Re-watched this fave and just like a plethora of times before, it’s climbed back up to my #1 re-watchable jdrama romances again.. The sweet innocent journey of young adults getting to know each other and discovering their common hobbies while slowly navigating their angsty feelings/misunderstandings/experiences just tugs at my heartstrings. Although their budding friendship started off as a secret via an antiquated system such as a notebook, they softly grow to love each other quietly — without any selfishness. Ugh, just writing this makes me want to re-watch this beautiful production again 🥰
Very fun light watch with great chemistry. HZ does not disappoint with his acting and his portrayal of this overconfident retro heart throb. Yet again, his natural golden skin tone allowed to shine in this cdrama too
Came for more of HZ’s golden skin tone after “When Fish Swim To Land”. Not expecting much because of the 7 rating but happily stayed for this costume cdrama’s sweet enemies-to-lovers CP and well-written and storyline. Each time the CP were together on my screen, my fantasy romance heartstrings were pulled because these actors portrayed their characters so well. Also, the gorgeous OST helped pull my heartstrings too.
Absolutely didn’t touch the FF skip button and enjoyed every moment. I’ve always hated palace intrigue but it was nicely paced here, not long-winded at all and easy to follow. Also loved all of the support characters here, even the evil ones because they didn’t have drawn-out screentime. Which left more time for good characters and their comedic timing.
I gave this a 10 rating with high re-watch value and will pop it into my faves list 🥰
My favorite genre and this was a cute oldie cdrama to pick up as a light fun watch. Story was nicely conveyed and solved. I almost didn’t watch this due to the age-gap tags but so glad they were adults when meeting!
Not sure if I’ve seen it before because some settings (his office from inside and business on outside) seem to give me deja-vu. I loved the expressive faces of CPs and had never seen their other projects
I watched this fast-paced cdrama by accident while searching for an enemies-to-lovers trope. This turned out to be a 2nd chance romance — with the cp’s angst and chemistry fitting right up my alley. I liked the 2FL’s plot twist at the end.. The insufferable 2ML was such an annoying character that I had to FF those bits and not sure if he had redeeming qualities

I guess revenge was the main drive of FL’s character, causing her to betray her first love a few times over but the revenge plot execution here was quite underwhelming
This cp’s ending, as well as 2nd cp’s, was satisfying with a perfectly lengthy dating era. Plenty of cute…

His character is supposed to be a love deprived, agonizingly reckless person who was abandoned and ill from psych issues. Instead, we got a time skip and he’s only dated a girl for a few days in those 10 years apart from FL
🤦🏻♀️ FL character claimed that she fell first in love (2013) with ML. That doesn’t make sense because she was acting contrary to being in love by continuously pushing him away throughout their adolescence
😴 Be ready to bear through the pain of business mumbo-jumbo so FL can inflict her mini-revenge on ML’s dad
😠 2ndML did not have to simp and use leverage to ask FL to leave ML. They made his character epically pathetic so many times. He finally came through by saving the cp but the actor was hilariously stiff-backed (no hate lol)

I’m not familiar with him nor this novel character prior to picking this up this cdrama but his acting was quite impressive on the 1st half of this drama — which was what originally pulled me in.
Sadly, I agree with your comment that he hasn’t portrayed the complexities of this love-starved-miserably-betrayed-artist in the latter half of the airing episodes. Not exactly sure if the bad editing had something to do with it but I feel we have lost the plot

Oh now I get that scene through your comment. It was totally lost in translation for this US drama watcher and I wasn’t convinced by the CPs acting there as well as throughout the last few episodes. I’m slightly annoyed that she moved in when they’re not communicating about their past transgressions
Re-watched, not remembering much of the storyline until it unfolds and I’m bawling my eyes out with this beautifully innocent young love that’s enduring all setbacks

It was a sexy and cute scene but so misplaced with the follow-up scene of LXX going to her neighborhood while she was dining on the streets. Their adult era is confusing!

I came to the conclusion that ZW’s company is contracted with Aunt’s business proposal, which she won against LXX’s Dad’s team (he didn’t want her updating what he had already worked on 20 years ago). LXX knowing that inside knowledge is now going to willingly join the family business so that he can use his leverage to oppose and/or pursue ZW
Edited to add after Ep22 - I’m confused with why bot of ZW and LXX’s companies were contending for Phase II of project proposal but yet the Aunt is still their boss? 🤷🏻♀️
Ep21 - I caught the gist that LXX was telling his Aunt that he wasn’t going to give up pursuing ZW, which prompted her to give him insider knowledge of ZW being involved in the Aunt’s business project. Looks like LXX business suits era!!!
Reading this comment section makes me 1) happy the ML has more empathy than many of the commentors and 2) concerned…
I haven’t scrolled down this comment section today but I’m glad you’ve posted and summarized what I’ve seen during the past week. I’ve easily ignored most of those comments that have horrible grammar or a new account — it seems haters have an unlimited amount of time in their hands 🤷🏻♀️
As for the more concise comments that verge on the unpopular opinion about unrequited first loves, its quite possible these people are reflecting and hurting from “simping” another person in their lives or have never felt this kind of deep affection before. Sadly, there may also be a rare amount of drama watchers that are devoid of an empathy bone and are here trying to sort it out while judging for having an empathetic skeleton 😂
