QuJinChenQing, Wei Wuxian's character song... this dude really went through a lot (@ people who haven't watched…
That's the beauty of the OSTs of this drama. They are amazing. Each character song describes a trait within ourselves, or someone we know. The lyrics are so true and touching. Like for the Xue Yang's song, who hasn't done wrong and regretted? It really stabs me in the heart. These musicians are really geniuses. Kudos to them!
My withdrawal remedies: 1. Re-watch the drama 2nd, 3rd and 4th time. 2. Read the novel 3. Watch the aneme (damn good!) 4. Watch all the ads of Lan Zhan and Wei Ying
I'm onto episode 7. Can anyone tell me why the engagement is being called off? I thought that they liked each…
Because the parents felt that both kids were reluctant with the marriage, especially Jing ZiXuan. He humiliated Jiang YanLi, and got a whack from Wei Ying.
It is true that this drama has a lot of holes and flaws, but as fans, we're willing to overlook the imperfections. We'd prefer to look at the development of our favorite characters and their interactions. We love the feeling these characters have given us. That's enough to send us over the cloud. XD
I’m watching this drama for the second time, paying close attention to the details, like every word said, every expression made, every symbol revealed, but most of all, the sound tracks played, either vocal or instrumental. This drama has the most beautiful sound tracks I’ve ever come across. There are so many character songs and tunes for places and moods. I have not come across any other dramas which have such high number production of fine music. I love all the tunes including the scary and dark ones. I can’t help but list out the ones that keep playing in my mind long after I turn off my hi fi system:
1. Yi Nan Ping for the Jiang YanLi (shijie) character. https://youtu.be/xdSoQgkMHok. It’s so beautiful yet so sad, it makes me cry. It encapsulates all the memories Wei Ying has of his shijie, and the three of them growing up together. The love and respect they have for each other is just so wonderful. It is so touching for me because who hasn’t gone through growing up with one’s family, be it a short one?
2. Qing Xin Yin played by Lan Zhan to clear the heart. This music is really soothing and calm. It helps me work and concentrate. Not a music major myself, but the music clearly switch from a calm positive tune to a dark minor tune reflecting the exact opposite of the mood. I have to kudo to the composer who had written this piece. What a masterpiece!
3. Lian Hua Wu (Lotus Cove) – happy, carefree times Wei Ying has with his closest family and friends, eating lotus seeds, drinking lotus wine, eating lotus spare rib soup, and all the fun and silliness he experiences. Whenever I hear this music, my mind would conjure up all the scenes of Wei Ying and his happy times.
4. Wu Ji (Unrestraint) - whether vocal or instrumental, describes Wei Yiing so well and the things he wants to do – so heart warming and touching. Whenever I listen to this music, my mind would visualize the scene of Lan Zhan playing the guqin and Wei Ying playing the dizi. It’s the most beautiful scene.
Someone has already asked the question, but I’ll ask again, which ones touch you the most and how?
Definitely is the characters that makes this drama, especially WWX. He is a very fun and charismatic character.…
Yes, the feelings this drama has given me - laughter, tears, happiness, heartache. Almost experiencing all the emotions one can ever imagine. Man! Such a unique drama.
Imo it's the script that manages to keep and convey the heart of the original novel story. Novel story is already…
Yes, the scriptwriter is awesome. Even though I have not read the novel like many, I would not be able to tell the difference, and yet, I, like many, love it.
Well said. Even with religions, we have the open-minded ones like yourself, and the bigots. I don't know what religion you have, but for the Christians, I read somewhere that one must embrace everyone, not just a selected group.
I keep reflecting what makes this drama such a success as compared to other historical dramas airing at the same time. “The Untamed” does not have the large scale high quality cinematography as they have in “Novoland: Eagle Flag”. It does not have the best CGI nor the best looking costumes as they have in “Love & Destiny”. It does not have a ‘regular’ romance story as they have it in “Love Better Than Immortality”. This drama even has some pretty bad supporting actors as those playing the zombies and the disciples of the sects. Then, why is this drama so loved? Apart from the story itself, it has the most beautiful sound tracks played with classical Chinese instruments. Its visual director is the best in creating an anime style fantasy for its main characters. But most of all, “The Untamed” nails it with its characters; it has a very inspiring character played by a very authentic charismatic actor, Xiao Zhan. Bravos to all!
1. Re-watch the drama 2nd, 3rd and 4th time.
2. Read the novel
3. Watch the aneme (damn good!)
4. Watch all the ads of Lan Zhan and Wei Ying
I’m losing my mind! :0
