how about people can differentiate between what type of person they're attracted to in real life vs what type…
well, that may be the case, but I personally don't understand why my taste in men would be different in fiction compared to in real life.
I mean I won't deny that I have guilty pleasures sometimes but that's only because I'm viewing the story from an omnicient point of view.
Also, I feel like it is still the same, because apparently my relationship goals for fiction, as perfect as they seem to me, are still not everybody's relationship goals.

Or they just like Lee Min ho
I loved LMH 6 years ago, he was with no doubt my favourite Korean actor, but I still hated it sooooo much.
But I'd definitely wouldn't count the very high possibility out

Title Meteor Garden Spoiler
I just finished ep 8 and I had the biggest revelation.
From reading comments I know that most people love Si the most, and though I like him too (now), I know I'd never date a guy like him because, even if he is the most honest about his emotions and sincerely cares and loves her, there are still moments I can just hardly tolerate. For example when he drags her around, commands her what to do, pressuring her to be with him even if she tells him she isn't his girlfriend, cornering her and evading her personal space and making her feel uncomfortable.
But I just realized that even if I don't like it at all and want to be treated like an absolute princess by my boyfriend, there are people that like being treated like what I consider to be a little too rough. because if we just erase the frighten and the forced kiss in ep 4, he was somehow very nice to her and didn't commit any crimes.
So my big revelation is, that my picture of a perfect guy (someone soft, caring and calm) is just not everybody's dream guy.
I know it sounds dumb but I really never thought about the fact that my (kinda pretty feminist) view on a romantic relationship is not for everybody and that there is no right way to date.

That said, Shancai still feels uncomfortable, so I still believe he should stop with it and then again, since I know she'll fall in love with him, what he does doesn't seem to bother her actually that much, also considering, that she never calls him out on evading her personal space and treating her like his possession, even if she is very outspoken in everything else she doesn't like.

Edit: after reading your replies I just want to say that most can distinguish between reality and fiction. However, dramas like this still promote and romantacizes behaviour like this, what I just cannot ignore.
I do like the story and I do like Si, but there is just not enough talk about how some of his behaviour should mostly not be tolerated in real life. We talk about it a lot in Social Media but why can it not be criticized in fiction?

I read it as You I Love, like It's you that I love
and not You, I Love as in You and I and Love
I mean in the end it really makes no difference

Thirty but seventeen
Love @ seventeen
Suddenly seventeen

... honestly what is so great about 17. When I was that age it was pretty shit because they would view you as an adult but then again you were still a minor ....
... maybe that's the appeal?

I was the same when I saw that happen in ep 4 tbh. I wish it never had because that is the one thing I hate about…
thank you, I feel at ease now. I also wish they would've just leave it out. It was already hard when he scared her and hindered her from escaping but than that forced kiss and her screaming and weeping. It was just too much.
but I am glad his behaviour changed. maybe I can now watch it.

Hey @Lovely I understand what you mean that, for me watching that was also uncomfortable but later on the drama…
I meant if this behaviour recurred but you and @dramas2heart already answered my questions and worries. thank you. now I can continue - I think.

guuys, I am at ep4 and he just secxually assaulted her .... I don't know if I can do this. it's a major red flag. You know how this behaviour ends IRL????? not good.

someone tell me if there is a similar scene from the male lead after that. I can barely get around the bullying but if it gets this physical I need to stay morally correct and boycott this.

I just wonder why I should bother watching a drama if I already know that it is definitely going to end tragic? I mean, even if it is after a real story, just surprise me while I think that maybe you surprise me with a happy ending.

This has like my favourite people but at some point I only cared for Cindy alone. Gong Hyo Jin is my all-time favourite actress but I only wanted her with Cha Tae Hyun, so my baby IU could be happy with Kim Soo Hyun.

My Mister is "the best rated drama", because it's the best that has been aired last 2 years. Every new drama here…
I know that the most popular shows have a complete other list but it's mostly just that those very popular dramas brought people into Kdramas, they have a lot of nostalgia, but they are still not rated the best.
best example is boys over flowers again. most popular but a lot of people don*t really like it. You'll read a lot of "the best drama because it's my first drama" and when you go to best rated dramas you'll read comments about what they actually liked. that they loved characters and plots, that certain plots were extremely moving or engaging. people start analyzing and all that.
also, the most popular dramas are just based on how many people watch them, ofc you'll try to watch some classics, when people recommend dramas to first time watchers it is usually something that peaked their interested at the very first beginning.
and I disagree, not everything just get's blindly rated, they just rate it how they like it. It*s just that you*ll sometimes don't .
