What makes this worth watching is the story (most of it at least), the cast and characters they play and the fact that the main leads have plenty of kisses, and some good ones too (considering the thai standard and how usually channel 3 gives us fake kisses). But as usual the last few episodes were somewhat predictable and filled with clichés, some were completely unnecessary to be honest.
Overall it was an enjoyable watch, if you dont mind the violence and the excessive use of guns, which is already a thing in most thai dramas anyway, but at least here it makes sense since it revolves around assassins and the police force.
I had to pause just to say that just from watching the first 5 minutes of the first episode I can already see…
All syndromes disappeared the moment I realized I was set for disappointment. This reminded me of the older thai dramas I watched that I hated and that made me have a negative view of thai dramas compared to other asian dramas (my view changed a bit since then). At first I was liking the story, then I started to feel bored, then it went completely nuts with too much drama and evil characters. With all the evil plans and lack of trust between the main leads, most of the time no one was happy. It was painful and frustrating to watch and the truth is I should have trusted my gut when I first decided to set this as "not interested". Even if I liked the first few episodes, I had to force myself to finish it and at the end I felt nothing but regret.
I am not saying the story is not good but it definitely is not everyone’s cup of tea and don’t be fooled by the sweet first episodes, everything goes down from there and you will be left with mostly pain for the rest of the episodes.
I had to pause just to say that just from watching the first 5 minutes of the first episode I can already see myself suffering from second male lead syndrome.
Edit: after the 5 minutes mark it only gets stronger. SPOILER: "I want to hear your voice for the rest of my life".
The male lead is going to need a lot of effort to beat this second male lead syndrome I am developing.
After reading your comment I felt afraid to watch this but after completing it I wondered if we watched the same…
Don’t worry about your comment, it is not offensive or anything, I just misunderstood what you were trying to say.
I agree that thai dramas can be hard to put up with and not everyone can watch them. I also am not a fan of triangles, especially obsessive ones with crazy characters that do everything to separate the main couple. I like it when they give us a couple that love and trust each other and are respectful to each other and don’t let anyone interfere in their relationship.
The drama you are talking about is probably Kularb Rai Kong Naai Tawan. I also watched that one and I gave it a 7/10 and I rarely give such high ratings to thai dramas.
Great cast, promising story, many funny/romantic moments but it was all ruined by a lacking plot and one of the worst paces I have seen, even for a thai drama. I legit felt as I watched one episode after the other as if the story was not progressing and everything felt very draggy. The last episode was also wrapped up in a very predictable and convenient way. I guessed about 90 per cent of what they would show us in the last episode several episodes before. The cast, chemistry between the main leads and plot were kind of wasted because of bad pacing and some bad and predictable writing, especially in the last episodes.
This drama changed writers from the midway point of the story. From the point of supposed to be saying you're…
After reading your comment I felt afraid to watch this but after completing it I wondered if we watched the same drama. Maybe this was your first thai drama and there was a cultural shock?! I have watched many thai dramas and this one actually had one of the nicest male lead and the evil characters were not that evil. I am not saying it was perfect or anything but about the female lead having to beg forgiveness, well after how much she hurt the male lead even if it was not her intention, one would expect her to do just that. When you do something wrong or that hurts other people’s feelings saying sorry is the right thing to do. Had it been any other male lead from any other thai drama I have watched he would have a worse reaction, maybe even try to get revenge on her (with a high chance of doing it by raping her) so I really don’t understand why you felt so angry at the writers after watching this. I can understand being disappointed because you wanted things to go a different way but you made it sound like the last 5 episodes were complete trash and the female lead became everyone’s punching bag when it was not actually that bad.
It has been 4 years since you left this comment and I think I remember you from comments in korean dramas so I guess you are more used to them. The cultures are very different. I personally mostly watch korean dramas and I have a love/hate relationship with thai dramas. There are some thai dramas that are so mean towards women that I cannot watch them. This one was actually soft compared to some I have watched. But like I said, I can understand your disappointment towards the story itself. I also thought the first half was better.
Same here although you posted this 15 days ago. I'm on episode 6 right now and I already started fast forwarding…
Well, if it makes you feel better, I watched this twice by mistake. RIP me. I left a comment above explaining why and how I felt about the drama if you want to read. Some of the points match what you said in your comment.
I had already watched it around the time it was airing but somehow I had the feeling I had not completed watching it. I knew I had watched some of it because I remembered some things but I was convinced I had dropped it. I only realized now, after re-watching it, that I had already completed this one. Why did this happen? No, I have no memory issues, I actually have a pretty good memory. What happened was it was not memorable. Just like the first time, I felt like I had to force myself to finish it and felt bored and frustrated most of the time.
Here are a few reasons why I think I did not enjoy it as much as I would expect:
1st - there was really not enough story for so many episodes, even keeping it with the usual 13 episodes would already be dragging it;
2nd - this is a consequence from the 1st thing I mentioned. The last half of the drama was mostly the same script recycled. I love you, lets stay together no matter what....We cannot stay together, lets split....I cant live without you lets get back together....Our love is impossible. lets go separate ways.....I REALLY love you, lets be together forever....Again, Im sorry, but it is better for everyone if we are NOT together.....OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I know this is a period drama and that obstacles are used to test their love, blah blah blah...But when you go back and forth, 1 step forward and then 2 steps backwards, it can get REALLY tiring.
3rd - also related to the other reasons mentioned above. The male lead was already in a relationship, kept saying he loved her, promised to never change his feelings for her, asked her to marry him, confronted his grandma and made everyone believe he would do anything for the sake of this love....less than 2 episodes later he is in love with the female lead and could not care less about his girlfriend. Wow, if I was the female lead I would have took a lot longer to believe he actually truly loved me.
4th - not only the male lead, but other characters too behaved in an inconsistent way. They were mostly evil, but had moments were they were kind and then at the end everyone was good. Not like there were evil plans to separate people or to make them look like the bad guys, kidnappings with the intention of selling the person to a brothel and even attempted murder. Very realistic and relatable characters, right?
The reasons stated above are some (there are probably more I forgot to mention) of the reasons that made this drama not memorable and not as enjoyable as it could have been. I am not saying it is bad and it is not worth watching at all. I am just saying it needed less episodes and better writing. Because I did not remember finishing it the first time and because of a MV I watched on YouTube I ended up watching this twice, but one thing is for sure: there will not be a third time.
Had some draggy parts that I skipped as any other thai drama does but overall I enjoyed watching it.
The main leads had good chemistry and there were quite a lot of kisses for a thai drama. The female lead got in the way of the male lead’s job several times and some made her look dumb and annoying but many times her meddling provided us with either funny or romantic scenes, and sometimes both.
I thought the same way until I found some more information. He is not actually pregnant, he just has a condition where there is a foetus growing inside him, I think his mother was pregnant with twins and it was a problem during pregnancy so technically he has his brother/sister inside him growing like a tumour. But don’t worry, the female lead removes it in like the 2nd episode so you won’t have to see him looking pregnant for long (I found it weird too).
I did about a week ago I think but no reply from you yet
Someone took Lan Lan’s work and uploaded it on YouTube so she has been more selective to who she lets in her groups since then to prevent this from happening again. Maybe try looking her up on facebook and send her a PM there. She is nice and she will probably reply to you, but I cannot guarantee you will get access to the videos.
Usually chinese dramas, especially historical ones, are annoyingly long and draggy. This one is the complete opposite. It is so short that things feel a little rushed, a lot is left unexplained and the ending makes you think that this needs a second season. The ending gave me the same feeling as the kdrama Scarlet Heart. I was like: what? this is the ending?
Average thai drama, not bad but not much better than any other thai drama. Really felt it needed more sweet scenes between the leads but the plot and their personalities made it so there was romance but you feel as if it was not enough. The last few minutes of the last episode were nothing new but very sweet. To watch one time it is ok, you can always fast-forward if you get bored but the re-watching value, at least for me, is very low. At least it does not have too many annoying characters and none of them even get enough screen time to make you feel frustrated. Also, their evilness seems like a child play compared to the antagonists we usually see in thai dramas.
Surprisingly good and different. I will try not to spoil it too much but here are a few reasons why you might want to give this a try:
1- the female lead is a fearless police woman who is really good at pretending to be a silly, childish, materialistic and annoyingly loud woman (what we would usually see in a second female lead in any other thai drama); 2 - the male lead does not just say he loves her, he proves he loves her by trusting her and assuring her of that, not like most male leads that say they love and trust the female lead but always believe other people over her; 3 - the female lead does not let anyone abuse her and when she does it is all part of her cover, no weak female lead that always need rescue here; 4 - the male lead’s mother not only is not against their relationship but she LOVES the female lead and want them to marry asap (another cliché avoided); 5- there is a disgusting/shocking twist that we are shown early enough but not right away and that was concealed so well that we don’t suspect a thing until it is shown to us.
I could write a lot more but I don’t want to reveal too much. For me what lacked the difference and interesting plotline that we are given for most of the drama was the ending. It was not really surprising and it followed the usual thai drama ending but I guess it can still be satisfying, just not as much as one would expect. Overall this was still one of the thai dramas I have found to be less boring and less skippable between all the others I have watched.
One question. I am at episode 5 and i know kob loves bua. When exactly bua going to realise or finally love kob...…
Lol, the last drama I watched with him was also kluen cheewit. It is one of the thai dramas that is in my list of good ones I would not mind re-watching.
I honestly wanted to enjoy this and the romance between the main leads had the potential to be a good one, but there were just too many misunderstandings, tragedies and evil people around them for their romance to not feel as bitter-sweet as it did. At the end I was left with a feeling that is anything but enjoyment. I am not saying it is a bad drama, I am just saying not to expect a sweet and happy love story. This was sadly not my kind of drama.
One question. I am at episode 5 and i know kob loves bua. When exactly bua going to realise or finally love kob...…
Yeah, at least we got a happy ending. But I could have done without a few characters that were there just to steal time that could have been spent developing the main leads relationship.
One question. I am at episode 5 and i know kob loves bua. When exactly bua going to realise or finally love kob...…
Hate to break it to you but she does not realize until the last episode and only because someone else tells her: "you love Kob". I was kinda disappointed at the romance in this one, between other things. I like the actors and I think it is a pity they were not given a better script.
At first I was liking it. not loving it but at least I liked it enough to not keep skipping scenes. But around episode 7-8 things took a turn to the worse and the story felt more focused on the supporting characters than the main leads, specifically one that I thought would not even count as a supporting character since she was not there from the beginning. Also, although this is about a fake marriage, I felt that we were not shown as much of the fake marriage plot line as one would expect and the romance between the main leads itself was not something that moved me. And as usual the last episode took the route where one of the supporting characters takes things to the extreme and becomes a criminal. Why do they have to end every single lakorn the same way?
Also, thai culture always manages to tilt me in almost every thai drama. Why is it that when a man does something wrong the woman is expected to just forgive him and worse she is the one who says sorry as if it is her fault that he messed up. I am not saying the character which I'm referring to was completely innocent but by no means did she do anything to justify the man’s action. And not only the writer made her forgive him but also made her say sorry to him as if it was ALL and MAINLY her fault when he was the one who should be kneeling and saying sorry.
I am going to stop here before I spoil it more. But overall I would not recommend this one. It is not bad but there are definitely tons of better thai dramas out there.
