Its called double standards.Cheating ML´s is the worst thing i know.
Yeah, I was enjoying that drama until he cheated on her once and then to make it worse he cheated on her twice AFTER he had promised her he would not do it again. Typical cheater behavior. If they cheat once, they will cheat twice and keep cheating and keep fooling you with fake promises and crocodile tears.
I was so done with him after I found out about his cheating ways that I did not care how much he sacrificed himself at the end. It was a really bad experience for me. I would not recommend that drama to my worst enemy.

He analyzed his feelings for kandi and explained it in ep11
I know, but did he act any different with the female lead? He was still immature most of the time.
And my problem is the pace was off. One episode he was actively pursuing a woman he has supposedly loved for 10 years and the next he is asking the female lead to marry him for real. It was too fast. There should have been a few episodes in between these events for him to do some self-reflection. If the writers did not want to push their getting together to the second half of the drama, then they should have made him realize what he fell for Kan Di was not romantic love way before ep 11. Why did they even make the male lead be interested in someone else for almost half of the drama? In my opinion it was not necessary to drag it for that long.
This could have been good but at the end of the day it was just average. And that ending, it was just like the rest of the drama - underwhelming.
I have just recently watched a drama with similar plot points like the investigations, the slow paced romance and the supposed family enmity that turned their love into an "impossible" one. The drama I am talking about is Under The Power. Although these 2 have several similarities, Under The Power was better in every way. Even if it had a lot more episodes. The cases were more interesting, the main leads had more chemistry, the pace felt more natural.
So is this a bad drama? Not really or I would have not kept watching it. There were things I liked about it. But it did not meet my expectations if I compare it to other Chinese historical dramas I have watched this year. And it’s March.
Seriously though, is it this series mission to make us fans cry for each episode? I cried sooo much in episode…
Yeah and they managed to make the second female lead as likable if not more likable than the female lead. And they are becoming friends even. This is so rare in the drama world. In any other drama they would hate each other and be fighting for the wife/mother spot. But they are both so selfless that they actually became friends instead.

After ep 10, this is one series that made me cry so often. The script and direction is very well done. But somehow…
You are not alone. I honestly do not like his character. I think it is because he is depressed and kind of apathetic to everything and everyone so it is hard to like him. He seemed like an ok dude before his first wife died tho. But right now just looking at his face annoys me and how could he do that to the eggs? Not only is he lacking as a husband to Min Jung, he sucks at being a parent. Poor Seo Woo.
Ok, so I guess the writers want us to be as confused as the male lead. After the most recent episodes it does seem like he loves his wife all of a sudden even if so far he had done a terrible job at showing it. As I thought, she was there for him at his worst and eventually he fell for her. But then he looks depressed all the time like his soul left his body and how desperate he was at the end of ep 10, he is definitely not over Yu Ri and yet I was almost believing he saw her as a burden by the way he acted in eps 9 and 10.
At this point I have no idea how this drama is going to end. I just want everyone to be happy at the ending and I am still up for the Yu Ri - Pil Seung pairing. XD
The most laughable thing that came out of the male lead’s mouth was probably: "what I value most is my dignity so I if you are not faithful to me then dont live with me. LEAVE." (ep 11)
There is a lot wrong with this sentence, but my main question is WHAT dignity? This male lead is one of the worst waste of space I have seen, even for lakorn standards. In fact this drama has way too many characters that make my stomach turn so I have to watch it on fast forward. I just keep watching for the sake of completing it and hopefully seeing the female lead kick his sorry butt.
I have a feeling that they were best friends and the real one that he felt in love was the actress and the other…
Yeah, that is also a valid option. But I think if she felt responsible in some way for her death it would be a harder hit for her. Maybe they were arguing and one followed the other to the rooftop and because of the snow she might have slipped and died and the FL felt responsible. Looking at the preview it is also possible that the female lead was going through something and attempted suicide and while trying to stop her, her friend fell. There are so many possibilities. But I am pretty sure the female lead was present when it happened.
And by the way her friend fell, I do not believe it was suicide. Also, the statistics say that most people who commit suicide that way take off their shoes first. She had her shoes on when she fell. Even if it was snowing, it is not like you would be worried about getting frostbite when you are about to kill yourself. So yeah, the suicide theory is out of the window for me. It was either murder or an accidental death.
I was about to write big comment on much more. 1 - Its in all Chinese dramas now. Story start in foreign land…
2 - The idea I got from the translations was that she was his ex-girlfriend and they broke up because of his inability to have intimacy. To be honest I have no idea how he could ever like her. She just does not seem like someone he would fall in love with when she has such a bad personality. But I guess maybe she was not that bad when she was younger. XD
3 - Definitely. I wanted at least a wedding and maybe a pregnancy or something. And the supporting characters were really put aside. What about his assistant and the other guy who were always working with the main leads to solve cases? They were so underdeveloped. What a waste. They had so much potential. I would rather see more of them than Pei Yu and Bonnie and some other supporting characters that I could not care less about.
I have a feeling that they were best friends and the real one that he felt in love was the actress and the other…
Huh? What do you mean? She is the one who cannot remember things. He remembers EVERYTHING. I also wanted to believe it was her at first, somehow, but it does not seem like that is the direction this is taking. It seems like she was her best friend and that is why she says the same things as her but without remembering where she got them from. Also, I dont think his first love killed herself, I think she was either murdered or accidentally fell while having an argument with someone (possibly the female lead). The way she fell is not consistent with a suicide. I guess we will be given more clues to what happened in the next episodes.
Ok, so where do I start? Maybe by saying this is one of the few work centered chinese dramas that I have fully enjoyed. This is just on another level compared to all the other chinese dramas with a similar setting. I did not mind at all how it took the main leads so long to get together because I thought it just felt more natural that way. I do wish I saw more of them as a couple tho cause they were so cute together. I do have a few things that bothered me:
1st - How they portrayed a foreign country to be super violent like China is the safest place on Earth. I mean, they just got to Australia and the male lead already has a gun pointed to his head. And then just like 1 day later they go out for lunch on a fancy restaurant and it just so happens to be robbed. Like, really? And then what the female lead said before they left made it seem like they were trying to promote their own country as being a lot safer than any other country. Yeah, right. We all know how that works.
2nd - Pei Yu and Bonnie are 2 women you would never want as your girlfriend/wife. One clearly did not get over her ex and keeps bothering him when she is legit about to get married to someone else. Why would you accept to marry someone and then keep trying to get back to your ex? And the other is as loyal as my pet snake. I dont have a pet snake. I am sorry, I know she is the female lead’s bestie but Idc. The female lead should not have said she was easy, but in fact we all know that was the truth. I did not feel even a bit sorry with the ending she got. She deserved it. It was an opportunity for her to do some self-reflection.
3rd - Why did it end? A few more episodes would not hurt. I would have liked some extra scenes like the main leads getting married. Oh well, everything that is good has to come to an end. T T
There were other things that bothered me but these were the ones I could think about right now. And I also want to keep it as short as possible. That is if you can call this short. LOL
Yes, I thought that was so stupid. He a real idiot. You up and down with lover but Nid cant have male friends?…
Ikr? That was a big thing for me. Her personality went from 80 to 8 in a second. There was no consistency.
I think thai people like these kind of dramas because it is the reality they see. Thailand still allows men to have several wives and it is one of the countries with the highest infidelity rate. Even in dramas we can see that. Almost every drama if not every drama has at least one character that is cheating, most likely a man that is cheating on his wife or girlfriend. Sometimes that character is even the male lead. Ewwww
I’m abandoning ship. :(The main FL is painful. Such a pretty face but the acting /character is bad. She’s…
How many episodes did you watch? Because her character is intended to be this way at first.
They both have faults and by working together they learn to improve themselves by looking at each others example. She is too trusting of people and I guess a little immature because of the way she was raised and how she was thrown into the business world and having to be in a position of responsibility when she was not ready for it.
He is very professional and competent but is cold and ignores how his job negatively impacts innocent people and helps the bad guys get away with stuff. At heart he is not a bad person, but he does not let his conscience and feelings interfere at all with his job and that is taking a toll on him. As they work together we see character development for both as each one complements for what the other lacks.
Their partnership is one of the main reasons I have stuck with this drama. I think the name "Perfect Partner" describes this drama very well.
Of course Min Jung love him and by some extend Gong Hwa. There must be something that happen 3 month ago that…
Well, to my defense I wrote that comment 10 days ago, before the new episodes came out.
I had written a lengthy comment explaining everything but the browser closed and I lost everything so I will keep it shorter, as if thats possible. Lol
About your first point, Min Jung could have been cleaning up and the diary fell and she saw what was written there. But this is just a guess. I just know that something did happen for her to change her behavior in the past months.
About him feeling guilty, that does not necessarily means he loves her. It does prove he cares for her to some extent and does not want to see her get hurt, which he knows will happen if he was to get back with Yu Ri. He knows he cant just go to her and say: hey, you know what, my dead wife is back so can we divorce and can you move out so she can move in? Yu Ri is also not pushing for anything cause she knows she will have to leave eventually and does not want to ruin his life. I am pretty sure if she wanted to get back together, the male lead would have already pulled Min Jung aside and told her he wants a divorce. The only thing stopping him from getting back to Yu Ri is Yu Ri herself.
And finally, I was surprised that Seo Woo was talking, but not that she said that. I mean, Yu Ri was never her mother to her. She was raised by her father and the first mother figure she knew was Min Jung. As much as she feels a strong connection to Yu Ri, at the end of the day, the woman who she calls mother, who she lives with, who cooks for her, who gets her dressed, who takes her to places, and so on is Min Jung. So it is natural for her to feel that way. That scene was bittersweet for me. On one side I was happy that she was talking and that Min Jung could hear those words cause she really needed them. But at the same time Yu Ri, her real mother, just had to hear her own daughter saying she loves someone else more than her. So I bet that hurt.
But anyway, my views changed a little with the most recent episodes. I am now shipping Yu Ri with the pilot. LOL Just cause that way everyone would be happy and she could still see her daughter without having to get in between their marriage. It is a much better ending than her leaving. Please, let her and the pilot find comfort in each other, they are both so lonely. I mean, his entire family died on the same day and she cannot go back to hers cause she is supposed to be dead, so just let them be happy together. I know I am dreaming and this ship probably wont sail but at least I can be on a better mood while watching it. That is until the writers decide to sink the ship and we all have to say bye bye to Yu Ri. T T
I was so done with him after I found out about his cheating ways that I did not care how much he sacrificed himself at the end. It was a really bad experience for me. I would not recommend that drama to my worst enemy.
