So is the elder brother the bad guy? I still don't understand why he invited Mio to work?
My guess is that he only wants Mio around mainly because of her fame on YouTube and the TV show he was on, I don't believe that he offered a job to Mio because of her field and to consider her advice etc. I think regardless of whatever Nagisa says, he'll still have the resort built. It's clear that in episode 2 that he, like David, only cares about money and is only after the financial gain out of having that resort.
But I don't think we know just yet, that shot of him looking at the miniature resort in ep 2 is ominous.
Hmmm... I'm a bit confused though.. was Rintarou's project different from David's? I thought they were trying…
Rintaro's project is the tower but David also suggested instead of building a pier that they should have an undersea tunnel that leads to the tower and Rintaro seems to be on board with the idea it but Rintaro eventually finds out from Nagisa that David doesn't care whatsoever about the impact it has on the sea as long as he gets to gain the most profit out of having that particular facility on the resort.
and that's exactly what ticks off Rintaro. He thought Rintaro and David were coming up with a plan to ensure the tower (and tunnel) is built while considering the sea. Nagisa reminded Rintaro of what the sea meant to him (which they've only hinted at it so far) and told him about what David thinks after Nagisa told him about the repercussions that come with the tower and tunnel. This changes his mind thanks to Nagisa so he most likely wanted to cancel the tunnel idea or possibly the entire project itself or work around it but it was too late considering Kotaro had already went into business for himself and confirmed/agreed to the construction of the tunnel.
We don't know yet what he means by "destroying" what he hates in EP1 when he accepted to take on the offer of working on the project though but I think Nagisa has convinced him otherwise.
that's great im hoping for their appearance as guest role in this drama...
I can definitely see Koike Teppei, Nakao Akiyoshi and Hasegawa Kyoko appearing. Seeing Gakki show up would be a genuine surprise too, I doubt Yamapi would show up unless they had already filmed a scene for him back then
I'm not seeing that much negativity, I've only seen one person but I do agree if they don't like what they're watching, they should just move on to another show or stick around for later episodes.
I didn't expect S2 to be a big hit because of the low ratings of S1.And Season 3... I don't know what to feel…
S1 received low ratings in Japan?
Well, seeing how successful season two was on Hulu and JP audiences apparently seemed to love it, this is great news for the fans. I personally don't know what to feel about it either seeing I didn't finish season 2 lol and I don't expect the writing in S3 to be better too.
Following the final episode after it finished airing and huge success of season 2 on Hulu Japan; since the start of the drama, the drama has been on #1 place for viewing ranking on Hulu (JP) for 4 consecutive weeks and is the biggest hit in Hulu original domestic drama category, season 3 has been announced and is in early production. Takeuchi Ryoma will reprising his role as Hibiki in season 3.
First episode was a great watch, I think it's already one of the more promising romcoms or dramas in general from this season. While it seems like a light drama at first, they do tackle current issue in society like social media. Kurumi works hard in her job, mainly caring and focusing on people's reaction than the value and meaning of their lives that we need to appreciate more and there's Fujino to remind her of reality and just like the synopsis of the show, to learn to take off her "armor" and live as herself.
Really pretty warm visuals everywhere (the cast themselves as well!) and neat effects too that they have on screen at times and the BGM as well. Gen Hoshino's Fushigi song at the end there, again, just *chef's kiss*. So good. The theme songs for dramas this season have been on point.
Maybe it's just me but the first half of the episode felt like Mukai Osamu was the male lead and not Ryusei lol.
