I dropped this and wrote about it because people who are considering whether to watch this (or any drama) have…
I was intrigued by your comment. First, I explained why I personally go back to the titles I dropped. Perhaps I'll elaborate. There are times when something comes up in a drama series that greatly discourages me from continuing to watch. I stop watching. However, sometimes there are comments that present information that something interesting to me happened in the drama so I return to that drama. The drama "Stranger" I dropped twice in the first episode, to become my favorite after a year, and I returned to it after reading some commentary. TLP is a title I want to watch to the end, but due to the oversaturation of romance at the expense of everything else, I can't watch it because it makes me nauseous. If I read a comment that encouraged me to return to this title, I probably would. I don't know if it is obsessive behavior, unlike you I don't have a degree in psychology (because you graduated in psychology, since you give diagnoses based on someone's comment, right?). In my opinion, this is the normal behavior of a person who is interested in the topic, but is not an obsessive fan, so they hesitates. You should have been taught in your psychology classes that people have different personality types, which entails a different pattern of decision-making or behavior. Not everyone will behave the way you do, just as not everyone will have the same opinion as you. This makes the world more interesting, although not always pleasant. Do you understand better now, or do you want me to explain something more precisely? I will be of further assistance :)

Good point. A lot of people don't care if I like this drama (or any other drama) and whether I watch it or not. But many people don't care if you or anyone else watches this drama and enjoys it. The information or announcement that a drama has ceased to interest someone is just as important as the information that this drama still interests someone. Both of these pieces of information are useless to certain people, and yet I don't write "stop writing every episode about how wonderful this drama is if it's impossible to watch". Everything is based on individual taste and mutual respect. On the other hand, it is disrespectful to say that someone who dropped a particular drama has no right to speak about it, because not only each of us has the right to express our opinion but also to talk about it. If you don't want to talk to a person whose opinion you don't like, just ignore those statements instead of mocking that person. I'm sorry if my statements seem too difficult for you in terms of language. Correct use of language was taught to me in school and I will not change my style of speech to please someone anonymous on the Internet. I am glad that I provided you with joy. I hope to provide it to you more often. It is really great to talk with people who have such interesting opinions :)
Wish you well :)

also i really want zhao lusi and xiao zhan to reunite in a drama where he is the ML. i started oh my emperor but…
Yes, 2ML syndrome after "Oh! My Emperor" was terrible. It will comfort you to know that most of the audience definitely preferred XZ to Gu Jiachang? At the X-Nine concert in 2018 when they sang the opening song, XZ garnered all the cheers from the audience. This concert belonged to him and this supporting role opened the door to his success. Acting-wise, Xiao Zhan had already surpassed everyone else by at least one class.
I personally was rooting for him and 2FL. She loved him so much!

If you are talking about me, I suggest you check on which episode I dropped and read my mid-season review where I explain my problems with this drama. It's a bit sad that you are doing a half assed job. All the data is available, you just need to do a tiny investigation and actually check some information :) Good luck!

But I like to sometimes visit the topics of dramas that I dropped. Sometimes someone will write a comment that makes me consider returning to a drama. There are dramas that I have tried to watch on several approaches and one of those dramas even eventually became my favorite. I don't think I'm breaking any laws with this? Well, and I can always meet interesting people and their even more interesting view of the world, which imposes their will and taste on everyone. Such meetings are really enlightening experiences about the human mental condition. I usually read the comments and don't comment myself, but sometimes I can't help myself, so much does the other side encourage conversation. I find it very pleasant to talk with you :)

Title The Longest Promise Spoiler
Good romance ?
It depends on what you consider good. Warning, heavy spoiler

She wants it and he doesn't, eventually he changes his mind. Mutual senseless noble sacrifice. Lady boss with no respect for the guy she loves. Puppy infatuation called great love. Romantic scenes and infatuated glances and shrugs thrown on the screen just to make it romantic and pretty. I think a great many young girls will find this an excellent romance. I suggest you watch about 4-6 episodes, you will catch the aesthetics of romance in this drama.

the people who post, I'm going to drop it, do it and stop bothering, nobody cares, just go see something you like.
I dropped this and wrote about it because people who are considering whether to watch this (or any drama) have the right to know the voice of those who like and those who don't like it. That way they can make their own decision. Superlatives about a production are very biased and often mislead viewers. There is no drama that everyone likes, and the person who doesn't like it has as much right to speak up as the one who likes it. Last time I checked, we did not live in a world of dictatorship, where there is only one opinion, that of our fuhrer. So let's respect each other, even if we have different opinions.

Sorry, my comment is as old as this drama and I don't even remember this drama, but I remember that there was a wave of dramas about evil cults back then and I didn't like any of them. They all had the same boring patterns. It was as if no one made an effort to really understand what makes these cults work. I don't see the charisma of the cult leader, I don't see the confusion of the people who join there. There is only "the cult is evil, the leaders are greedy, and the faithful are stupid." I think I'm missing the vibe of the lyrics of the Genesis song "Jesus He Knows Me." So to tell you the truth, I didn't like any of the K-dramas about cults not because I don't like the subject matter, but because, to me, they weren't well written. If I'm not mistaken in the J-drama "Crisis" there was an interesting one about cult, but I haven't seen it in a long time, so I don't remember.

The review posted below contains spoilers.
In season 1 we had relationship building within the team, conflict within ML that led to its development, a clear goal that we could identify with and cheer for ML. In season 2 we have an overpowered bunch who suddenly lost their minds and turned into a pack of idiots And what is this idiotic "We can!" anyway? I feel like I've moved from a pretty decent drama in season 1 to a cheap Hollywood production with all the stupidity of 2023. In season 2 they spoiled everything that was interesting in season 1.

You're welcome. But we really have nothing to despair over. It's just a rumor. Xiao Zhan has many years of work ahead of him and can play xianxia if he finds the project interesting enough. Or maybe we'll love him in wuxia, after all, after Smiling Proudly Wanderer (promo clip for the game) everyone wanted to see him in such a role. Well, and I'm sure he'll look insane in the general's armor :)

What does "mainstream project" even mean in that context?
I had that a year ago, he, he, he :) I was sad because his new dramas don't interest me and I really like his acting. I had a dilemma: watch something I don't like for him, or just let it go? But you know what, Xiao Zhan doesn't just sit in one genre, he tries different things. Even if a title is not to your taste, chances are that the next production will be for you. Me, I'm waiting for the new film in the Condor Heroes series, which is 100% my style :)

I understand you perfectly.
The problem is that although there are excellent fantasy books, intelligent, well-written, interesting, filmmakers do not want to make good adaptations. The best example is Netflix's The Witcher. Henry Cavill, a Hollywood superstar left because he couldn't stand the embarrassment of the series. Xiao Zhan wants to avoid something like this. A good example of a good mainstream historical drama would be Nirvana on Fire and The Rise of Phoenixes. A lot of wuxia productions fall under the mainstream. Good police dramas, morality dramas, legal dramas. There is a chance that not everything will be boring :)

Yes.

This is not about the amount of money spent on production. TLP has a very simple plot and design filled with fantasy elements. Personally, I like fantasy, but this genre is widely disregarded (although it has plenty of fans around the world). You see, TLP is not intellectually demanding, it doesn't ask any important questions, it doesn't show serious social problems. Yes, viewers may see some wisdom in the story, but this title serves almost exclusively to please fans of the actor and the genre and to spend money on it. Marvels, Star wars is exactly the same thing. You're supposed to watch, have fun and not think too much. But Lord of the Rings is already borderline because it has become a classic. The Condor Heroes, for example, started out as a niche, entertainment work, but over the years it became important not just to a small group of readers, but to the whole nation, so it went mainstream. So maybe it's better to say that mainstream is something that appeals to most adults regardless of their interests and TLP-type dramas target a specific group, so they can be as generic as they want.

Only you see, sometimes the mainstream turns out to be so badly done that it is relegated to some niche, and sometimes something niche unexpectedly enters the mainstream. The boundaries are not carved in stone,

Douluo Dalu is an idol drama that almost went mainstream, but didn't enter it. Ace Troops was supposed to be mainstream, but they messed up the plot played by Johnny Huang because they made it a cheap idol drama.

So mainstream appeals to ludis with different tastes and idol drama targets a specific group.

I did not use the word "cheap" to offend anyone. If anyone felt offended, I apologize. It is used when creators use established tropes, make generic stories without much commitment to novelty. "Cheap" because the creators of such a drama do not cost too much effort. They don't need to invest effort and thought, because the fans will be delighted anyway. And that's why such a production doesn't appeal to the majority of the public, so it doesn't become mainstream.

What does "mainstream project" even mean in that context?
A serious drama with serious issues, no fantasy elements, realism alone, contemporary or historical. A good example is WDB.
