I started watching this on TV with my sister and with my mother close by and we regretted it. Not only is the movie and romance between the main leads weak, there are some scenes that could be considered sexual for some. We gave up on the movie at that scene but from what I read, good thing we did. It would have been a waste of time to keep watching it.
I just finished watching episode 20. There is a facebook page by one of the people that were subbing the episodes on youtube. She did proper english subs but her yt account got deleted so she posted the other episodes on facebook. She uploaded episode 20 yesterday. Search Well Intended Love on facebook and the name of the subber is Oompa Loofa.
This was pretty entertaining. Usually I find contemporary chinese dramas pretty boring with all the draggy plotlines, way too much screen time given to supporting characters and clichés executed badly. This one had none of that.
It was entertaining from episode 1 and it only got better in the next episodes. Yeah, sure, there were some clichés, but they were executed well, there was a plot twist (actually, maybe 2) and there was a lot of fan service going on. By fan service I mean that we got to see a lot of the things we would have loved to see in some of our favourite dramas but that never happened. For those reasons, I gave this a 9 since it has been one of the best chinese dramas I have seen, in terms of enjoyment.
Honestly I expected the songs to be a lot better. The debut one was a little better than the others, but still not up to the standards that a music movie should have. When I read the manga I tried to imagine in my head what the songs would sound like and even in my imagination it was better than this. The female lead’s voice is not bad but it does not feel special either. If you never read the manga you might like it more than me. I did not have high expectations or anything but thought it would be better than it was so I was still a little disappointed at how forgettable the movie was.
After watching the first episode I almost dropped it because of the mother. She annoyed me to no end with her yelling and the way she treated the kids, mostly the son, always shoving him, pulling his arm and hitting his head...borderline child abuse.
She yelled at the kids instead of sitting down and having a normal conversation with them. No wonder when she asked her daughter why she skipped school the kid stayed quiet. Who would feel like being honest with someone who is yelling at you like that, you will be scared the person will snap and hit you once you tell the truth. Also, as someone who loves animals, I felt very angry when she just grabbed the dog and said she would just abandon him some place far from home.
I am quite conflicted about this drama. It is a nice drama and there was a lot of things that I liked but it did make me feel bored very often, probably the only time I felt excited about something was for the baby’s gender reveal since the doctor made it a suspenseful moment. Lol
It is a nice drama, but more of a drama to watch with family than one that is exciting or that you want to binge-watch.
I was liking it so much, which was a surprise since I rarely like japanese dramas as much as I like most korean and chinese dramas, but I have to admit that the last few episodes were frustrating and the last episode felt rushed and left me disappointed. I think they could have done a better job at wrapping up things.
I liked the concept of the roles being switched with the female lead being intelligent and kinda cold while the male lead was nice, too nice for his own good. For that reason I do not regret watching this and I did feel it was one of the japanese dramas I enjoyed the most. Just wish those last episodes went in a different direction so I could give this a higher rating.
The editing choices didn't help either, because they sometimes threw into doubt what had seemed like an obvious…
Yup. The writers were making fun of us the entire time. Last time I felt a show was trolling me was when I watched Pretty Little Liars: this is A. no this one is A, wait, there is another A, there are small As and then the big reveal, this one is the true A. At some point everyone was A but no one was A. Lol
Wow, I am surprised at how a drama with such low morals has people saying it is really good. She has a fiancée and he is MARRIED, love that starts in such a way is not real love, it is attraction, passion, call it whatever you want, but it is not love. Recently japanese dramas keep showing cheating and adultery as completely normal when that is not the case, let’s not make something ok just because a lot of people do it in real life. It is already disgusting that people do this, why make it a trend in the drama world when most of us watch dramas cause real life kinda sucks sometimes?!
Anyway, I have to be very selective with japanese dramas these days and read the comments before I decide to watch because they keep making messed up plots.
When your stalker/kidnapper is the nicest person around. Only japanese could pull a drama like this one. There is a limit to how many japanese dramas I can watch in a row before I start feeling frustrated. This one helped me get there sooner. Don’t get me wrong, I liked how it was different and see how both main characters changed, but then the ending came.
About the ending, I kind of expected it but it could have been avoided if police did their job properly. When a child goes missing you first have a proper look at their direct family or household, and you don’t just ignore your suspicions because you only care about what the law says and are not able to see behind the appearances. We could have gotten a completely different ending. Sigh
Keeping things short can be good for the storyline, but if you make it too short then there is not enough time to explore the story. That is what I believe happened with this drama. With only 4 episodes of around 20 minutes each, it was shorter than your average movie and because of that the story suffered immensely.
There is not much to the story and you know very little about the main characters. It had some potential but it just wasn’t long enough to live to that potential.
This was cute. I read the manga some years ago and liked it too. In the manga you could not hear his voice tho,…
But I imagine other viewers might get mad at the ending since his face is never revealed to us. The actor playing him is revealed in the chast, it’s Nagai Kyo, but the voice, which is what made her fall in love with him, is someone else’s so in the end we can’t match Matsubara’s face to either of these actors. I will just remember him with the paper bag on his face and let my imagination decide what his face looks like. XD

This was cute. I read the manga some years ago and liked it too. In the manga you could not hear his voice tho, so the drama made it easier to understand how and why she fell in love with him. I did not mind it that much if I could see his face or not because even if the second male lead was handsome and cute in his own way, for me and for the female lead the paper bag boy was fine just the way he was.
I watched the drama a while ago and really liked the beginning but then felt bored later and skipped around a lot. The movie was a little better (maybe because it was shorter) and although not great or anything, it gave us a nice ending to the story. If you liked the drama, you will probably like the movie too.
I watched it on kissasian and they looked fine to me. Maybe they re-uploaded the episodes.
