well that's when you just leave a little as a sign of respect for the chef. cdramas don't usually make them eat food because they have to take many, many takes so they'd either have to refill the food a lot or the actor would get too full. based on the time they take to film, a lot of it probably gets cold and goes bad too, hence why they typically spit it out behind the scenes.

i haven't seen most of his works yet, but from the ones i've watched, he was a detective (briefly) in boku dake ga inai machi and in influence

it was an entertaining, very twisted, and messed up story that is honestly quite toxic but gripping nevertheless. i did enjoy it, but i think i would've been able to rate it higher had it been only a little longer. i don't think we got enough of who nana was as well as her neighbor. while i'm sure it was supposed to be left ambiguous, i'd probably enjoyed it more had they dove ever so slightly deeper. twas vv good though

the diversity of his roles is actually crazy. how can he go from a perfect charming boyfriend in one, to an abusive psychopath in another, to a mafia member, to a happy snarky chef, and to a charming detective??? he isn't just a pretty face either, he certainly has the skills to back it up (at least in my opinion). i've loved every one of his roles i've seen so far. he's definitely been shooting up the ranks recently.

it's really good for an action drama, but probably too short to really be anything significant. i thoroughly enjoyed watching, but i'm not sure how much i'd remember a month from now. shame because the whole concept and the characters are quite fascinating.

despite being a very minimal character, mr. misaki was so conceptually interesting. he pretty much came from nowhere and yet had this eerie uncanny vibe to him. if this were longer i would've loved to see him and the other woman more. why can i picture this to be such a good anime??? like blue exorcist but live action lol. still really great overall, i gave it a 7.5.

i saw a clip of dohwan and i'm so tempted to just watch for him but apparently everyone else did and said it's not worth it LOL. still might just watch his scenes then

i mean not really, i'm a story watcher which is one of the main reasons why i watch jdramas. jdramas pretty much excel at unique stories, but yeah i agree that they typically lack in other areas like production value and acting. i actually used to not watch jdramas because the difference in production was so jarring, but i guess i got used to it? some jdramas have quite high production though, just not this one lol.

and i imagine production isn't as high with jdramas cuz not as many people watch them (compared to k and cdramas). like even within japan. international-wise, there are streaming services for kdramas (viki), cdramas (iqiyi), and anime (crunchyroll), but pretty much nothing for jdramas except some here and there on viki and netflix. makes me kinda sad.

i just hope that this one bad jdrama experience doesn't make you turn away from jdramas in general. there are a ton of amazing ones with unique plots, better production value, and better acting. i'm sure you'd eventually find one you love :))

the mom's concerns against ml were valid, but then she was oh-so-happy to let this random ass man take her out. why wasn't she concerned when he kept coming around??? by the second half, every time the villain conspicuously stood in the dark corner with his look at that stupid growl sound, my eyes almost physically rolled out. and of course, he just so happened to be there whenever vital info was said out loud ugh.

i wanted to strangle the monk tbh. i actively wished he didn't live at the end LMAO. i have no idea why he would keep the secret of a ghost trying to MURDER BOTH OF THEM a secret. he didn't have to tell them the reason, he could've at least said "hey maybe don't stay around him, he seems sketchy. i'll tell you why later" instead of watching as they hang out closer and closer to him. it was so freaking dumb. i also really love how he told fml to stay away from ml cuz she's a ghost....and then when she's a human he tells ml to stay away from fml bruh.

by now, every time i watch a kdrama that features the fml getting kidnapped and the ml has to go save them, i'm immediately taking off a star from the rating or whatever. i'm so sick of that plotline.

so so heartwarming, i found myself constantly smiling in every episode, sometimes without even realizing it. warning: don't watch this when you're hungry. that was my grave mistake.

i honestly wouldn't want a korean or chinese remake cuz it'd overshadow the original (as it always does). i do agree with most of what you said though. todome no kiss is quite popular with a really unique plot, but it's far from the "best" jdrama out there. it's a shame you didn't enjoy your first jdrama, but i also wouldn't exactly recommend all the super popular ones lol. hopefully if you try jdramas again, you'll find something you like!

imo i like it better than strangers from hell but i think it depends on how you interpret the show. both kind of require you to make sense of the story yourself so the enjoyability really comes out of how much you understand about the story and characters. it starts a bit slow but it picks up pretty fast

i keep coming back cuz i love this drama so so much and everyone's just calling it boring LMAO T^T

strong first half, weaker second. i was really loving the atmosphere, concept, and dynamic of the first half, but then the second started taking on more and more clichés that made it more infuriating than fun. the villain was pretty insufferable to watch from the beginning (and honestly the monk too). the best aspects were certainly the comedy duo, the ghost hunting with touching stories, and the great chemistry between taecyeon and sohyun. despite their large age gap, they were so so cute together. disregarding some urhguh things that happen, the couple were really sweet enemies to lovers. shame the second half fell so flat for me

hmm slightly conflicted. i love everything about this except the ending. the antagonists really deserved worse punishments or at least a scene showing them going to prison forever. maybe like some court scene where they get their sentence. i feel like at least that would feel like some kind of satisfying justice. iruma definitely got it worst, but the other two deserved worse as well. it feels incomplete because of that missing conclusion. yeah they were brought in by the police, but what happened after that? there weren't even any hints besides their brief testimonies about what happened that night.

i'm at least happy dan x airi happened and he didn't go back to sumire. had me worried for a hot sec. also so happy morio x miran happened. istg if they didn't have a happy ending T^T

but how did he survive after that time skip near the end when he ran out of food and water?
