She can't simply kill him like that because it would have thrown the country into anarchy. Mingyu's character is always trying to maintain peace and balance. Furthermore, though she doesn't love the Emperor, she doesn't hate him either.

No, she hasn't chosen power over Chengxu. All her decisions have been forced on her, and most of them are for saving Chengxu, that's all she cares about. Chengxu knows but can't do much because he's still too vulnerable to help her. At this point, their physical mortal bodies don't mean much anymore; their relationship is at a higher level.

This Su Yu Ying is Xiao Chengxu's wife but appears in the palace with her aunt all the time as if she's one of the Emperor's concubines. She attends all the functions and join in all the gossips. Poor Chengxu has to tolerate such a character for years. No wonder he rather dies in battles than staying at home.

Yeah, I was hoping so. I thought nothing had happened that night, but apparently, they really did it! Dang!
