THANK YOU!!! i always feel so lonely amongst all my friends who usually ship the fml with the sml. even if they're great guys, i always end up just supporting the male lead, no matter what (then again, i have yet to watch true beauty LOL). i think the only two times i've ever gotten sls is when i mistakenly thought they were the male lead T^T and if the male lead is toxic, i usually just want the fml to stay single lolol, sorry smls
it actually surprised me how different this and the webtoon were. i thought there'd be at least SOME similarities, but really the only ones are their names and the virus starting from a hamster bite lol. unless i'm missing something?
i was pretty understanding of nayeon for eps 1-2 cuz i imagine it'd be quite terrifying being in that experience but omfg she really did that to my fave boy gyeonsu WTF. but i think the thing that bothered me the most was how namra noticed and literally didn't say anything until wayyyyyy after the fact. like how come she didn't question her about it before nayeon went in??? or WHILE she was doing it???
Why did they repeat like the same 3 songs throughout the entire show lmao
they actually played a ton of diff songs, esp compared to other dramas, but in this one most of the songs have a similar style (slower, nostalgic, melancholic) so you might not have noticed the difference
i really love how they ended it with enough closure for each character, but even with some plots not fully explored (like what happened with jiung's mom), they ended it in a hopeful way. that life will continue on for all of them, for better or worse. it was a happy ending, yet it still felt melancholic to me and i kinda liked that
ofc, these are just my predictions. i think the show itself will be quite good (hopefully). the webtoon is great, i'm just worried based on the netflix original kdrama trends
Lol its not even talk of the town on social media. And even if its overhyped , it should be. Didn't you see how…
happiness isn't on netflix so irrelevant to this convo, kingdom came out before the squid game craze + is historical and political which are two very hit or miss genres, and nevertheless has nothing to do with anything i said...
i don't really understand what your comment is saying tbh. are you saying it should be overrated aka more popular? my comment isn't saying anything about it being overrated, just overhyped. a lot of people go into zombie movies and shows expecting it to be a masterpiece just because it's from korea, so much so that people often raise their expectations too much and end up disappointed.
and just cuz you don't see it on your social media doesn't mean it isn't there. the trailer alone got 11M views after a week. majority of the trailers on the channel don't even get 2M views. i'm saying after squid game blew up, international fans are pining after the next sk drama hit and this has it worse because it'll be compared to train to busan. what are you cursing me for? LOL
it was so hard for me to enjoy or even watch this due to the sheer amount of long walking scenes. they'd have like a full 5 minutes of the characters walking IN SILENCE. after some time it felt like i was watching a walking simulator instead of a drama. i did like the bits of bromance-ish they had and especially every scene with kadowaki maki, but most of it was so utterly slow and boring for me which was such a shame :(
i kind of think this will end up being too hyped up, unfortunately. obviously, after squid game, netflix has been hungrier for more drama hits and on top of that, these are zombies which means it's almost guaranteed to be compared to train to busan. i don't think the show will turn out "bad" by any means. but i definitely think it'll be so hyped up to the point of being disappointing to many. i'm trying my best to not have any expectations, but i'm surely worried for it
I really used to not question the opinion of the critics on this site but when I saw that they have a preference…
yeah after a few years on here, i learned not to rely on the reviews all that much. some dramas that get low ratings, i ended up loving, and vice versa. along with the drama plot preference, i think a lot of reviewers also get hyped and have high expectations (like for this one coming from the popular school series) that they don't necessarily give it the ratings it deserves :// i'm sure a lot of watchers here were fans of the other schools and expected it to be the same as those
despite all the 9-10 ratings, no it's not a perfect show by any means. a lot of the beginning and friend bits were just fodder for some angst. but still, ohmnon surely deserves all the love and praise for their stellar performance. i think people tend to think bl watchers have lower standards, and while i can't say it's untrue, i also think shows like this are huge steps in the right direction. portraying true love with less and less of the toxic tropes bl is known for, showing a more realistic representation of LGBTQ+, showing genuine chemistry between the two leads (+ a believable amount of skinship between two men without it being some softcore stuff). what an incredible way to end 2021 and start 2022.
so please don't go in expecting the whole thing to be a masterpiece. realistically, it's not the BEST plot with the BEST side characters, but it's a leap in the right direction. it's a happy place, if you will. it's mostly cute fluff, after all.
there are so many things i love about this series and patpran, but i simply adore their relationship. a lot of romances make it feel like the main couple getting together is IMPOSSIBLE, having to overcome countless obstacles, side characters, misunderstandings, and such. this was one of the rare dramas that show you you don't need to overcome all those obstacles alone, you can overcome them TOGETHER. you can grow together. even if those around you object or can't understand, they don't need to. i've seen way way too many break ups over tiny misunderstandings that only serve to make the relationship feel fragile. this was a prime example that you don't need a break up to make an ending interesting. patpran felt strong from beginning to end. they never faltered, hesitated, or doubted one another and that was one of the most refreshing aspects.
EVERY ROMANCE NEEDS TO LEARN THIS!!! TWO PEOPLE SHOULD GROW TOGETHER, NOT BRING EACH OTHER DOWN!!! thank you pat and pran for showing us what a wonderfully healthy, happy, and committed couple looks like. i'll miss this series so much :'))
