I really hope these kind of dramas are starting to become a trend because it is so great at using important real…
I just want to remind everyone that this drama has:
1. a man that likes cleaning, which is generally viewed as a woman's job 2. a woman who takes birth control pills as a countermeasure for her ovulation pain 3. another woman scared of males who has to gain her trust back for men because of course "not every guy's like that" 4. a woman that stopped caring for her boyfriend only and started to live for herself instead 5. a homosexual man that is not portrayed as feminine, that hat to come-out to family and friends and how he was accepted and rejected 6. an unmarried single mother that has to stand up against the cruel buisness world lead by men 7. a plot arc about sexual assault and mentioning of the #metoo movement 8. male leads that are caring, understanding and very respectful towards women in general and not only to their love interest 9. interesting female characters that have their weaknesses but are strong leads in their own kind of way 10. another point of view at cleaning ladies/ cleaning jobs that does not bring them down and degrades them as dumb or failed in life 11. a heterosexual, non-feminine guy that get's his nailes done because it's cool 12. the struggle of employment and making it big 13. none of the important characters is considered rich, money in general is not the focus of anybody
I feel like there is more but this is already pretty damn good.
I really hope these kind of dramas are starting to become a trend because it is so great at using important real life problems and situations for an interesting plot.
Below you'll have a list of issues I noticed so far:
I agree she looks much older than she's supposed to, but so are many of the other characters, so she doesn't stick…
Yes, it is actually Cha Eun Woo who is not perfectly casted, he doesn't look like a deliquent either but I think it's okay. It is still enjoyable, nothing that should keep one from watching.
I'm thinking of making a list of his behaviour but that'd mean I'd to rewatch it.
I don't see how it being "so much lighter than previous versions" is an excuse for it still being not okay. I don't have to watch the other versions to find it absolutely unbelievable that people don't even comment on all the wrong doings.
Watched it! I loved that they both danced to New Face in Knowing Bros. Cha Eun Woo was just too adorable and perfect.…
Yes. It was actually my first time seeing him in a variety show and I also only thought that he was just a face, but he is actually very funny and smart. Also, I know he is in Astro but I still thought he was casted for his face over his vocals. I was wrong. I now put down all the prejudice I had.
guys, go watch ep 137 of Knowing Bros. Both Soo Hyang and Cha Eun Woo are on there and they're both so delightful. It made me more patient for the next episodes.
damn the last half hour of the last ep had me shook. I rarely get shocked by something like this but I was really not expecting that. I felt more anxiety in the last 30 min than compared to the whole drama.
The biggest problem with all of your analysis (and many others) is that just because someone likes the story does…
Well, it's not that easy. I may be aware of the dangers of behaviour like that now because I am an adult. But if you would've asked me when I was a teenager I would've found this absolutely swoon worthy and I would've wanted a guy like that and I wouldn't have thought about him actually not changing his behaviour for our love. I am able to distinguish between reality and fiction, that's why I sometimes wish for the death of fictional characters but I'd never go as far in real life. But I cannot help feeling so alert when I see something like this in fiction because the Meteor Garden franchise (though I've read this one is the most harmless so far) romantacizes abuse. I just cannot love something in fiction what I'm totally against in real life. Also, I never said I don't like the story, because I am mostly actually talking about a character here. If I hated it I would've stopped at ep 4. So far, I am just tolerating most of it because the female lead doesn't feel as bothered by it as I am. And that's just basically what my comment is about. Everybody argues that people have different tastes in real life compared to fiction, but what about people like me who prefers the same type of romance in real life and in fiction? If you look at it from my point of you, most of it is just wrong.
how about people can differentiate between what type of person they're attracted to in real life vs what type…
Ay, ofc i know that nobody's perfect and even the perfect guy has his imperfections. I am just very particular when it comes to abuse and manipulation. It's something I am personally very scared of and like I said I never thought of how even the smallest kind of abuse in my eyes is not necessarily the same for other people. I am not judging Si (anymore), I do like him now and I look at him as a character with development and there is nothing more I like in a story than when characters learn from their mistakes and get "better". So I may not ship him with myself (haha) but I do ship him with our female lead. and yes, I rarely watch Thai dramas. the whole "slap'n'kiss" genre is something I cannot wrap my head around.
