i cried so hard on when lu xixiao kept on begging her to come out
We all did! š Iām wondering though, if ZW moved to another town (she packed her bags) or did she stay in town to go to school? I mean, if she lived at her grandmaās house this whole time, wouldnāt LXX have found her
Ep20 was brilliantly angsty and agonizingly bittersweet! Strangely, their separation was so cinematically beautiful that I will surely find myself re-watching this episode over and over š
Uh guys Iām gonna stop here at episode 17. I can smell the calm before the chaos so this is the finale for me…
Iām in another kind of conundrum. To stay with the daily episodes because theyāre cute together or hold because we know thereās more angst down the line š„°š¢
Epi17 - PURE FLUFF! This is what a summer romance drama is about. Uber worth the time that was put into watching this show. Dazzling could never! š
MLs are unfamiliar to me but Iām liking their chemistry and acting. Didnāt even know ZKY was a singer and loving his OST as well as main OST š¶
Epi16 - If youāre in the medical field, turn off your patient health information legal knowledge and let the kdrama logic move the story forward by creating another conflict š¤¦š»āāļø
I recently have a thing for unhinged characters because of Affinity cdrama and this was a good next drama choice to help me move on from that cp.
I liked how the plot twist becomes the satisfying ending of a fast-paced story of a psych patient (loved the crazy acting of ZC with a few doses of dimples) and his Doctor (who also has some unresolved past)
Thoughts on ML: contains spoilers until last episode...
How often does he show up for the rest of the show? Iām at Epi10 and so far heās probably appeared about 3-5min per episode. The rest of the vengeance and bloodshed is fatiguing that Iām considering dropping. CYX is so cute though
A sweet fun watch that didnāt take too long to finish. It was slow burn at first but the kisses were worth the wait. CYX looked cute here but I wasnāt partial to his ponytail hair with the heavy thick nape. Of course he looked great as a doctor **Affinity** š«¦
This was 1 of those rare RomComs in Kdrama that I found to be highly entertaining and fun to watch, with great dialogues between the main cp. The fantasy-element that was implemented in the storyline was confusing at the end but luckily didnāt overwhelm the outcome of of main characters obtaining their HE.
Although all the actors portrayed their characters well, HNJ will be most memorable to me with his plethora of facial micro-expressions in his portrayal of an arrogant-lonely-man-turned-whipped-downbad-lovebird-for-his-woman. Itās so obvious this manās face has never been affected by Botox or fillers because every facial muscle ebbed and flowed into his angered furrows, moody scowls, happy smiles, sad cries, and mischievous thoughts. Ugh, canāt wait to see more of his projects
I had to drop this cdrama after 14 episodes ( with a lot of FF) because I felt like I was watching paint dry. CYX (loved him in CEO business attire) and FL seemed fine with fitting their roles but that couldnāt save the repetitive storyline. The worst part was the annoying 2FL character ā getting the flat-out friendzoning from ML and still whining and pining over him for multiple episodes. Ughā¦I abhor those characters the most
Affinity and CYX brought me here and I loved HTTYK. My original love of drama watching have always been the RomCom genre and this cdrama fit my cup of tea - an easy fun watch with impressive acting and chemistry all around, a well-paced storyline with minimal filler plots, clear character development and gorgeous cinematography. I normally avoid historical palace intrigue but didnāt mind it here because it didnāt become repetitive..
CYX did well with this role switching portrayals ā I couldnāt help being enamored with his masculine role and giggling the next with his feminine role. Especially loved the FLās strong character portrayal that comes to a deep realization about the naive path of life she initially chose. Also impressed with the 2ML in his role switching skills too!
Rated 9.0 with high re-watch value.
P..S. Donāt ask me how I gave Affinity a chance when it never fit my fave genre but now Iām in search for more like it if anyone reccs
Skimming a few of the comments here after binge-watching Affinity. Although not comparable, Iām guessing and hoping this SM cdrama will be along the same lines as Affinity? Will I be ready for annother intense edge-of-seat drama?
Currently watching light easy cdramas LIL and HTTYK to mellow out what the Affinity CPs did to me š«¦š
I saw a few clips of the ācowboyā scenes of Affinity on YT at beginning of year and initially passed up on this whack cdrama. The funny lamp scene actually brought me to give it another chance from Epi1 and I was hooked on this incomparably addicting show! Although CYXās facial features werenāt impressive to me at first, this boyās acting in Affinity is sooo fiercely captivating and now Iām watching his other projects (currently LIL and HTTYK) and debut talent show (his dancing skills are so mesmerizing).
After a few decades of Asian drama watching, Iāve become quite critical of my MLs and their acting talents. This boy, CYX, has impressed me with his uber talented acting versatility, by matching up to his different acting roles and chemistry with his FLs. Definitely following his past and upcoming projects to see him in larger-scaled productions!
They change it from the novel. That is supposed to affect them in a certain way in the future. I don't even know…
Iām so tempted to read the novel now but Iām slightly invested in these actors. Never seen them before and Iāve been impressed so far.
In most cases, screenwriters donāt fully transfer all of the original novelsā details to the production screen but at the very least, they should keep core parts of a character. Ughā¦
I doubt you'll need to pick it back up. At most you could watch until the part where they celebrate chinese new…
Thank you for saving me so much time! The drama had so much potential but the cpās interest in each other slowly fizzled stale when they went back to school
