Well, yes, I suppose. But, you know...you should probably give it a try and let your heart guide you. This is more complicated than the simple spoiler you're asking for 😭😅
I agree with Jing's part but not with Xiang Liu's. XY was never sure of XL's feelings as he make everything as…
It's funny because I started watching this drama for Deng Wei, and apart from Yang Zi, I had no idea who any of the other actors were.
So I guess this is one of those instances where we just shake hands and agree to disagree, because I really don't know what to tell you. That's what Tong Hua wrote, it was her intended meaning and it's the main reason why these shipping wars get so intense every now and then.
What I get from your comments (ever since that first one that got me to write a very long reply to you) is that the violence of the first episodes turned you off for good, and it's completely understandable. How could I, as a fellow woman, not understand that? But in my mind, I can also understand the world-building and the fantastical elements of this story to the point where I do not make real-life comparisons to situations of abuse and violence against women, which are heinous crimes that could never, under any circumstance, be condoned or justified, not in any part of the world.
So.. yeah, let's agree to disagree. Peace to you! ✌🏻
Yes, there is no doubt that Xiao Yao is a smart cookie, and she picked the right man for her.
"He just chose to love her from afar knowing she never reciprocates and didn't care which is what is heartbreaking for his character but also deserved because he brought it upon himself with how he treated her. He gave her danger vibes & she ran for the hills so no one to blame but himself."
And I'm the one who supposedly doesn't understand his character?
"The xiang Liu chose the right man for her narrative is just for Xiaoliu shippers to cope & it's time it's put to rest" [sic]
Was Tong Hua also coping when she wrote that Xiang Liu gave XY three things now that he was no longer around? The means to protect herself, a place to go, and a man to accompany her for the rest of her life? Is that considered coping?
Also, what if people do not want to put anything to rest?
I would like you Jingers to put to rest a lot of things, but I have no right to ask that of any of you.

This part here is what makes it so difficult for us to engage in a sensible debate: "XY loved him in a different way which was not romantic couple love but like friends love."
Also this: "It was just one sided romantic love but XY liked him as a playmate."
Tong Hua wrote this story in a way that shows the FACT that XY has two loves that are romantic in nature. You guys can keep believing that she only loved Jing romantically, that's your right, of course. But it's only one side of your biased interpretation. We also have XL shippers who deny that she loved Jing, even though we know that's not true.
She loved them both and could only be with one of them for many reasons that you're probably tired of hearing about. Not repeating her parents' history, the opposite sides of a war, her abandonment issues, his priorities, his commitment to his fellow soldiers. Countless reasons. You're reading the novel, so you know all that.
Actually, I started it way back in April when it first premiered, but I'm stuck in episode 36 because, as usual, the ending is not exactly as I hoped. Except the book has a happy ending, which is mind-boggling. Why do they always want to make us cry so much?? But, compared to LYF, Till the End of the Moon is basically a fairy tale :) I do love it indeed. Tantai Jin is my second favorite character this year, after Xiang Liu ♥️
Yeah I remember when you said the English subtitles are sort of funny and they remove a lot of context and nuance of the original language. I can't wait to be able to ditch the subtitles. I'm studying Mandarin and I love it but it's hard lol

So no, she wasn't just playing along.
Edit: Which by the way, is my biggest complaint about his character. Oh, well.
