omg all of these comparisons these anime fans nitpick, keep an open mind and try to appreciate it as its own standalone…
"Why should I 'keep on open mind' about it? Just because you say so?" I legit wrote as to why people should keep an open mind when it comes to live action manga adaptations, I'm not planning to repeat myself.
"have you ever thought about that for one to know whether they like an adaptation or not they must watch it? Imagine if one said "oh, I didn't watch it but I didn't like it". oh please pinpoint the comment where I said they shouldn't watch it to decide if they like it or not.
"If they don't like the different takes, then they're free to not watch it, nobody's forcing them to like it." I'm saying if you don't like the changes, you're more than welcome to stop watching. Nitpicking and comparing every single detail only makes the experience less enjoyable for you to appreciate the show on its own and also makes you sound petty.

is it that hard to appreciate the changes when it comes to an adaptation from the original source? Manga fans are always going after the anime if an anime failed to adapt an arc that was in the manga or misrepresent a character and then anime fans are always judgmental when the live action adaptation of said manga or anime is different... like can't we just appreciate the changes? It's a cycle that never stops. Most of the time an adaptation of a manga (or etc) changes things up, sometimes it can be interesting and new and at least it keeps the franchise fresh. Take a look at the 2015 Death Note drama for example. While they did change a lot of things, it was still one of the best adaptations for the Death Note series. If they want an evil ML, they can watch the anime. If they want a more sympathetic ML, they can watch the live action.
If they don't like the different takes, then they're free to not watch it, nobody's forcing them to like it. If people watch the anime or read the manga and they're so keen on comparing it to the live action, nitpicking and focusing on if they adapted quite literally every single detail perfectly be it scenes or characters etc from the source material, like this character doesn't have pink hair and green eyes like in the anime or this character isn't tall enough to play this character, they'll absolutely enjoy it less and that's on them, they don't get to truly enjoy them and appreciate them as its own thing. otherwise, diehard fans of whatever series they're into just sound so petty and bitter.
go ahead and complain on their twitter lol, I don't know why they took her off the poster considering apparently JP audiences love her character. I'm thinking of storyline reasons tho
i can recommend some of the best manga live action adaptations out there if you'd like because this idea of Japan…
Most live actions are adapted from mangas, not anime. But that's not even true, if you check out live action manga adaptation when it comes to films, admittedly most of the time nowadays they're either a cashgrab or really good. There's Rurouni Kenshin, Gintama, etc, which are some of the absolute best live action movies. There's a lot of dramas out there that are iconic; there's GTO, Hana Yori Dango, Gokusen, Nodame Cantabile, etc just to name a few.
This idea exists because anime fans aren't willing to step out of their comfort zone to watch jdramas and they've only seen clips of live actions so the consensus by anime fans is that they all deem live actions to be ALL ENTIRELY bad; which is just disrespectful to the cast and staff who've worked on the projects. They would nitpick the smallest things, they would insult the actors, compare this scene to this scene in the anime etc.
*Most* anime fans check out 1-2 actual bad film, finds them terrible and never bothers with j-entertainment whatsoever and deems them all terrible so they're all shunned collectively by anime fans unfairly. It is outright disrespectful and annoying to see comments like "all live actions are bad" or "live actions should never be made" all. the. time.
edit: i don't mean to rant but it's genuinely frustrating to see anime fans bashing on live actions
Not that there's anything particularly wrong with wanting to do more movies than dramas but it's very uncommon afaik
