This was a series that I thought would easily be one of my favourites, but the last 4-5 episodes undid it for me. I'm not saying it is bad, it just didn't leave me with the same feeling I was expecting while watching it. I did see some of the comments from people who had read the novel hinting this has a happy ending but not a happy happy ending, which I'm totally okay with, but I just don't feel a sense of closure after watching the final episode. I guess some things were either left unresolved or not resolved in a way that was satisfying to me.
I can't remember if I was looking forward to this or not because there's like a dozen series I'm watching or waiting for right now, but this is just very middle of the road. I know it must be difficult to come up with new ideas, but seriously I sometimes wonder if they've made an AI that just churns these things out. Just change the names and slightly modify the scenario and bingo BL Series #10001. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is bad, but I feel like I've seen it all before. And enough with the Freshy/Star/Moon contests because it's just filler.
This is not good. I enjoyed the first episode, but 2 and 3 were dull and my expectations for the remainder are about zero. There's just no energy and the whole thing limps along. When a series gets it right it seems effortless, but WZM! misses by a country mile.
My opinion of this didn't change much from my comment below, in that this wasn't the best thing I've ever watched, but I did end up enjoying this a lot. Yes, there was lots of nonsense, but it did bring me some laughs and some tears. Admittedly I was more invested in Win and Wit, but there was enough of the overall story to entertain me and get me to watch all the episodes in about a week. I think the thing that moved me most was not just Win and Wit's relationship, but the thought that many people have been through the same situation and have not been able to be with the one they love. One thing though was that I ended up loving that folky song they played throughout this. If this is available anywhere to buy please let me know. 🥹
I would try to be constructive but this was just bad. This could have been a nice little series if they'd stuck to one or two storylines, or had fewer characters, but we just ended up with a jumble. I think the actors are capable but they were given a really weak story and script to work with. When a series tries to tackle something like agoraphobia or social anxiety or whatever Nawee's problem is and does so in such a superficial way it becomes almost laughable. We could have seen the development in the relationship between Aioun and Nawee as he overcame his issue, but it was all so clumsy. And when they only have 15-20 minutes to fill and it still feels full of nonsense that is a very bad sign. Instead of The Tuxedo, it should have been called The Cheap Suit.
I don't think i ever watched drama that was so straight forward story-wise that become so messy... It's kinda…
We could have had a tight story with good character development, but there's all this nonsense that really takes away from it. Hopefully Chap and Green get a better series.
I really wish they'd put more effort into this. I like the two leads, but the story is pretty weak and the production itself is fairly low effort. When you are making episodes that are barely 20 minutes they should be perfectly executed, but I find some of it excruciating and start to fidget. There's a lot of potential that's been wasted.
I enjoyed the first episode, but found the second really quite dull. My expectations from Star Hunter are pretty low, so maybe I shouldn't be too surprised if this settles into mediocrity. It's only 8 episodes and far less tedious than GY/GY2, so perhaps I can endure.
I like this series a lot, but the thing that I don't think will be adequately resolved, or really achievable within the scope of this show, is the taming of Nut's anger. To be honest, someone that given to rage and irrationality, needs anger management or some other form of therapy, not just sweetness from a teddy bear come to life. It's totally unacceptable for his mother or Tofu, or anyone really to put up with that. The two recent episodes where he was 'normal' actually left me unnerved because I was just expecting him to flip-out at any time. I'm starting to feel like I'm the one in an abusive relationship and finding comfort in them being irate because at least its better than the overwhelming dread of the eventual outburst. I'm not going to let this detract from my enjoyment, but I felt like I had to get it out of my system.
This is far from the best thing I've ever watched, but it does have some appeal. Admittedly I've only seen one episode, but I'll give it a go. Very happy to see Net. He was about the only thing I liked in the execrable I Am Your King 2.
I love this one too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1prKLoGxmZU
