Ugh I know. This happened in the Legend of Dugu. The dude the FL initially loved and who loved her back wasn't going to live past 30 so they didn't stay together and it reeeeally pissed me off! They both ended up settling for other people and not being nearly as happy as they could have been together for the remainder of his life. I really hope they don't do that in this one.

Ming Lan is such a special drama. I was able to get two different people who can't stand asian dramas in general to watch the entire thing, I can't believe how good it is. It's impossible (for me) to find anything even close to it. But if you did like it and want to find some other truly quality c dramas try All is Well (2019) for a modern one and Battle of Changsha (2014) for a good ass war drama.

Omg yes. Mark Chao would be great too but the moment you mentioned Wallace I could actually picture him in the role. His expressions and his eyes especially remind me of Gong Yoo.

Hmmm I disagree with Xing Zhao Lin, I think someone like Tong Meng Shi would better be able to pull it off. Everyone else was super spot on though! I think Mark Chao and Wu Qian would be perfect as the leads.

I mean, I think it's just personal preference. Jennifer Lawrence generated HUGE hype in the states a few years ago while I personally can't stand her. I love Yang Mi and thought she did a great job in 10MOPB (but I still think Mark Chao def outshined her and the rest of the cast).

That's why I said "kind-of similar". I didn't mean it was an exact copy I just meant the concept of a princess marrying for an alliance and the amnesia.
