Ah!! Now that you mention it.... I'm just always laughing at Kira and finding him cute that I totally missed to…
Yeah, after they hinted at Asahi's past, that convinced me that they're definitely going to give Asahi a proper relationship.. and it'll be Kira hahaha.
I felt the same too but despite being this "new Kira", he still is the same Kira that we know but even more brave and more "human" after hearing "As long as we take one step, the world will change". I think they'll definitely have Asahi be with Kira so I'll be cheering Kira on :D
I just realized they completely dropped the whole wearing masks during pandemic thing after Episode 1. This was probably because they only needed a reason for Hidaka to give Mochizuki a mask maybe.
Not that I'm bothered about it all that much but just something I noticed.
Anyone else feel bad Kira got turned down like 3 times in EP5 ;_; I know Asahi has her reasons but seeing Kira being honest and real to her (to her and her only) but she turns him down so hard I feel so bad for him lol but at least he doesn't seem too bummed out about it. At first, I didn't want Asahi to have a romance plot for her seeing how she seems content on being alone and I was thinking from episode 1 already that the drama would show from her character that being alone is completely okay but now I don't know anymore lol, I'm rooting for Kira but at the same time I want Asahi to be alone if that's what makes her happy
was it just me or did it look like Kiriyama Ren almost cracked a smile/laugh in that scene where he asks Meguru if he was going to accept the offer?
I watched the first episode and unfortunately didn't like it.. :( it was very boring and full of cliches.. the…
Felt the same for the first episode and am at EP3 atm, the cases do get slightly better/serious but pretty much the executions as to how they deal with and resolve the cases are so frustratingly bad.
The police is still completely useless (failing to be funny also) and Kazama, who's still incompetent as a detective, is still stealing all of the credit from Anna. Kinda disappointed that this drama turned out to be lame, despite the simple plot, I was excited for it. The writer hasn't written that many shows either and this is his first detective drama.
Why is everything in EP3 done so carefreely and carelessly? From Anna and everybody else in the amusement park barely reacting when a bomb just went off to the police and Nemesis themselves with barely any plan on how to face the current case at hand. And how is Tomomi, a mere stranger outside of the case, calculating everything but essentially making assumptions about pretty much everything and everyone in charge of the case just goes along with it?
Again, Kazama hogging all of the credit from Anna, no idea why she's okay with it or why Kazama doesn't feel any guilt for stealing the credit and simply repeating back what Anna tells him to say.
What a great first episode, how I've missed Sakuragi-sensei! Loving the throwbacks when Mizuno says "even the…
Hayashi Kento appearance and Saeko (returning character) cameo!! Wonder if Kobayashi got to become a star like she wanted to be. Hoping there's more cameos to come~
Sakuragi's past was rather dark, I did not see that coming but I'm glad that they're making this drama more serious than the prequel.
And I love that Sakuragi is still frank as always but also 5x badass than he was before, and I'm so glad they didn't forget the motorcyclist-delinquent/gangster turned lawyer part of his character, he was so cool in the latter half of the episode. A bike chase scene right off the bat in the first episode?? And Sakuragi entering the school grounds and entering the school building on a bike?? I love that they're actually showing that he used to be in a motorcycle gang as opposed to just saying it but never really showing it in the prequel.
When he had the two delinquents eat their own medicine by filming them back, it was so satisfying. He had calculated everything according to his plan, by showing what happens, asking their motive and showing that they refused to help. I also really like that they're even giving Sakuragi actual enemies this time as opposed to having 8-10 teachers with zero character screaming at him all the time and trying to get him fired like in the original.
If I had one thing to nitpick, the opening and ending song (if there is one?) are rather underwhelming. Maybe it's the nostalgia for me but 2005 Dragon Zakura had an actual opening with a catchy, fun, memorable song and had an ending song sang by one of the main leads in the drama, Yamashita Tomohisa. Was hoping they would reuse the opening song but maybe it wouldn't be fitting because this drama is more serious.
What a great first episode, how I've missed Sakuragi-sensei! Loving the throwbacks when Mizuno says "even the ugly and stupid can enter Todai", which was one of the few things Sakuragi told everyone in his speech in the first episode of the prequel when Mizuno was still a student., so nostalgic~
It definitely feels like you're watching the original Dragon Zakura but at the same time, it also feels new and refreshing because they've adapted the plot set in today's world (with technology and social media) and society (such as people taking out their phones to film instead of rushing in to help if there's a incident about to happen in front of their very eyes, etc). Really like that they're taking a serious approach to the drama because it was a more serious episode than I expected and the prequel was just a light drama so I'm glad they didn't just completely remake the prequel with different actors and called it a day. This time, there's a variety of diverse characters with more backstories including Sakuragi's and even the teachers and the upper management this time while the teachers and even the principal in the prequel were all just one dimensional characters.
So glad to see Abe Hiroshi & Nagasawa Masami reprising their roles again and they're doing a fantastic job at playing their characters once again, especially Abe Hiroshi as Sakuragi, he's nailing his role. Can't stress enough how great this first episode was, I already have a feeling this will top the classic 2005 Dragon Zakura. I don't think you have to watch the prequel to watch this one but you'll miss out on some cameos and references. As if I had any doubt in the first place, this drama already looks promising and I can't wait for the next episodes~
