... she legit only gets together with him at the middle of the last episode, then you have the rushed ending with…
Yeah, but it’s rare for the male lead to get a lot less screen time as a couple, or even as a romantic interest than everyone else. Cause you can tell he likes her but she only seems to notice him almost at the end and we are shown a few scenes and then they marry and that’s it. I wanted to see them dating, at least for 1 episode because to be honest I could not care less about her dates with the other guys and they took over several episodes. So I was disappointed when they rushed the ending like that, mostly because they decided to use the super annoying cliché of the ex-girlfriend showing up again and pretending she is pregnant. That precious time could have been used to show us the main leads finally together as a couple.

I know that. But when you have been in the drama world for quite some time, plots like these are far from interesting. And no one enjoys going through so many episodes of a drama knowing from the beginning who she is going to end up with and how long it is going to take them to figure things out and like I said in the spoiler, I wanted to see more of them together as a couple, not a rushed ending.

Ikr. There is this chinese drama called Unexpected that has been shown on Viki as a coming soon drama for like…
I was watching it on a facebook group I belong to but only half was subbed and then the subbed stopped because she knew viki would be uploading it. I remember there were subs on youtube but the channel had stopped subbing for months, I guess it‘s a different channel. Thank you for telling me.

Really? Since it’s a jdrama and they have the same last name, plus his weird actions, I just assumed the worst. I can imagine the female lead misunderstanding things just like me. XD

Title Fake Affair

She is not married, but it seems he IS. The first episode he gets a call from someone with the name Akari and when you look here for the names of the characters you can see there is someone with this name that has HIS last name. So I am guessing she is his wife. Unless there is a really good explanation in the next episodes, I will be dropping this because I cannot stand cheating.

Aside from the main leads strong love for each other and how they outsmarted their enemies almost every time, there was not much more I liked about this. I liked the character of the Empress after a while, as another character that at first seemed like a disgusting person. I also liked the Empress Dowager and the little prince was cute. I don’t think there were many other characters I liked, maybe some supporting characters that did not show up as much.

The emperor was a disappointment, not that it is the first time I watch a useless emperor. He seemed to have some brains at first but then I started to feel more and more that he was actually brain dead. He did not always know his priorities and was unable to tell who was loyal to him, who was a traitor and who just wanted benefits. As long as people’s words and actions were pleasant to him, he would completely forget his supposed love for the female lead, the sacrifices of those who put their lives on the line for him, and even his people.

It’s not a bad drama, but it can be frustrating to watch, especially for people like me who love romantic stories and this one does not come easy, not for us and not for the main leads.

Title One Spring Night Spoiler
This is one of those romance dramas that is more focused on the slice of life genre than anything else. Because…
First of all, and let me get this out of the way, the ex-boyfriend, his father and her father were completely frustrating and at times disgusting to watch. Who do you think you are that you can make decisions and plan things for someone else, even when that person has completely moved on from you and is actually planning to marry another person?

The older sister’s husband/ex-husband was another one.

The relationship between the main leads left me with some doubts. I can tell they love each other but they did argue about small things as they were dating, although they did not let those things split them up, I can imagine that after getting married and after some years, or like people say, once the honeymoon phase is over, I can imagine some bigger arguments taking place. I think this a possibility because of how different they are. He holds back a lot, and she is always upfront about things. And what if Eun Woo’s mother suddenly shows up one day wanting her kid back or something? Imagine how much turbulence that could cause in their marriage. And there is always her father which I imagine will be pointing out her husband’s faults at every family gathering, which could also create some friction between both families, even if the mothers got along well and his father is very understanding. So yeah, this was one of the hardest to trust romantic relationships I have seen in the drama land.

In a perfect world their little arguments would end very fast without them getting seriously angry, the mother will never show up to get the kid back, her father will end up getting used to the idea of them together and who knows maybe even get along with him, .......but that’s not how it works. Thankfully this is a drama so we can just imagine this is how their future will be. In real life things would be a lot different.

This is one of those romance dramas that is more focused on the slice of life genre than anything else. Because of that, most people will either like it or find it not to be their cup of tea and probably drop it. I don’t think I was in either group actually. I liked it, or at least some of it, but watching it slowly while it was airing played a big part in that. I don’t think I would be able to binge-watch this drama without skipping A LOT of scenes. That said, I did not think it was a bad drama and I did enjoy it so to be fair I gave it a 7.5/10, but I would not be able to give it a higher rating because there are so many other dramas that I enjoyed a lot more and gave a 8/10 rating.

There were some things I would like to comment on tho.

Liked some things, did not like other. Thought this could have definitely been better if it was shorter. The last episodes were just dragging things and I was quite bored. The ending was disappointing but I was already counting on it since the drama as a whole did not meet my expectations. Although I did not particularly like the ending of the original version (the japanese one), it was still better than this one. Even tho I was waiting for Min Ah to make a come back as an actress, this drama did not meet my expectations and I would have liked to see her play a different kind of character. At the end of the day I do not regret watching this, but I don’t feel it added much to my drama experience, it was just another drama I watched.

Don’t worry. I felt exactly the same way most of the time. If you are like me, you will only fully understand…
That sucks then because here he does not have a good ending either and he is more of a supporting character since he does not show up that much. Maybe in a future drama he will get a lead role and his deserved happy ending.

I also had that feeling since ep1, he just did not look at her the way a brother would. Him being so quiet, his eyes betrayed him. The look on his eyes always gave away his feelings for her, we just did not know the details and how sad it would be. I have nothing against the male lead, but after knowing all the details and the story behind everything, I kinda wished she would end up with RQ. I felt so bad for him. T_T

Yup. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more about him and their relationship that you don’t know yet. Be patient tho. Some things will legit only be revealed in the last episode, and have a box of tissue paper next to you, you might need it.

Amazing! You're every word has perfectly described my very feelings towards this drama, much better than I could…
Thank you! Yes, watching it while it was airing just made it much better, that is why I recommended people who are going to start now that is fully subbed, to not binge watch it.

no available eng sub for last 2 episodes yet i think.. probably this Friday or the weekends most likely..
It is from a facebook group. You have to join the group and be accepted first. I cannot give you the link because that is not allowed by their rules but search facebook for Chinese and English Drama. This is the page that manages that group.

Unfortunately the group was just taken down and they are not sure if they will be able to get it back so you might have to be patient. What I can do is trying to look through my history for the last 2 episodes since they were uploaded on google drive and not facebook. If I find them, I will send them to you in a private message.
