Dont worry, I did not think you sounded angry. XD
I am not sure if she was standing there before or after the girl arrived, but she was there before the killer got closer, so I am not sure. I could tell she felt he was a threat but I have no idea if she was intending to protect the girl. I would have to re-watch that scene to be sure.

Ok, thank you. When you finish watching let me know if the female lead has a proper ending.

I think people hating on the female lead and/or the drama completely missed the point of watching it. More than a crime drama, this drama was about real people and their struggles. You cannot watch this drama using only logic. You also have to use your heart to understand why the characters do certain things, especially the female lead. You really cant use logic to understand her, you have to use empathy. You have to put yourself in her shoes, imagine that was your disabled twin sister that disappeared for years, you dont know if she is even alive and the police completely dismissed you and your pain. Would your first worry be to follow protocols and orders and make sure your actions do not cause your colleagues problems? I am not saying the female lead was right in what she did. But judging her character just based on the consequences of her actions and not on what she was going through or on how many people she helped along the way is just not fair to her character or the drama.

I don't understand all the hate, she made some selfish choices, but it was because the police lost her trust when…
Totally agree, people who are hating so much on her are either insensible or have never suffered or met someone who suffered injustice. Although I personally would act smarter and less reckless than her, I would have made the same decision as the female lead. The police failed her, her sister has a disability making her an easier target, she had to go years without even knowing if her sister was alive, I would be desperate too, protocols and orders would be the least of my worries. And even with all that baggage, she still took time to help other victims and families. As a human being I cant hate her character or this drama that taught so many important lessons and touched on so many serious and realistic issues.

Me too. It would have made a very interesting plot twist. I initially though he got close to the female lead because 1-she looked like his first victim and 2-because she was getting closer to the truth. I only discarded that idea completely like 4 episodes before the ending. XD
This is what happens when you watch way too many crime dramas and series, you dont trust anyone, even the handsome and kind second male lead. ^ ^

I think she was already standing there when the killer showed up. But there is definitely no doubt that she never intended to push the girl. She was falling so it was a reflex to grab whatever was closer. If she had grabbed a different part of the dress the girl might have fallen on top of her instead. Sadly she grabbed the collar, which was a smaller piece of the dress that could not stand the little girl’s weight and ended up ripping. You might have felt that way because of her reaction to the killer getting closer, I guess she could sense he was dangerous.

I think I sympathized with Ma Ri more than most. She worked hard to be the best, but was constantly being criticized…
I understand what you’re saying and I think both her mother and male lead failed her, but that does not change the fact that she treated her job, a job that involves people going through painful events, as if it was some desk work. Yes, she followed protocols, but she failed to connect as a human being, making her fail as a police too. She ignored the family member of a possible murder victim, she completely dismissed any tips or suggestions that she did not believe or agree with - like how the subway ghost could be using the tunnels; she failed to connect with and treat respectfully the rape victims, and she did let her emotions affect her job in some situations, although she tried to disguise it as following protocols or doing what is best for the cases. Most of the time she gave off the vibe that she just wanted to get it over with, find the culprits and close the cases. In real life that is one of the main reasons police sometimes ignore victims or lock up innocents, cause they just want to get it over with, close the case and get recognition for their well done job.
And although I agree the female lead was pretty reckless and overlooked protocols and orders, she pretty much cracked the case open and helped several other people along the way. As a fellow human being I feel more sympathetic towards her than Ma Ri. If I was on the victims side I would rather have the reckless police working on the case.
But like I said, I understand why you personally would feel that way about her. Her mother really messed up and so did the male lead.

Instead of pointing out the things that I like and don't like in this drama, i feel that pointing out the lessons…
Exactly. That is how I felt. Although this drama was not perfect, no drama is in fact, it taught some important lessons and I was able to connect with the characters. I smiled, laughed, got angry and cried while watching it. Definitely not a plot to watch lightly since there were so many serious and realistic issues portrayed.

Obviously there were some flaws, and as usual the first half was more interesting than the second since the mystery slowly started disappearing. But it was still interesting to watch and I could connect to the characters, be it the victims, the police, and in some cases, even the perpetrators. I smiled, laughed, got angry and cried together with them. Although I mostly watch dramas for the romance, I liked that it wasn't the focus here or the story itself and cases would have suffered with that, making it just an average romance drama. It was refreshing to see a drama about the subway/metro police specifically. I did not even know that was a thing. XD
I liked how the drama taught some important lessons and showed how actions or lack of them can create a snowball of events that could impact the lives of a lot of people. I was also touched by the way people with disabilities and their families were portrayed.

At the end of the day, although not perfect, it was still a drama I enjoyed. 8/10

I liked it until they left the island, then everything started to fall apart. There is no doubt the female lead was not the typical female lead. She was greedy and selfish, but deep down she was not a bad person. In fact, I can count on my fingers how many people were honestly good and not just pretending, I can count with the fingers of one hand, cause it definitely was less than 5. Neither of the female leads deserved to be with the male lead, he was too good for them. Part of me wanted him to fall in love with the chubby servant. She treated him with the sincerity he deserved. Just my thoughts, but I knew the chances of that happening were almost non-existent.
I liked the ending, but only the last few minutes, everything else felt forced and rushed, unnecessary and cliché.

I had this on my to watch list when only Alan was as cast! Now I see is this actress and I’m not as excited.…
Why? I have only seen a few of her dramas and I dont consider her either a good actress nor a bad actress. I am not judging you, I am just wondering what you dont like about this particular actress. I also have 1 or 2 chinese actresses that have stopped me from watching some dramas, but their acting is really bad, they are expressionless.

I had this one on hold for a few months before I finally had the courage to started watching. I knew it would be one of those dramas that would hurt to watch. I was right. Over half of the drama was made out of the main leads suffering and was painful to watch. I have seen so many lakorns with similar plots and it never gets easier to swallow. I definitely do not agree with the way it ended when it comes to the female lead’s father. And after so much hurt, that ending was not enough to heal anyone, including myself.

Yeah, the last drama Jang Na Ra did also had a lot of makjang and mistery and stuff, and although many hated it, I was one of those people who surprisingly liked it for how different it was from the regular kdramas. So I might like this one too, I am just waiting to be spoiled because even if the story is interesting, if the female lead does not get a decent ending, then I might not want to watch it. I hate cheating but Im more worried about how the female lead will deal with it rather than if the cheating is real or not.

The sci-fi part definitely was not thought out very well and there were some things that werent explained properly. The romance and medical part of the drama I liked, just wish it was less dramatic but I understand it had to be considering the situation. I agree that it was mostly the female lead chasing after him and it felt tiring to watch that, but I guess it makes sense in this particular drama since it would be weird for the one with the robot brain to be doing the chasing, especially when you consider Mo Bai’s original personality.

The last few episodes, especially the last 2, turned very cliché without a need for it. I wish they just had wrapped it up nicely instead. Oh well, not a bad drama, I kinda liked it, but I did skip a lot in some episodes and I cant say it is anywhere near my favourite chinese dramas.

Wouldn’t that be don’t marry her in the first place if u don’t love her. And just divorce her if you don’t…
I was trying to make the moral of the story short and to the point. Also, I think I made it clear that I was being partially ironic when I put love between " ". I never thought he truly loved her.

The thing is that he is portrayed as if he "loved" her. But you dont cheat on someone you love...unless you love yourself more than that person, which would mean it is not a genuine love. And they were already married so its not like they can go back. But what would be expected is for him to accept that he messed up and their relationship is over, but again, since he loved himself more than her, he was not able to accept that fact and kept chasing after her when she made it clear it was over. He was quite selfish.

That’s exactly where I stopped as well... ! I’ve never dropped a drama before but I only wanted to keep going…
Yeah. It’s sad tho because there were some good ideas that just werent executed well because of all the characters and individual plot lines.

I would not mind a drama with the 4th couple as the main leads. The whole idea of a person being lost and not knowing what to do, other than trying to meet everyone’s expectations, getting his life turned around by someone who is his complete opposite is interesting. I love romances where one or both make the other a better person or heal from a previous heartache or loss.

I have been keeping track of the comments so I can decide if I will watch it or not and every time I come back here I just get more and more convinced this is not worth my time. Anyway, I will wait for this to finish airing so I can find out if he is cheating or not and if the FL is given a proper ending.

I agree with people saying the business part is lacking and not the most realistic, but the romance and the relationship and overall interactions between the main leads are worth watching it, if that is what you are looking for. I originally decided to watch this for the romance anyway, so the business part did not matter that much to me.

The subs are far from perfect and sadly became worse near the end. I think it started with ep 18, which was almost impossible to understand based on the subs.
