So, I know we all love the 3 couples but do you think PeteVegas are more popular than the main couple? I saw a…
It's really difficult to say which couple is the most popular because at the end it all boils down to preferences and from what i saw both couples have very solid "fanbases" and there's really no way to put a number on those. However, the fact that vegaspete have gained a lot of popularity is just that, a fact no one can deny. And again even the reason(s) why some people found them more interesting than kinnporsche is totally subjective and different as both couple offer a different storyline, but i wouldn't say that it's because they are more "raw and passional" as these adjectives also perfectly fit kinn and porsche relationship lol In conclusion, it's always "whatever floats your boat" so there's really no need to compare or really put importance on the numbers! <3
Like every week here are my random thoughts on the new episode:
- I still stand with what i said last week, day and kim are terrible friends to each other, especially day, like you know that your friend is distressed and wants a break from a possible stalker/enemy and what do you do? You give in and say okay bestie go back home with the stalker dude aka my mafia boss <3 (tbh itt would have made a much better friend) - Let's talk about the mansion because that must be the "ikeaest" version i've ever seen of a mansion. I can't believe that a rich mafia boss's master bedroom is storage room size??? And did they recycle kim's room decorations cause they be looking too much alike... -You know what i said about the 5.8 rating being too low and how this series did not deserve it? Well i take it all back lol The kissing scene alone deserves jail time and will probably go down as one of the goofiest scenes in bl history. Kamol was giving 14 y.o practicing their first kiss on their pillow energy but instead of a pillow there was kim. Except, young teens have still more game than kamol because for god's sake you can't tell me that those lips were touching, the pretending was too pretending iykwim... -Cherry and Jin (sammy) are the only charismatic characters in this series, i said what i said. If a character like cherry was in any other bl i would probably hate her but in this, they're making me root for her. She's the spice, life and everything's nice of this show <3 - Unpopular opinion but the tattoo is not that bad, the design it's actually really nice and well-done (i think they did it with an aerographer which is a lot of work so i'll give them that), it's just that it doesn't suit yoon's back, especially because of his size :( - The soundtrack is still horrendous as ever... makes everything look like a teleshopping ads - Baiboon is my innocent summer child but i'm still confused about his age, it appears that they did not age him up as they're talking about his first day of school so i assume that this is going to become even more problematic very soon.
I have to say that this episode was at least a bit more entertaining than last week and from now on we're entering some resemblance of a plot so there's that. Humor-wise this series never fails to crack me up, they are so unserious in everything they do so unintentionally funny and it's honestly the only reason i still tune in.
okay i don't like how there's this urban legend going on that if you criticize the show people will jump on you. I've been lurking here since the very beginning, i've literally created an account just to interact with other viewers and post on this page because of how the atmosphere here was so "positive" in comparison to that toxic bird app, and since the show started i've never seen users attacking others for their criticism of the shows (sure there has been some personal attack from time to time and some trolling which they might be related but this happened very few times), what happened and continues to happen is just people responding and giving their own thoughts to the comments other users decide to post which is the whole point of this. I don't know if you are aware of how forums or comment sections work in general, but they exist to interact between people with the same interest and who share or don't share the same thoughts. When people respond to you and they don't agree with you respectfully, it's not an attack and believe it or not it's not to invalidate your opinion, we're all just trying to interact and maybe make you see another point of view which you might haven't considered before (and which might change or not your initial stance).
Btw let me petty just for 2 seconds, i respect all views but i draw the line at people unironically rating the acting below 7, that to me automatically gives you the hater's label (for the more dense people out there i'm joking but it's really confusing seeing low ratings on the acting like can someone who thinks they suck elaborate on that? ^^')
People in the reviews think they can speak for the whole audience and say everyone who watched this only watched…
The "criticism" related to the nc scene really bothers me especially because those rated scenes don't even make 1/10 of the whole series. They focus so much on those 4/5 nc scenes of a few minutes each that i feel like they are the ones that watched it just for the sex. Also, i don't understand what even is the big deal of those scenes, they are well-executed, tasteful and relevant to their story so i don't understand all the fuss, also yes sex is normal, it arguably plays a major role in a lot of relationships, so what so strange about it? is it because it's two men, therefore, explicitly showing it makes it fetishizing and weird? Straight series can have all the sex scenes they want but when a bl show does it, it's a problem? mmh that's weird, so weird that i'm tempted to call it homophobic lol.
Saw this on twitter and damn i'm just so sad for porsche (and kinn), in a sense their story is as "tragic" as vegaspete, just in a more subtle and between-the-lines kind of way. Idk i'm happy that both couples ended up together and are "happy" but i'm also so sad because of what awaits them :(
"Y'all realize that Kinn's grandfather kiIIed Porsche's maternal grandparents and that whole side of his family, and 'took care' of his mom. Then his sons took away porsche's parents and korn was 'taking care' of Porsche. Damn. To fall for kinn was such a twist of fate for him." cr: https://twitter.com/apologyapo/status/1546174166453620736
I see some ppl complaining about the plot holes (they have all the right to do so) and for the first time in a…
Tbh i don't even think there are THAT many plot holes as some make it out to be, some viewers just don't pay enough attention to the screen and call it a plot hole lol... And in regards to this episode, i don't think that there are any plot holes per se, they are just many openings and unresolved issues that pave the way for a second season.
Here again to call out the people in the review section, can we please stop using the word toxic in regards to everything that is not ideal or every slight unhealthy way two people might use to cope with and face the obstacles in their relationship? Thank you. Just a tip, instead of dismissing everything as just toxic, why don't you try to articulate your feelings and reasonings for why you think it is so, you know reviews don't have a character limit and they exist also for that reason, to articulate what you like or dislike about something. And btw what's with the rating? With how many people are being hypercritical about the series i don't expect the rate to be super high but c'mon what is this...
From what i know, the second season is yet to be confirmed, they are still in the consideration/talking process. The only thing that has been confirmed by the authors themselves is the sequel of the books.
So i want to begin by reminding you that everyone can have their own opinions in regards to the plot, execution, delivery, and all the other elements, i'm not here to discuss that because there's no wrong or right opinion and fighting opinions is just dumb HOWEVER i feel the need to address and give my own opinion on one particular point that is been brought up too many times during, and now after, the show and that is the "bad acting". So being the noisy individual that i am, i always look at the profiles' of these people because i'm interested in understanding where they come from when moving these types of critiques and let me tell you that i wasn't surprised in the least that for most of these people it was their first thai series and approximately 7 out of 10 had come from kdrama watchers. So before starting my rant, which might be a bunch of bull but since this is the last i want to go all-in, i'll introduce myself: hi everyone! I've been a tv series watcher for most of my life and an asian drama enjoyer for the past 15 years and let me tell you when i say that the first time i watched an asian drama (i started my journey with the kdrama winter sonata) i was weirded out by the acting is an understatement, especially because i was mostly used to classic american series. I immediately found the acting really "bad" only later to realize that it was not the acting that was bad, it was just different, a different way of acting (as in mimicking daily behaviors which i was not accustomed to), very different from the ones i saw in american or more westerns series. When i got used to korean dramas i then jumped on the j-dorama train (precisely i started with the iconic hana yori dango), and let me tell you that i was once again weirded out by the acting, the way they acted was very different and while they had a "similar" vibe it was still a totally different way of acting (as in behaving) and spoiler alert that was because cultures and societies influence they way one's acts, behaviors that are later on mimicked in tv series. For instance, let's think about the amount of cute/innocent acting in asian dramas, even in more dramatic or serious ones, as a westerner you might call it cringe and forced acting when it's actually not: in a lot of Asian countries acting cute (i.e the aegyo, kawai and saijiao phenomenons are a real thing) it's pretty "normal" which means that it's not bad acting, it's just a way of behaving most of us are not used to. Well you got the drill, this "culture shock" in the form of acting happened to me every time i jumped on a series from a different foreign country which i've never had any experience with before, but the worst shock i got was probably from my first thai series (love sick, the og of fluffy bl out there) which threw me into a completely different setting from the ones i was used to: the everpresent and weird humor, the dramatic, the way of acting, each of them totally different from all my previous experiences. At the beginning, i also considered it bad acting but then watching more thai dramas (bl and not) i understood that it's wasn't bad acting, they were just mimicking different behaviors from what i was used to (NB: not saying that bad acting doesn't exist in thai dramas, it does and it's kinda everywhere nowadays as companies prefer cute faces over talent, but i feel that to really call a performance bad acting you must have some kind of "benchmark", something that some kp watchers have not hence why a lot were weirded out by the humor, the cheesy acting and others behavior). The thai drama industry is VERY different from the korean, japanese or chinese ones which is why when watching a thai series i try not to compare it to other asian dramas because to me they follow different parameters which is something that it's almost palpable. So yeah this was a great series THAI style and had a lot of great acting (not saying every single one of them was oscar worthy but overall they were all great nonetheless). I want to make myself clear that this not me trying to stop future critiques of this show or even the acting, like i said everyone's thoughts are valid, this is a message directed ONLY towards the ones who have no experience, or a very limited one, with thai series and uses drama from other countries as their "benchmark", just a reflection in hope to make some of you see things from another perspective. Well in conclusion i was just here to say that the series had some problems (which are minor to me) but the acting is not one of them.
Btw, no matter if at the end you liked it or not, i had an amazing journey on this platform, the vibe was almost immaculate and everyone was very kind and open-minded so even if we don't know each other and i didn't interact much i want to thank every single one of you for making this experience so much enjoyable, and i'm sure that from time to time we'll meet each other again on this page or under the comment sections of other dramas so this is not a goodbye, it's a see you later <3
So the concept and plot sound very promising but if i have to be completely honest i don't have high expectations, especially because of who the director and screenwriters are (all their works turned out to be either underwhelming, disappointing, or complete trash. But who know maybe this is going o be their big breakthrough, fingers crossed), and while i think that there are some kinda good actors/actresses in this i don't know if they really have the talent to deliver a more mature/angst/drama-filled performances (and yes i saw the trailers and i'm not completely sold). I'm still going to give it a shot because it looks like something different for a change and i want to see more of billyseng and, my absolute favorite couple from y-destiny, torufirst but i can't help but have reservations about this one.
Random thoughts on this new episode: - not even 5 min in and the editing, especially the sound effects, has once again taken the cake: kamol's entrance with those unsynched footsteps' sound effects and the slow-mo was poetic cinema! -Kamol's jealousy and his "my way or the highway" kind of attitude is one of the things that i hated the most in the novel and the one thing i hoped they changed in this but unfortunately it's here in his full nonsensical glory. It's just so irritating, like why can't you just pursue and date kim, if you want him so bad, like every other normal person on this planet?? And you know what he would probably fall for you faster than whatever the f*ck you're doing now. Why skip to the living together step that normally comes after months if not years of knowing each other? Pure nonsense. -Also, what's with the editing of their voices, one moment everything is crystal clear and the next is like we watching this during a scuba diving session. -The korean always take me out, like what was the reason, why korean, just why... -The random product placements are so... so random and out of place like i know that they have products to sponsor to get that bag and they have to put it there in some ways but making these 3-seconds scenes where you see someone drinking a glass of some pink potion is so unserious. - Cherry should just move on, she could do so much better than "failed dom" kamol, she probably has her own hidden agenda to be this obsessed with him but still. -Day and kim are such shitty friends to each other, they're so into their own worlds that they only care about themselves which is not what friendship is supposed to be but it is what it is. -Kim running away was the highlight of this episode (which says a lot) and just like every week the climax scene was carried by my girlies, they are so hilarious (in a good way) <3
Overall this episode was a letdown, episode 2 was more engaging and entertaining while this on the other hand is just a filler with lots of ads, but knowing where this is going i expect the story to pick up from next episode/episode 5 so let's see what they have in store for us!
I apologize in advance for the very long rant but i feel the need to call out some of the reviewers
I'm not one to fight or get angry at people for their own opinions on a show because it's just fiction and it's not that deep but some people in the reviews' section not only have literally the attention span of a fish, (like, you can see a lot of people mentioning "plot holes" when most of the time it's just them not paying attention to what is happening on the screen or just not wanting to wait for said "plot hole" to be resolved), but they also like using words they don't know the meaning of, i've seen too many times the words "romanticization" and "fetishization" being thrown around carelessly, without any proper explanation of why they feel it is so, and this is something that really irks me because these words are slowly starting to lose their meaning to become umbrella terms for whatever people feel like they mean. So let's go take a look at what the oxford dictionary says but before that a reminder of the warnings given at the beginning of every episode: "Characters, behaviors, places, agencies, occupations and events in this series are FICTIONAL and for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO PROMOTE ANY ACTION IN THE SERIES. VIEWER'S DISCRETION IS ADVISED" These are the warnings that appear at the beginning of every single episode and they are the same warnings that some of y'all like to disregard every single week just to say "this series promotes..." No, this series has no educational purpose which means that it does not promote anything, and it has been written, said, and repeated over and over again by everyone at this point, directors and viewers alike. Do you take fiction too seriously? Are you one of those people who think FICTION has a direct impact on reality? Well, i'm sorry to inform you but that's on you, it's not the series' fault, and this is also why there's literally written "viewers' discretion is advised" a warning that you consciously decide to ignore just to complain about everything that you have been warned about (also, it's a MAFIA themed series, what the hell did you expect? pls someone enlighten me because i still don't understand the expectations you have for this series. The portrayal of high moral standards, standards that most of the time are also unreachable in real life? Pls don't make me laugh). If you see a warning that says "don't touch" but you decide to ignore it and proceed to touch it just to get hurt, whose fault it is? Exactly. Now onto the definition of these 2 words:
- People claim that the series romanticizes abuse, rape, sa and so and so forth. Setting aside the warnings, let's take a look at the definition: "to romanticize means to make something seem more attractive or interesting than it really is" So by this definition and your claims the show makes abuse/rape/sa better and appealing than they actually are. Sure, but may i ask you where this happens? Are we talking about the dubious consent/sa/whatever you consider porsche and kinn's first time? Are we forgetting that episode 5 exists? Are we forgetting that they clearly showed both porsche and kinn struggling with coming to terms with what happened and all the repercussions brought by that night? How did the series make what happened in episode 4 better when we see porsche literally breaking down? Because it clearly does not, you don't see what porsche has gone through because of that and say, yeah i want that too! it's so cool! Or are we talking about the abuse against pete perpetrated by vegas? Even that, how does the series make the abuse better or good? Can someone elaborate on that? And since we are on the topic, the vegaspete storyline is really complex, and no i'm no saying this to sound elitist or to make it seem more deep than it actually is, both vegas and pete are two very flawed and broken individuals and weird as it sounds they found a bit of "solace" in each other, something that does NOT stem from the abuse and if you think it is then i believe you missed the point of their whole story (and i'm sure y'all are also the same people who believe that vegaspete are in love when if you paid attention you wouldn't call that love, at least not yet). So in conclusion, however you want to look at it, the show does not make anything better or more appealing, for every action there's a consequence and that's life, people make decisions, and sometimes they make shitty decisions and go along with them but it does not mean that the show romanticizes those decisions.
- Let's move on to the fetishization argument. Some of y'all have accused the show to fetishize m/m relationships but let's take a look at the meaning of the said word "to fetishize means to get sexual pleasure from thinking about or looking at a particular thing". If you think that the series fetishizes m/m relationships just because it shows two grown men with a high sexual drive/libido acting according to it and having sex and showing their affection to each other physically, then there's the door, go back on twitter where nonsense is normalized. And also if the only thing you got to comment about from 13 episodes is the 5/6 nc scenes which are no longer than 2/3 min each, then i have bad news for you. Not to mention that every nc scene has a purpose, they tell us something about their dynamic, their conflict, their inner feelings, etc, they ARE important. I know that having multiple nc scenes that are not straight-up in yo face fanservice is strange but believe me when i say that if you left those scenes out, their story would lose something, we as the viewers we would have lost some understanding of these characters. If people after watching this decide to fetishize or overly obsess with m/m relationship irl (which is gross) that's on them, the show does not carry that responsibility, not when they were all very clear of the aim. The show is not responsible for people's actions and thoughts.
In conclusion, i beg y'all to stop throwing around words you have heard others use when they don't apply to the situation! And again sorry for the long rant but from time to time some things need to be reminded <3
As much as i like shit talking about this series, 5.8 after 2 episodes is just wrong especially when another infamously "bad" bl series has a rating of 7.1 #noshade
In conclusion, it's always "whatever floats your boat" so there's really no need to compare or really put importance on the numbers! <3

- Unpopular opinion but the tattoo is not that bad, the design it's actually really nice and well-done (i think they did it with an aerographer which is a lot of work so i'll give them that), it's just that it doesn't suit yoon's back, especially because of his size :(
- The soundtrack is still horrendous as ever... makes everything look like a teleshopping ads
- Baiboon is my innocent summer child but i'm still confused about his age, it appears that they did not age him up as they're talking about his first day of school so i assume that this is going to become even more problematic very soon.
