I almost did not give this a try as the plot seemed boring, especially since I had recently watched a thai drama with a similar story. I ended up giving this a chance months later and I could tell from around episode 2 that this was a high quality thai drama but you had to be in a certain mood to watch it. I was not able to binge-watch it for some reason and felt bored several times while watching it but I hated skipping scenes as I felt they were necessary for me to understand what was going on, so I took about 3 days to finish this when I would usually finish it in 1 day, max 2 (yeah, I am a binge-watcher with a lot of free time on my hands).

I enjoyed the first half but the second half felt too makjang (only kdrama watchers will understand). I kept skipping things in the second half and was quite annoyed at the actions of almost every character. The ending was a little better considering the last half of the drama overall. I would say the main problem for this drama is that for episodes that each have the length of a movie, 20 episodes in total is too much. There was no need for so many episodes. I felt they could have made a better drama had they kept it to the usual 13 episodes. Even 16 would be ok, but not 20.

One thing I have to point out is the chemistry between the main leads. You could tell they liked each other just by the look in their eyes, especially the male lead. Yet, different from many thai dramas, there were actual kisses. Not that the kisses were anything special but at least you could tell they were real and not just camera angles (yeah, I am looking at you, Channel 3).

You know that annoying jealous psychotic second female lead that has an annoying voice, acts like a 5 year old most of the time and is always planing something to ruin other people’s lives? Yeah, I am sure you have seen her in most lakorns. Well, if you hate that kind of character then don’t watch this. Here she is THE female lead. Yup, imagine one of those crazy second female leads became the female lead and the drama was all about her antics, that is pretty much this drama. I could not stand it, I dropped it like a hot potato.

I think it have low rating because of a controversy.
Yeah, I read about it later. But I ended up not watching it because I saw some scenes on youtube and read some recaps and honestly it did not seem like my kind of drama.

I am glad I skipped through the rest of the episodes cause this was not only predictable but also boring and the romance between the main leads was one of the least interesting I have watched.

In episode 8, how many times are they planning to show us the black screen of the laptop while the actors pretend to be looking at some reports? It is way too obvious that the laptop is not even on and they keep showing it. Really bad editing. I wonder how this escaped so many eyes before they aired the episode.

Overall this was a nice surprise. It is a lakorn, yes, and it has some of the things you would expect from a lakorn BUT it is different from your average lakorn in many ways. I will try to mention some of them without giving away too much:

1st - the female lead is not your usual weak and crybaby female lead that gets used and fooled by everyone, including the male lead. She is smart and stands up for herself. You slap her, she punches you (literally);

2nd - although the male lead has his playboy ways, this time it is not him fooling around or going after the female lead for revenge even if 99 per cent of the times it is not even her fault to begin with (this is like the plot for half of the lakorns out there). The female lead is the one who is going after revenge and the male lead will be "played" by her;

3rd - You have the usual characters that are annoying and try to split the main leads (ex, mother and sister) #typicallakorncrazytrio. But instead of their plans working and creating trust issues between the main leads (like in most lakorns), the female lead ALWAYS gets the upper hand and turns their plans against them, which can be pretty hilarious to watch.

There were more things that stood out but I cannot mention those as they are spoilers.

I do have to say that it was not all perfect or anything. The start was a little on the slow side for me, although I understand why they did that and the last few episodes also dragged a bit. I would have liked some more romantic scenes between the main leads too, especially by the end. But overall it was one of the best thai dramas I have watched.

LOL to that 1 person that rated this 5 before it even finished airing. I was wondering how bad this must be to have such a low rating before it even reached the half way point. This reminds me to never trust ratings.

For people who watched the entire series, this might have been the best out of the 5 parts. I cannot say much as I only watched this one and way before I watched this part, I watched Khun Chai Puttipat. I did not watch the other 3 stories. What I do remember is that I quite enjoyed Khun Chai Puttipat and this one did not spark my interest as much. I usually don’t like dramas that are split into different stories or have too many seasons because I feel you end up watching just to know you watched the WHOLE thing. I like good and short stories.

Since I watched Khun Chai Puttipat like a year before I watched this one, I cannot say I did not like this one as much because I watched the other one first. I just felt this one was not as interesting. But if you have watched all parts, then you might think like most people - that this last part is better than the others.

It was not really my kind of drama but maybe it’s yours. There is a lot of violence and body parts flying everywhere, literally. I wouldn't say this has horror but it might be hard on someone with a weak stomach. The ending was not bad but it felt out of place, like it did not belong in this drama. Also, it has too many supernatural elements typical of thai culture and I personally do not like those as it is mostly people being superstitious.

I remember when I first watched the CPR scene... I said, "Son must have healed her with the force of his love,…
Exactly. I read you comment before watching it so when it happened it was even funnier. Also, she stayed underwater for too long and was unconscious for a while, in real life she would have at least suffered some brain damage not just have a fever.

I would need to go through my list of completed dramas cause I have watched hundreds of dramas.

Most of it is seeing the female lead being the punching bag for everyone, including the male lead. The sweet scenes are not enough to erase the overly dramatic and violent ones. Not worth the time. What a waste of a drama considering the actors picked to play the main characters.

I was kinda disappointed. I have seen a lot of thai dramas with a similar plot but that are able to keep the story interesting. I liked the actors and characters they played and I liked the first few episodes but then I felt the story just followed the same script of every other lakorn until the end and including the last episode, but did it without keeping it interesting enough for the viewers.

If you like this kind of plot with contract marriage or fake relationship that turns real then you might still want to give this one a try but I personally did not think the story itself stood out from every other thai drama with a similar plot.

The romance is not the main focus here, although it is present. The main focus is the relationship between parents and children. There is comedy and drama and other things added to the mixture. The drama follows the male lead’s life which is a different perspective from most dramas in general that have the female lead as the first main character. Not my favourite or anything but it was an interesting watch and it is probably worth watching at least once.
