Simple and sweet :)

I started this show, to cool off and this definitely helped. This is one of the shows that I would call "stress free" dramas, because its nothing too shocking and it's very cheesy with lots of basic elements.
I liked almost all characters of the drama there was no proper villains in the show just a few people who turned bad then turned out bearable, everyone had thier reasons, though a little petty.
I liked the female lead for her kind, not just kind EXTREMELY KIND, she was one of the most wholesome leads who wished everyone well, no matter what other people do she always understands them and doesn't spend too much time on them, she forgives and forgets. That's a characteristic that's really hard to develop and may not be realistic, I still appreciate that in her. She works really hard and shows her love to people around her with "all of her" in whatever way possible, really great personality trait.
The male lead was actually boyfriend goals, he is always ready to support her and is extremely gentle with her even though he does mistakes he's ready to accept the consequences and apologise and isnt a jerk, for a change.
The second leads had a pretty cute story too nothing too out of ordinary for a second lead story. Except for jiawai, I dont wanna give anything away but I loved his scenes with ******(not saying who) they were really cute. Even though thier storyline wasnt given importance and was just placed randomly with no coherence, I wanted more of them.
I liked that there were no huge misunderstandings and alot of skinship lol. Thier relationship was natural and none of them looked uncomfortable or awkward with each other.
Even though there was alot of skinship I really didn't feel much chemistry between them, sadly. Especially because the female lead and her shenanigans (you'll know what I'm talking about since episode 1) were super cringy. I literally couldn't take her seriously she was literally doing such wild stuff, I skipped all of it. Even after they started dating the way she addressed him and her dialogues were contributing to the cringy factor more than the cute factor.
Even the male leads sister was extremely annoying, dumb and cringy seriously her scenes in the first half of the show was so immature (though she became one of my favourite characters by the end of it).
The middle part of the show was extremely frustrating because of the second leads, seriously I liked wu di but she and the second lead were so annoying and frustrating that I just lost interest in the show and forgot about it for like a month, and then proceeded with it.
But the last few episodes were quite nice, it was fluffy and we all love a happy ending. So I guess I was satisfied with the show as a whole.
Watch this show for a stress free experience!

A little basic storyline and a great female lead. Very inspiring.

This drama starts off with an a terrific and original storyline about a failed idol, who almost debuted. This really impressed me, this is something that has never been done before! I was in love with the show and kept watching at all times, no stopping, even though I was so busy! Whatever breaks I get I would watch,it was truly addictive.
let me start with what I liked
•The female lead- the female lead had her way with words, she knew how to handle people, she knew how to accept help from people, extremely hardworking and full of ideas. This was so refreshing! She was naturally cute there was something about her that even when she acts cute, its literally not cringy, didn't know someone could do that so well! Her growth is amazing. She turned into a confident independent woman who everyone rooted for during the whole show. She was very rational (most of the time) and really was just overall mature and likeable.
•the chemistry- the leads portrayed such a beautiful and real relationship, it was just so natural! It looked like they were really in a relationship! Too many cute scenes.
•music- the osts were so catchy that I almost unconsciously watched the Intro and played the song on my head all the time.
•acting- the acting was actually pretty decent nothing mindblowing, but enough to convey thier emotions well.
•friendship(sismance)- not gonna lie, this is the highest level of sismance I have seen a drama after maybe mr sunshine?? Like the girl's friendship just seemed so natural, they're so supportive and open with each other. It was so wholesome. Its also so shocking at how even though two girls were trying to woo the same guy, they still remained friends???? Yes,I'm shocked too, didn't think that could happen in drama land.
•message- such a great message was portrayed through the female lead, it actually made me wish for good things for myself and to work as hard as she did for my dreams!
•made me learn alot about fashion- the female leads problems and what she did to solve some problems made me learn alot about fashion and I could relate to my marketing class that I was taking in College, it was amazing how they included such things in the show.

Now for what I didn't like:
•scene coherence- the scenes would randomly shift and sometimes there is no connection, I was extremely annoyed and sometimes would think "how did this happen", "how does she know", very confusing and unsettling.
•skipping of some important relationship points- you know some scenes are just so important in dramas and just make you feel fluffy on the inside, those were missing! I dont wanna spoil for everyone but what was the writer thinking?!
•basic on top of basic on top of basic- the drama would keep adding basic stuff on basic stuff. Dumb misunderstandings, hyperthimesia, cold male lead, struggling female lead, low eq high IQ male lead, cohabitation etc it was done ok but it just got a little predictable.
•writer tried to include too many things- the whole drama just included too many things that are suddenly introduced not developed well enough and solved,a little too fast. Especially the last few episodes just kept including so many unnecessary problems and made the solving of these problems, very rushed.
•dialogues- the dialogues were actually a little too cringy and I questioned the writers so many times. I couldn't take some scenes seriously as the dialogue was too funny or cringy.
•dragged- Even though I just complained about how it rushed things, now I'm doing the opposite lol, but bear with me. What I'm saying is what could have been stretched out, wasn't and what really could have been solved easily and handled better, was dragged. I did get lowkey annoyed sometimes, but it was bearable.
•the second female lead- this girl was actually super selfish and was forgiven way too fast for what she did. I couldn't believe how fast they solved her issue!
Overall I enjoyed the drama alot, watch if you want some inspiration (to help you keep going no matter how many times you fall!), a great female lead and alot of basic but cute scenes :)

Tragic and impactful, MUST WATCH

Let's start with my favourite quote from the show:
"Noble woman always resorted to living vibrant, like a flower"
"I'm no different, I also live vibrant.
The only difference is that I want to be like a flame"
Breathtaking, heartbreaking and unpredictable are three adjectives I'd used to describe this drama.
Every scene, every dialogue and every glance makes you feel all types of emotions. This show is filled with such beautiful written characters who all have thier own stories. All the characters are shown as extremely capable and passionate individuals who are ready to fight for thier rights and protect thier loved ones, come what may. Especially the women really stand out, none of them are weak and clueless, be it swords, words or guns they're always ready for anything. This aspect really sets it apart compared to every other drama, the depth of the character and thier development just makes you fall for every character by the end of the show.
This show is tragic, in every way possible and that makes it beautiful. A failing country, a love that will obviously have a sad ending and unrequited love that has gone on for decades. Sacrifices one makes for its country and loved ones,Patriotism, fighting for equality in the unfair world and how powerful a country can be when they all come together, is so beautiful displayed.
The symbolic meaning of every scene gives you goosebumps. Its incredible the impact this show has on its viewers, especially knowing that this is based on historic events.
The writer has mixed up 3 languages Korean, Japanese and English without making it seem funny or awkward, which is extremely hard.

What made me a little dissapointed is that they took this unrequited love aspect to another level. It was extremely unrealistic how a man's heart never changes, especially if the other person isnt interested in him. I felt like some of the love aspects could have been tuned down a little. But I do understand that love played a very important role in the story and was essential. I must say the mid portion of the show was a little slow and frustrating, nothing much happened. They really put in alot in the last 3 episodes though, maybe could have extended and slowed down the the story from 20th episode as alot was happening.
But nevertheless, this show really leaves you broken and then healed, extremely amazing. I cried so hard that tears stopped coming.

This show kept me on my feet at all the time,i finished it in 2 days! I have so many opinions about many aspects of the show, ill go over all of them :)
Story: as I previously mentioned always kept me waiting to watch more it was really unpredictable, couldn't stop! They made average cliches seem special. The first few episode upto maybe 16? was very good, the story was a slow burn and showed reasonable real building of love, that was refreshing, loved that.It showed a cold Male lead who became warmer and helped the female lead in meaningful ways.It showed supportive strong parents of both the leads, the female lead's mom was a little annoying at times, but didn't really mind after a point. The show didn't have much skin ship, which was little disappointing, but they were pretty cute. I do feel however that they dragged their romance.Sometimes the male lead was so controlling and the girl just said NOTHING ,was super annoyed. I loved the story character and development of the second female lead, her presence made this show 10000 times better. Her friendship with the Female lead was so cute! Her way of solving problems and finding happiness was EVERYTHING!The last two episodes and the ending was super abrupt and didnt make sense, what was the writer thinking! Overall i loved the different unique elements portrayed on the show, was super impressed by them and a cute story about dreams and hardwork YES!!
Music: This was so off honestly sometimes the music really didnt complement the scenes and seemed so awkward,It was sometimes didnt set the emotions, was really a mess. the ost song was not bad though!
Acting: by the end of the show i was so done with the stone face of riley wang,he had the same expression for literally the whole show. I was so disappointed. I really hope this is how the character was and he can hopefully act.The second male lead character was so frustrating gosh, but i guess thats intended. I particularly didnt find any faults in the other actors. They were pretty good.
also i have to mention, they dubbed japanse in the last episode like?? didnt even try to lipsync it,,,WHAT.There were also so many instances were the no name charecters were doing random shit, they didnt shoot this properly lmao
Overall don't regret watching this show, was something new and kept me entertained ,which is the point :)
will be praying for another season!

An upgrade from season one!

Age of youth is a series that takes about daily life of young girls around the age of twenty,it talks about dreams, job, love, hope and friendship! The drama was very well written just like season one! The storyline, scenes and characters were very relatable. This show tells you the reason why I love slice of life dramas, perfectly!! The story of each character is something actual people go through in real life, which made me super impressed!
The dialogues hit the mark each time! The osts and the music played throughout the show which included Pentagon bsides made me a happy Pentagon fan. I was LIVING each time a member comes on screen!
I think this season had so much to offer, fresh and interesting and was definitely better than the last,in all aspects, therefore higher ratings!
The few issues I have are maybe the whole story line of eun jae and the actor change for eun jae really annoyed me. Her story was dragged and uninteresting. Her character changed so much this season which really dissapointed me.
Still a really well written and well shot show!

I really enjoyed this show! The characters were nice, the story line was pretty good too! The actors did a good job. I really loved thier chemistry too THEY WERE SO CUTE.
The music was lacking tbh, the osts were average, didn't particularly love any.
I have a few opinions about the story though some episodes didn't keep me interested..until the 10th episode I guess I had to force myself to watch. But the last few episodes kept me alert at all times! Logic,i really didn't understandhow he was walking around without a mask and nobody recognized him
Highly recommended

Watch only if you're extremely bored and got nothing to watch

It started off really well ,up to episode 5 it was amazing, but then started to really go downhill. The story line was basic it was predictable nothing mindblowing. The love triangle got annoying seeing how they dragged it till the last episode. Hong bin's character was really annoying tbh I didn't like him.
But the ending was satisfying. Osts were pretty good considering it was sung by vixx ?❤️.
The acting wasn't the best, its mediocre. The cinematography was really bad except some scenes they had unique ways of showing things. Otherwise they kept doing shit with the camera and I was so annoyed.
Dont really reccomend but like yeah a one time watch

A very good political drama with humor elements

If the world is filled with people who are neither good nor bad, so are the characters in this drama. It's a world of grey.
One of my favourite things in a movie or show is a grey character. Always interesting and unpredictable and this show embodied that. Not even a single predictable character. You will think "oh this person must be a certain way" but they turn around and do something they have never done before. It was super fun to see this play out.
"Joy of life" is like a game with the writer whipping out a bunch of interesting, smart and power hungry people all in one show and seeing what happens. Its political yet humorous, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
This show had 46 episodes, I was gearing up for a long ride with high expectations and I would say this show has reached most of my expectations thank fully and surprised me quite a bit too. I really enjoyed most of the characters and most storylines.
It was really enjoyable from episode one to about ep 20, very clever, funny and interesting. But from 20 to 30 I started to feel a drag and it started to get uninteresting. There were alot of filler episodes and plots that could have been done without . I was almost
gonna drop it so bad, but only xiao zhan made me want to hold on. But after that phase things not only got better, it really kept me on the edge. The unveiling of the layers of the story was perfect. The story made sure that the audience always stayed alert in order to get what is happening.
This show is the epitome of equality. The women of this show are unbeatable, strong no matter thier circumstances and never a pushover. As an untamed fan this was a job well done as untamed lacked in this department.
This show hits different spots regarding dilemmas on political and social issues. I found myself questioning and debating about my own morals. This show strengthened my morals in some ways maybe. Now that's a huge impact.
As an untamed fan, it would be a lie to say that xiao zhan was not part of the many reasons why I watched this show. It was so great to see him on screen again, though it was for a support role. He bought in alot to the table and ended the show with a bang ?
This show was a treat to the eyes as well as the ears. The osts and the bgm used in the drama was beautiful. Plus point once again was xiao zhan sang one of the osts hehe.
In conclusion this show had a huge impact on me and I think it would impress many people so I highly recommend it! Cant wait for season 2 please release it asap ?

Let me start this review with a few of my favourite quotes from the drama that has left an impression on me
"Everytime I cried, I run again with a smile
I keep searching while losing ~milk coffee 'Hello Tomorrow '"
"I wish to fly up to the sky, stand shoulder to shoulder with the sun
The world is waiting for me to change~ Rodger yang 'I believe'"
"My dear,no matter what moment you are in, when you look back it has come to pass,
So be brave and take a leap forward."
"Perhaps, what fascinates you is not youth itself, but everything that has appeared in a short time and the glittering memory that will remain in our hearts forever."

This show has so many life lessons to offer, it shows struggles faced by the youth, perfectly. The first maybe 16 or 17 episodes this show really really had the potential to be a whole 10.

It shows the life of these 5 friends all the way from 10th grade to 28 year olds. The story of thier friendship is so touching, I loved all the characters and especially that there are no antagonists in this show, no bad characters at all, they all have depth and are well written, the dialogues for the most are extremely well written, the story upto a certain part was also really really good. The female lead is a linguistics student which gave the writer an opportunity to include so many deep thoughts and quotes of different people. The lyrics the female lead writes and everything she reads out and thinks about are deep and extremely beautiful which makes the story so nostalgic, you'll start to miss your school days or College days and definitely will bring a smile to your face!
A few episodes towards the end started to get a little annoying, still you could say it had a realness towards it.The last few episodes was a bit too much though, there were many cliches and I was a little frustrated! I still enjoyed the show very much. It deserves more views! Definitely a story many will enjoy.

Acting was lacking in some places, I couldn't feel many emotions and didn't even cry (I tend to cry alot haha)! All actors were mediocre nothing stood out to make me connect super well.

The music that was played in the show was really good,i mean the ones that the leads perform or the female lead wrote had extremely beautiful meaning and catchy tune to it! The osts were really good too!
The bgm of the piano which was put in all scenes was so annoying I wanted to mute it, like no matter what the emotions, they used the piano or wierd orchestra sounds...it was bad.

If you're looking for a light show with a burst of nostalgia this show is definitely for you!

A very refreshing take on high school

First of all,the actors have done an awesome job in this drama! Not one bad actor?? The story is well written, dialogues too but like they swear way too much I was lowkey annoyed. All characters were in grey and I loved that! All new kinds of characters and stories never told before, was refreshing. The concept itself was pretty good. It was a whole new dark take on school, interesting.
The reason why points reduce is because of my personal opinions, I personally do not enjoy high school dramas especially dark high school dramas. So watching this sometimes made me want to stop, like it didn't keep me on my toes for some reason and wasn't super hooked or anything,it was interesting but not interesting enough, I sometimes had to force myself to watch it.
Also it made me sad that all characters were anti and I couldn't relate or cheer for. Still i loved the way each character played out and all thier crazy behaviours! This drama was extremely refreshing and very unique ☺️

I reccomend!

The story was written very well, the characters especially female one was super well written. The male one idk he was a good actor but I couldn't connect with him much. He was serious and I dont know it was a little meh. But the second leads story was extremely beautiful they made me go through a rollercoaster of emotions. I could love and understand them better. The second lead girl was extremely strong and beautiful woman I was so happy with her character. The show was shot well. The humor was on point. But the music was not on par with how good this show is. Almost none of the osts sound good sadly. Still,I'd reccomend.

Some people compared it with goblin or say it's better, in my opinion, no. I'd say goblin was better in all aspects. Everything in goblin hits different. But yes,an amazing show!

One of the best dramas. The script is flawless.

This drama is an actual cultural reset. It has no flaws. It is a perfect masterpiece from a rookie writer's first work. She's made a fan for life.
This drama is just a beautiful portrayal of relationships, romantic, sibling, parental, marital and platonic. I couldn't believe how perfect the script and story is, it heals you and makes you better.

From the first episode, I loved the characters, the setting, the chemistry and the way it was filmed. There was no way for me to escape from falling for this drama and its characters.

It's so close to reality, each character communicates. The communication and understanding between the character is given the highest regard by the writer, this has almost never happened in any other drama I have seen. It tackles pain that people face when they are in a relationship in a way that has never been done before. Some, if not all of the dialogues the characters say actually deserve an award. I will riot if the drama doesn't get an award.

The actors really outdid themselves. Sekyung's best performance yet. Her acting is amazing. Her character, one for the books. She's unapologetically herself, loves herself and takes care of herself. She puts herself first, this kind of character, I have never seen before.
Im shi wan has also earned a fan for life. His voice, his actions and expressions are to die for. He has such a hold on the audience. A genius actor. I cant wait to watch more of his works, as this was my first.
Sooyoung and tae oh also did a great job at making sure I feel all kinds of emotions.
Jtbc did God's work by releasing behind the scenes and interviews of the actors which I watched like it's my daily routine. I love the main actor's chemistry, honestly if they date, I wont be surprised.

Each and every character is precious in thier own way. There is literally nothing for me to complain about. Though I'd like to Express my love towards the secretary, his character is gold. He's so precious, funny and so human unlike the secretaries in other shows who are shown to be more robotic.

One more thing I loved about this show was that none of the characters were labelled to be a particular way. Nobody assumed anyone to be straight, this was truly a breath of fresh air. Its leading a trend towards more sensitive dramas in the future, hopefully.

The osts of the show are top tier. I would really recommend this ost called "sorry" by 2F, it literally gives you goosebumps. I watched and heard each of the osts during my one week wait between episodes.

Run on is always on my mind. One of my all time favourite dramas for sure. Highly recommended.

This show is definitely one of the most heart warming shows I have watched. It completely changed how I view doctors and thier efforts. It changed my views on surgeries.I am actually a little bit (very) scared of surgeries, pregnancy and anything related to hospitals, but this drama made me feel less anxious. It basically opened my eyes towards so many things I chose to turn a blind eye to.
I personally dont enjoy the medical genre, it is a little bit too much for me. But this show is an exception. It depicts more real life of doctors than a fantasy that is often shown in many dramas. More than the medical aspects,it shows relationships of people. Friends, family, love and siblings is shown so incredibly well.
Our 5 friends are friendship goals. I love each of them so much! This is the purest friendship I have seen on screen, so cute and heartwarming.
The show is also so fun to watch,so many laugh out loud moments! The 12 episodes went by quite fast.
The music played during the show has the most beautiful lyrics and such emotional and nostalgic vibes. I love the band sessions of the friends.
The only issue I see is how the story keeps getting cut suddenly and shown in a later part of the show,I know they're to create an aspect of mystery but after a while I started to get annoyed. The ending has an abrupt ending, it ended like it was supposed to have more episodes but didn't. I wasn't satisfied with how most story lines had an open ending. I think there is a season 2 coming next year, so I'm excited for that!

This drama was a fun one, definitely enjoyed it even though the story was mostly basic.
The point of this drama was that even though every part of the drama was basic and mostly predictable, the writer made it fun and almost fresh, we knew we saw this before, but still looked forward and enjoyed it.
Some of the characters broke out of the general basic norms and it was fun to watch, but others embodied the norms, which still wasn't super annoying.
The number of people who watched this show on air made it more fun to watch. Literally, the whole world was talking about it and sometimes the seojun/suho debate got outta hand, but still, it was fun.
The osts were really fun to hear too, I will be hearing them often!
*****spoiler alert*****
I hated the way they made soo jin evil after giving us hope that she'll stay as jugkyung's friend and introducing her to be such a great character. They could have handled this better.

In the end, they really had to pull the "I'll come back after few years and act like nothing happened " trout. Aren't we all tired of this? I hate this move so much. There are mobile phones, we are in the 21st century. Kindly stop with this writers.

Other than these few story flaws I enjoyed this show a lot ♡
