but it has lulls in the plot. Plot-wise, it's meant to depict the life of the last princess of Korea; as you'd expect, it's not a happy story. I might be able to argue it has a bittersweet ending, but not happy. There's nothing objectively wrong with the way the story unfolds, it's just not the kind of ending that I find enjoyment out of, so for me, it's not a higher rated movie.

You Make Me Dance is not my usual drama preference. But I really liked that one of the MMC's was a male ballerina, but not effeminate. And I liked that his romantic love interest was also a man who wasn't effeminate. They weren't overly masculine either. They were truly portrayed as people that could be you or me. I really liked that. Yeah, they had their own issues they had to overcome, but they weren't unrealistic or silly - something you could sincerely sympathize with. Their romance was sweet and innocent. The OST made it even more lovable as it was such a pleasing musical soundtrack to listen to! The only fault I can think about this drama is that it wasn't longer. I know it was supposed to be a short drama, but man! At the end of every episode I just needed more of each of those MMCs!

Overall "meh"

I'll be completely honest and say that I couldn't finish this movie. I was over half way through and essentially nothing happened. The plot CRAWLS. I wanted to like this movie, especially since So Ji Sub is so amazing in all the dramas I have seen him in, but this plot is just not for me. I can't say whether or not the ending was any better than the first half of the movie, but I can say that this is not a fast paced, action packed movie through and through. Overall, for me, this movie wasn't worth the time - sorrynotsorry. :P

Meh. I wasn't too terribly impressed by Devilish Joy. I liked the first half of the drama a lot, but the last 3 episodes just feel flat for me. The one year time jump in the final episode where the MCs are separated just annoyed me because it felt like a cop out. Don't get me wrong, I didn't *want* the MC to die, but at the same time, it doesn't make logical sense that he recovered all of a sudden and after a year of aggressive treatment is okay again. Like, what? I was coming to terms with him dying similarly to how the MC in Uncontrollably Fond died, but Devilish Joy was just too over the top. I don't think they should have made him yo-yo between dying and having a miracle recovery - they should have picked either him dying because there was no treatment OR chose to have him slowly got better over the course of the drama and, in that sense, defied all odds - a steady progress. So the ending really ruined it for me. It was not logical and it used too many convenient plot devices to satisfy hopeless romantics, rather than follow through in their intended plot.

I think a drama that did this story much better was Uncontrollably Fond, which is a melancholy romantic drama. SPOILER ALERT FOR UNCONTROLLABLY FOND::::: In Uncontrollably Fond, the MC dies in the end from inoperable terminal brain cancer, which you find out he has in the first episode. The writers don't change their tune half way through the series to decide to let him live. He has his romance while he's slowly dying and he passes away relatively peacefully in the arms of his lover. His lover moves on and it's sad but I really respect how the writers stuck to their guns and made a beautiful story even though the ending is so sad. I sobbed at the end. Please refer to my full review of Uncontrollably Fond if you're curious about it as a whole. :)

In regards to Devilish Joy, what really bothers me is that the writers wrote themselves into a corner (the MC *was* dying and there was no cure) and definitely had no logical way out of it, but then all of a sudden he makes a HUGE recovery and lives happily ever after. Personally, I think the male MC should have been recovering throughout the entire show and had a strong, healthy man for the ending, but that's not how the writers decided to take it. And for that reason alone, the drama suffered immensely.

I did like how the bad guys got what was coming to them, but I also don't think the extreme horribleness of his aunt and the exCEO matched up well with the overall tone of the drama. I feel like the aunt plotting to kill her own nephew was exceptionally morbid and the overall tone of the drama didn't seem to match how awful she was. Also, I still don't get why the exCEO of Joy framed Joy for the death of the actor...it wouldn't have been pinned on the exCEO so why mess up Joy's life? ... Personally, the bad guys were simply too dark for what this drama was trying to make viewers feel (in my opinion) and that made the struggle between good and bad messy and unsatisfying in the end.

The main leads *were* very cute. I really did enjoy their romance for what it was....although, they did NOT look good kissing each other. LMAO. (Also in my humble opinion! XD)

I'm really bashing on Devilish Joy which probably makes it seem like I didn't like anything about it, but I actually enjoyed parts of it (the first half was much stronger and more likable than the second half). For me personally, endings are really important to feel truly satisfied, so with this ending falling so flat, I was truly disappointed since I started out liking it so much.

My incredibly poor rating for this drama is mostly due to my dislike for how back and forth the male MC is with his behavior. He's so mean to the female MC but then so nice the her best friend. This extreme hot and cold behavior was so abrupt and uncalled for that I couldn't define it as anything other than being unrealistic and completely annoying and infuriating. I really went into She Was Pretty with high expectations, having watched many trailers and funny clips prior to starting it. I was hoping to enjoy the drama based on the high ratings and the promising clips. I was so disappointed that the male MC was such a horrible person toward the female MC. The reason why I dropped the drama was because I couldn't stomach knowing that the female MC would essentially end up with her ruthless bully. The atrocities of his behavior just couldn't be redeemed in my eyes. I knew that by the end of the drama, I wouldn't be happy for the female MC because his prior behaviors were a true indication of his poor character and therefore, no, I wouldn't want her to be "happy" with him. We are all entitled to be displeased by someone's work, but that gives you no right to treat them as inferior (which the male MC did multiple times, in front of others in a *professional* setting nonetheless). People can like this drama all they want because we're all entitled to our own opinions, but coming from someone who *has* been bullied, I cannot be moved by this kind of love story.

I didn't dislike this drama, really, I didn't. I actually found the sweet romance to be adorable to watch, but switching from sweet cute romantic comedy to dark murdering killer scenes was just too much for me to comfortably enjoy on my couch in the evening...And honestly, the bad guy was just frickin creepy...
When the scenes switched to the bad guy, I got such Criminal Minds vibes (that spooky thriller bad omen vibes) that I'd be too spooked to sleep comfortably. I'm a pretty big wimp though, so maybe my interpretation of how spooky and scary the bad guy was is just me...
BUT, something else I found jarring was how the romantic comedy was very slap-stick in nature, and then it would switch to the bad guy and it was very dark and scary....the abrupt switching between both extremes of those genre's just didn't smoothly blend and transition to be in one drama. I think if the bad guy scenes were less creepy and dark, I'd find the drama less unbalanced.
Overall, I did like the romantic comedy aspects, but inevitably, I dropped this drama because the scary scenes were just too outside my comfort zones for me to enjoy this drama in its entirety. You might find this drama fitting to your own preferences though, so I don't think it'd hurt to try starting and see if it's something you enjoy.

It's much darker than anticipated...

I have enjoyed the actress for the female MC in other dramas, so I decided to give this one a shot. After watching the first 2 (ridiculously long and violent) episodes, I decided this drama isn't for me. This drama is going down a dark path that I simply don't care to take. If you are someone who enjoyed Hwarang or Love in the Moonlight or Splash Splash Love for their lighter historical romance and politics, this drama is NOT for you in my opinion. Even Moon Lovers was better than this (still tragic, but overall better balanced and executed).

I was intrigued by this drama because the MVs were so intriguing, but after watching the first 2 episodes, I just wasn't feeling the story enough. I decided to look up some spoilers about how the story turns out in the end to decide if I wanted to dedicate all the time in watching the drama all the way through based on how the ending turns out. I'm so glad I looked into the spoilers because I am most DEFINITELY not happy with the ending (regardless of whether certain characters deserved their ending or not).
The story was dark from the beginning and I am not one to watch dramas if they are dark, so for me, it would never work unless the plot is simply AMAZING (like the drama, Tunnel - I just couldn't put it down, no matter how dark and horrific the events were). Anyways, for me personally, the drama was not intriguing nor enjoyable enough for me to keep watching, and then with the way the ending turns out, I just couldn't justify continuing to watch it. In my opinion, this is not a drama meant for everybody.

This drama has been on my plan to watch list since it came out. I was super excited that it finally came to Viki and started it almost immediately. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of how the story *feels*. The drama doesn't have enough light/comedic moments to truly lighten the tone to have more cheerful moments. I also do not like any of the character relationship dynamics (ranging from the main characters interacting with their coworkers to their families). And one of the most disappointing aspects is that I did not find the way the characters to be written to be enjoyable even though I adore many of the actors starring in this drama.

I also found this drama to be pretty boring with nothing really peaking my interest.
I wouldn't say that this drama is bad or that it's overrated, I just did not find the drama to be enjoyable enough to hold my attention and even though I only watched the first 2 episodes, that's definitely enough time to determine if there's anything promising to encourage me to continue watching. And unfortunately, Miss Hammurabi did not have that special something for me.

I think this was a decent hospital show, I just didn't really like the main characters that much. I found the second lead male doctor to be extremely aggressive and therefore, some of his interactions with other characters were infuriating. The main autistic doctor was sometimes really hard to watch in certain situations because many times, he was treated really unfairly due to his autistic label which made me feel sad. That sadness and my desire to advocate for the male MC was my main reason for dropping this drama. Also, having practiced in the medical field, there were some ethical issues that came up while watching that gave me inner turmoil. Trying to decide what's ethically right versus what's morally right can sometimes be a very challenging task.
In regards to the genre of this drama being a medical drama, I wasn't partial to the overall execution of this drama's hospital feel. For me, Good Doctor had a bit too much medical stuff, not enough personal lives interweaved for me to get entirely absorbed into the characters and plot. That's not to say there was anything wrong with this show, I have just preferred other medical K-dramas such as Doctors and Doctor Stranger when compared to this one.

So I usually like to give myself about 4 episodes of a drama series before deciding to drop a drama, but this one was just too awkwardly painful to continue on for me. The drama had a much darker tone with extremely awkward characters and oddly placed humor. I did not find the dark atmosphere and the comedy to mesh well, which is the main reason I dropped this drama. It made me uncomfortable.

It's really too bad because the premise made the drama sound like something hilarious to be privy to, but I couldn't get passed the writing of this drama to appreciate the story. If you are someone who enjoys darker tones and awkward characters/humor, maybe this is a drama worth giving a shot for you. Now that I'm reflecting on this drama, this might be a drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon fan will appreciate (let me know your thoughts on this connection since I did not finish SWDBS for similar reasons).
