I tried to continue but I can't too. I fast-forwarded many episodes to find reasons to continue but today, I moved it to 'dropped' too. I love both the ML and FL but just this one is not for me, and not that I go for fluffy dramas too. There are too many villains and politicking that I find it too oppressive to watch.

Can someone tell me if the FL and ML "suffered" a lot? I watched up to the point ML joined the army and saw the miscomm between FL and the main military wife. I didn't like it and stopped. Am wondering if such angsts are commonplace in this drama or just transient. I don't like dramas where the main leads suffer too much injustice.

Yes! Love William Chan and the original Mystic Nine is my favorite. Love it! ZLY was so cute with William there.

ZQS said he would be fine so he should have survived but it wasn't so clear what happened to him.

I couldn't move forward with Nanyang Mystery after the first few episodes so can't exactly compare. But Mystic Nine is great. Some episodes are quite epic.

I just started on this too. Currently just finished ep 7. I feel the initial part of episode 1 is choppy but it was alright afterwards. I enjoy watching this more than the one I just finished. I think the energy brought on by the ML and FL is different and is interesting to watch. I like HMH but Ai Mi is a joy to watch. Their chemistry is on point.

She's not that bad but I do concede that this role could be acted differently by a different actress.

I was so intrigued by all the negative comments, I went to check out ep 1 & 2. Seriously, this isn't half as bad as some had made it out to be. The editing is a bit clipped but the quality isn't entirely poor. IDK what's the big deal about the opening sequence really. The only thing that irks me a bit is the ML's sister looking older than his mom.

Ok, 1st 2- 3 episodes were a bit dull but it picked up around ep 4. I love how they "engage" each other with their inner dialogues. It's quite funny.

It's average. I watch it while waiting for my favorite.

So I finished rewatching this but unlike many of you, I don't like it as much as when I first watched it. IDK why. Maybe cos I dislike noona romance now. The storyline is okay but now I feel the FL was over-the-top and I absolutely dislike the 2nd FL. The editing also feels too jarring. But I do like the chemistry between ML and FL.

This is such a brilliant show. The humor is very clever and the way the story unfolds around so many characters is really well told. Very sharp writing IMO. The rating does not reflect the quality of the show. But perhaps the humor is lost in translation or maybe the initial episodes were less captivating. If you like crime shows and humor, this has a great combination. No slapstick, no forced humor, no unnatural acting. Besides the ML, Fang Chao and Zhou Rong are very interesting characters to watch cos their brains do not fit their roles. But then again, that's what made the show entertaining to watch.

When I first started watching this, I mistook the Tian guy as Elvis as there's some resemblance from certain angles. And I thought how come the ML is so disappointing. It had to take me a few episodes to realize it's a different guy. Is it only me? :p

It was great seeing how dashing he looked presenting the award despite not being nominated. Unlike some people who criticized his choice and were suggesting he should do this and that as if they know better, I think he's demonstrating strength under control. The man clearly is a professional!

Haven't watched this yet but I just realized both the leads were in the Rise of Ning. So this is the alternative love story that never happened in the other drama.
