Should I tell this? I'll give it a try lol. I have just finished Battle of Changsa.
Why not? It is fully subbed on youtube, or at least it was when I watched it, and if you like dramas about this period, like Battle of Changsa, then you might also like this one. But the stories are completely different. Battle of Changsa is more about war and is more dramatic and tragic. This one is a little lighter and has more romance, although it also has its bits of drama and tragic stories.
This was far from perfect but still pretty good. Although I read some spoilers and thought I was ready for what was coming, in the first episode I was already suffering just knowing what would happen, and yes, I still cried, even when I knew it would happen and when it would happen.
But my biggest complain is not even that. It is that although this is how it usually goes and although I know we don’t really decide who to fall in love with, this was one of the hardest love trianges I have had to swallow. Not only because of the dumb, selfish and frustrating decisions made by a certain character, including the super bad timing, but also because the end game was not the one I wanted or even the one I thought was the best for everyone.
The truth is that for a relationship to last love is not enough. Looks don’t even matter here since they are both good looking. But between a person who loves you and sometimes supports you behind the scenes, but that also hurts you, is not honest with his feelings and keeps pushing and pulling and has the worst timing to decide to go for the final pulling, I would take the caring, always there, less selfish and less arrogant male lead. In a real relationship the second would last longer. Also, if there is something I learned as I grew from a teenager to a young adult is that relationships that start as friends and that become something more because you learn to love each other are a lot healthier and last longer than the typical teenage love story with falling at first sight and failing to see the huge amount of faults in the person we like. These are the kind of relationships that usually have a lot of arguments, cheating and even violence because "love"(if it can even be called love) is the only thing present, there is no respect, putting the other person’s interests in front of mine, being caring, nothing like that.
So yeah, my rant is over. This was one of the love triangles I least agree with and since it impacted my overall enjoyment, I gave it a 6.5. The music and voices were pretty good. Not great (the music, not the voices) but pretty good. The voices were better than the choice of music in general.
Full honesty the trailer is pretty crappy, but the show itself is actually decently good. Not outstanding by any…
Exactly. Like I said there were other dramas with CGI issues and not the best acting but I found the plot interesting. It is not that this one is boring, I just don’t find it interesting enough to keep watching.
I imagine that the story does get better and that the 2 episodes I watched were not enough to guess how the story is going to progress, but with so many dramas that I have watched and so many that I plan to watch or am watching currently, I felt that I would not lose anything if I dropped this one.
And I am also guessing from the opening/ending (that are always full of spoilers) this is not going to have a happy ending, and if it does, it will be after much pain and I just finished watching a drama where the leads spend most time apart thinking it is the best for the other person, when it’s not, so I really can’t handle another drama like that right now.

I did not watch the trailer but I dropped the show after 2 episodes. This is a show that has most of the scenes (at least in the first 2 episodes) supposedly happen in the ocean, with one "important" scene that was supposed to happen under water, yet it is so obvious the actors did not even go near the water that it hurts. The only water they saw was the water that was thrown at them for the scene where they supposedly come out of the ocean.
If the people who made this drama made no effort to make it look real, I don’t feel it is worth my time. Of course if the story was super interesting I could ignore the bad CGI, I have done it before, but even the plot and acting did not impress me.
Dropped after the 2nd episode. I was having a hard time liking the male lead or finding the story captivating enough for me to stay but for me what was the last straw was that the scenes were obviously fake.
If you are making a drama that has A LOT to do with the ocean don’t think you can get away with special effects. I do not know if this was decided because of the actors or the director but even in cheap soap operas from my country when they are drowning or fall into the water, they actually film them under water. They do it several times and then put it together to make it look like they stayed under water longer than they actually did.
Here the actors do not actually go under water or even near it (at least in the first 2 episodes) even when most of the scenes were supposed to be recorded in the ocean. They use a bunch of special effects that look fake and then just make the actors all wet and make it look like they just walked out of the ocean. This is like making a cooking show and presenting us with toy food expecting us to believe it’s real.
If you want to keep watching subbed dramas then you cannot do any of these: -publicly share the link to the page/website/video; -share the video itself; -download and re-upload the video on other places (most of the time taking credit for it).
But of course there are always trolls that do all of the above getting facebook groups, youtube channels and websites taken down or making the fansubers give up because they keep seeing their hard work being shared everywhere even when they keep asking people not to do it.
The main reason this group got taken down is that it had way too many members, anyone could join, they had thousands of people in the group and in the middle of so many there were people who did not read the rules because they did not care or because their english was too limited, people who are trolls and shared the videos even when they kept asking not to do it and of course people who wanted to get the videos to re-upload them somewhere else and get credit (and money) for them.
Why no one subbing this show ????????????????????????????????????????????
I can’t say more because the person did not start the subs yet, but is is on the future projects of someone who subs chinese dramas actively. Once the person is done with the ones she is subbing at the moment, she will most likely start subbing this one.
The person herself should leave a comment here once she starts subbing the drama, if she doesn’t then I will let you guys know when it happens.
I have this drama on my list since I joined over 2 years ago and when I had lost all hope this would ever be subbed I found out it is a future project of someone I follow. ^^
I am actually kind of disappointed as I felt this special ended on the same note as the drama when it comes to the progress of their relationship. I was expecting more. Felt like watching it or not watching it would not have made much of a difference.
The idea was good, the execution not so much but for someone who usually does not like jdramas that much, this one was still one of the most interesting I have watched. As someone already said, I also thought the start was a bit slow, especially when this only has 12 episodes. The episodes near the end were my favourites.
Now I am going to watch the special because the ending here was not satisfying and I need more. It is still raw but I have been waiting months for the subs, it is taking too long and my listening comprehension of Japanese is good enough that I can understand what is going on so I will just watch it right now.
My main question is: where did Danyi's daughter went?! xD
Exactly. Last time I saw this happen in a drama was in Madame Antoine. I personally do not like when they "introduce" characters but they never actually appear.
Although I like most Tvn dramas and quite a few dramas where Lee Jong Suk played the male lead (W, I Hear Your Voice and While You Were Sleeping are a few examples), this one did not impress me. In fact I found it quite boring and took months to finish it even after it was done airing when usually it would take me a week max to finish a 16 episode kdrama.
The story was not my cup of tea, the characters were not that interesting for me, even the main leads and they did something that I can only remember happening in Madame Antoine and that I found quite dumb. They "introduce" a character that we actually never see or even hear the voice of for the entire drama. I personally do not like when they do this because it does not feel realistic for the viewers, the character we never see seems to be created just to give some depth to another character, but if that character never appears during the entire drama, even for a few seconds, what is the point? You either create a character and make it seem real or you don’t bother adding that character to the story since it would not even impact the story that much.
That said, I actually felt that episodes 10-16 were a little better but still not interesting enough for me. I felt I was forcing myself to finish this drama just so I could get it over with and say I watched it.
Of course if you like books and the idea of a story centred around writers and editors you might get more enjoyment out of it than I did. Not that I don’t like this concept, I have watched other dramas in similar scenarios, it is just that the way the plot and characters were written did nothing for me really.
If someone can notify when subs improve from ep 17 onwards? Rn its pretty much unwatchable from that stage
The best solution is to wait for Lan Lan’s subs. She has subbed about half of it and she subs at least one episode per week. For patient people or people who really want to watch this with proper subs, it is the only way I know at the moment.
You could watch the first episode and then the last one and you would be able to guess what happened in between. That is how slow and predictable this is. Is it a bad drama? Not really. But it just isn't memorable or special in any way, especially when you have watched hundreds of dramas before this one.
Don’t give up on it because of that. I disagree. I only watch dramas with romance and this one has plenty of…
I did not know that. That is a good thing. But of course there are always exceptions, so even in Thailand there must be some crazy fans and journalist even if they are few.

Yeah, actually I alredy knew but forgot. They have probably dating for many years but did not reveal it because they knew how much attention they would get, both good and bad, and probably just wanted to have a peaceful relationship out of the public eyes. Some journalists are always trying to find faults to make news and some fans can be pretty crazy...the dark side of being a celebrity.
