this was such a touching and adorable story. you could truly feel that sense of community between the whole village. the trio were exceptional and i adore their platonic soulmate love for each other. it was simply a beautiful journey from start to end.
If you haven't watched the anime or read the manga, then you can't know if he's doing a good job... I'm not claiming…
i've seen that the creator is completely satisfied with the casting and their performance, as if it was their characters coming to life. even then, everybody always has different interpretations for characters.
c romcoms are notoriously sweet and fluffy because they know their audience and have perfected the formula lmao.…
i actually don't really watch romance much, and ESPECIALLY not jdrama romances lol. i think for the most part they're usually quite odd, not that great, or tragedies with a sick lead. jdramas usually excel at slice of life though. i feel like you just prefer cdramas over kdramas and jdramas which is perfectly fine. could also be a cultural difference thing.

yes i know there are mixed genre cdramas, but op didn't seem interested which is why i suggested sticking to kdramas. it seems like a cultural difference for them (hence why they said cdramas are cringe and kdramas aren't). i don't really have kdrama recs because i'm not a big kdrama fan.

not necessarily kdrama "romcoms" but kdramas in general often interweave romance with other genres like thriller, fantasy, action, etc. i prefer c-romcoms over k-romcoms, but it seemed like op didn't care for it much. most of the cdramas you listed are fluff, melos, or historical which are acquired tastes.
examples of romance in mixed genre kdramas (not recommending, just listing): healer, flower of evil, w: two worlds apart, chicago typewriter, heartbeat, mystic pop up bar, vincenzo (a little), the k2, my name, mr queen, etc.
generally, a lot of c-romance seems to be more specifically romance and less mixed, besides historical. obviously this doesn't apply to every cdrama just generally. it's pretty obvious that op didn't care for c-fluff and prob won't like c-historical either though. they seem to prefer k-content.
