can someone explain to me about that scene in ep 1 during the birthday party. why tae oh punch je hyuk?
I think this was the beginning of ep2. if I remember correctly he was kind of hinting that the ML was a womanizer and didn't deserve his "perfect" wife who treated him so well and basically paid for everything. He was halfway in love with the FL and venting on the ML that he treated her like trash and didn't appreciate her.
I don't know how to answer this without spoiling anything. The ending is good, but may not be everyone's cup of tea. It's bittersweet and sort of has a HEA even though there is some tragedy as well.
forgot about another seemingly small (but to me was a big deal) difference in the beginning episodes that is different…
I saw someone mention below that the FL basically "killed" the ML's mother. I'd forgotten about that but I remember when watching the UK edition how I was surprised at the difference. In THIS show, the FL is super heartless knowing his mother is ill and says super painful stuff to his mother and walks away without blinking an eye. His mother dies shortly after, making it seem like her health deteriorated further as a result of that scene with the FL. In the UK edition, though they talk, the mother doesn't get worked up about any hateful conversations, however she does commit suicide by sleeping pills and the FL is suspected for a brief moment of "helping" her MIL get pills to do this. She didn't though. I see a lot of people saying how much MORE ruthless the FL in the UK edition is, but imho, THAT was the reason I felt the FL in this version is a bit more cold hearted. In the UK edition the FL is a bit unhinged and talks tougher, but the cold exterior of the FL in this show scared me more at the beginning. NOW not as much as the show has progressed.

I've never seen so many "hating on" type of comments on any show before this one. Super interesting and makes me wonder... why? I loved this show back when I watched it and even if it was only mediocre/okay... it for sure wasn't at the level for people to trash it like the comments make it seem. I'm surprised.
I'm betting this version will NOW begin to differ drastically from the BBC/UK version. Ep 10 was the first episode to really stray away from the original show.
Most of what happens in ep 10 is not in the BBC edition, mainly because in that version the ex husband doesn't hire that guy to stalk/scare his ex wife at all. I have a feeling that episodes 10-16 will begin to be dramatically different from the original show.
ooooh Director's Cut??? Should I torture myself again??? Yes. Yes, I think I should. Let's see if I feel any differently after watching it through a 2nd time via this edition!
There’s quite a few things changed from the original so it’s not impossible
Also. Just thought of this but the character "SunWoo" the accountant the FL sleeps with for revenge/blackmail in the UK version actually changes his ways and patches things with his wife by the "2 years later" period of the show. However, the ML schemes on him & gets him drunk and he cheats while intoxicated, thus putting the final nail in his marital coffin and alienating them as friends/allies of the FL in the UK version.
Same!! I understand that he’s been through as tough time but that’s not an excuse to steal things or be so…
if they are sticking to the UK version, there's an actual reason for him acting out revealed at the very very end :/ BUT I'm not sure if they'll use that same plot in this show or not.
