"where people are tortured and killed just to expose a culprit they could have simply…ARRESTED."this…
yeah I’m also noticing emperors kill innocent people as a mistake and of course won’t admit their fault…just sensing how life is so disposable

Fair point…they only had suspicion and needed Lai to expose himself, so I’ll give you that. But that still doesn’t solve my problem with the writing. Was the only way to make him reveal himself really to give him free rein while innocent people were tortured and killed? That’s one hell of a sting operation. If your brilliant master plan requires that much collateral damage just to obtain proof, perhaps you need a new master plan.

I understood what the writers were trying to accomplish…I just didn’t buy how they got there. By that point, the plot had become so unnecessarily convoluted that I was questioning the plan more than worrying about the villain.

And yes, I noticed some of the same themes in The Road to Splendor. Thankfully, Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi carried their wonderful chemistry over with them…apparently the writers carried over a few of their bad habits too.

Seven episodes in and this Japanese version feels like a Japanese restaurant trying to serve the entire Thai menu in half the time.

The main course…Sora and Hinata…looks beautiful on the plate, but where’s the flavor? I keep waiting for that chemistry to marinate, yet their push-and-pull romance has become mostly push-away. Then we have two budding side relationships served like banchan at a Korean BBQ…one tiny taste, the plate disappears, and I’m still waiting for the refill.

Meanwhile, instead of using those precious minutes to develop the relationships, they keep reheating the same flashbacks. Enough already…I ate that three courses ago!

And then Thomas and Kong appear for a delicious little 15-second cameo. Loved seeing them, but sorry boys…you’re the garnish. You can’t save a sinking restaurant by putting parsley on the plate.

Seven episodes in, there are simply too many ingredients still sitting on the counter, too many dishes barely cooked, and not enough time left to serve them properly. The Thai version gave us a feast. This adaptation is giving me samples at Costco. And I’m still hungry.

indeed. we can name several that could have been improved with storytelling if they were given more episodes.

They finally lifted the 40 episodes limit that started 6 years ago…this could be a good thing so writing can be more fluid. I’m sure the Chinese audience are excited, but will new Netflix C-Drama fans get used to 50-60 episodes? From my understandinng this should help with the horrible writing and lengthy dialogues that resulted from reducing the number of episodes. Well see but based on what I’ve seen so far in this series, it looks promising. The first episode is already an eye opener.

Title Project XY
This is such a refreshing concept. Incubate Six boys, one house, and a red ribbon to let fate decide the first pairing…no dating-game pressure, no forced romance, just the chance to see who naturally clicks. What makes it fun is that we become the casting directors, watching their glances, laughters, awkward moments, and that spark no workshop can truly create. Before the scripts, the fan service, and any branding turn them into a BL CP, we get to see the raw individuals, almost unfiltered behaviors. Fate may pull the ribbon, but chemistry will have the final word. With only 6 pairs I wonder what surprises will come. Definitely unlike Thai’s model of creating CP’s, I’m going to sip this like a glass of warm tea.

For your comment you deserve a flower. Comedy is the hardest role to act except when you’re already funny together…
TBH not just them. I respect actors first for their art, then who they truly are. I’m so glad we don’t have this toxic environment for actors here in the U.S. after all they’re only human.

I really liked the 1st ep so far, so good 😭 It was actually hilarious too, I laughed so much. YinWar, like…
For your comment you deserve a flower. Comedy is the hardest role to act except when you’re already funny together as best friends which they are, owning their company and comfortable with their skin. So what if they’re straight and likes girls acting in a gay role, gay actors act have been acting in straight role just look at Rock Hudson. To the haters, just keep hating there’s nothing YinWar can do to change that. What matters is that finally they have the balls to be true to themselves and we love them for that. I have yet to watch Love Mechanics now that’s my filler as we wait every week to watch our two police officers create chaos.

YinWar have always been good actors, but on this first Ep they seem much more relaxed and confident in their craft.…
True. This is not forced at all and it shows.

This is hilarious…a sitcom turning into a rom-com, without ever feeling forced. Yin and War’s friendship is so natural that the comedy simply lands; they are absolutely funny together. And it’s only one episode in, so I can only imagine the mischief these two will get into. Their pairing is perfect, the chemistry is sparkling. And I’m so proud of their recent announcement to respect their space, their friendship and whoever the f*%k they want to date.

The series feels refreshingly light, with a catchy OST that is already stuck in my head…ching ching. The fake marriage setup is a classic trope even gives me a little of that Marry Me energy, but with its own wonderfully chaotic Thai BL flavors and spiciness. Just like a perfect Tom Yum Gong - a little spicy, a little sweet and a whole lot of goodness.

TBH Bittersweet doesn’t even come close…this series has more depth in its characters.
I agree. We shouldn’t force people or even contradict who or what they like. This is one freedom no one can take from us. Feel free to express in a respectful way.

Title Match Point
love how they’re already good kissers for a new cp, imagine how they improve in the future ??!! 😳
Yes. They definitely got the sweetness together. The kiss is golden but I feel Ping was definitely going for it and enjoying it more. Just my thoughts

Ping has definitely grown up with his acting skills, what impressed me was Teshow. Good chemistry and definitely letting go of the kiss, playing in a high school role doesn’t test the extent of their skills. I would like to see them in a dramatic role and really see what they can do. They both have potential together.

Argentis in the intro…so I would safely assume produced by YinWar’s company. I loved them in Jack and Joker, one of my favorite straight boys in BL roles, their masculinity shines but their chemistry sparks. Tells you their great friends, and in my eyes I don’t care if their not lovers as long as their enjoying life and what they do. It shows in their work.
