I thought they were going to pull a Kill to Love sad ending, so I was crying my eyes out for the last 10 minutes of the episode 8. Then I cried with joy when I realized it wasn't a sad ending. Then my crazy brain wondered, "Is this an open ending? Is a living Pei Yanzhi just a figment of Yin Qi's imagination? Are they all in the afterlife, maybe hanging out with Xiao Suhe and Duan Zi'ang from Kill to Love? "
Episode 9: Zhan Wang clearly has superhuman strength. A brain tumor and a stab wound being crudely stitched up do not stop him from hungrily pouncing on Xu Yuan. Love and lust conquer all!

They may be very outraged by the toxicity and illogical behaviors, even if this is fiction and very well done in my opinion. I am deeply invested in the source material and this adaptation as an unapologetic black flag enjoyer and applauder of Ayden Sng's portrayal of Lu Feng.
