so am I the only one here, who didn't get the ending -_-
I can explain it. Its first important to establish the difference between the movie and manga since its a little different. 1. When Kasane first explained the story during her school days about the first time using the lipstick and how she got the scar. When the girl fell off and died, she slashed kasane's face that wasn't actually hers. The girl died and faces swapped back giving kasane the scar on her real face. At this point she rushed straight home and her own mother Sukeyo Fuchi (The famous Actress) who had to recognized her own daughters face and explain the magic behind the lipstick. Same point, the girl (Ichika) that died by falling off the roof had to be recognized by her own mother on confirmation of her death. The scar remained as a reminder to Kasane on what she has done. 2. Kasane's mom had a chained dungeon in the basement to keep the victim alive to keep stealing their face. In the scene you could food and water, so if the victim died you could no longer steal their face. Corpses dont work.
3. Near the end when Nina and Kasane fell, they were both on the verge of death, having both being kinda bonded and tied having both shared each others lives. Since at one point when they fell they either had a moment during death or on the verge but Kasane was the one to come to. She kissed Nina and ran back with her face on stage. During the end of the play when she was on the stairs holding the head you could see the faces monetarily swapping back and forth, something the manager had noticed and was surprised to see that kasane still kept Ninas face. The final scene with her holding the head you can see Nina's face and Kasane's scared face holding Nina's head. This is meant to symbolize that she took everything in Nina's life and claimed it for herself being in love and infatuated with her beauty. After she snaps out of it, you can see Kasane still kept Ninas face which could mean Nina really died on her way to the hospital. Kasane finally reclaimed the stage due to her acting and kept her Nina's face as a sort of deserved gift with the audience applauding her. The fake becoming the real thing. Where as Kasane's mother was a fake pretending to be someone else through manipulation and deceit. Kasane rejected her mother's footsteps and remained true to herself and was rewarded in her own right.
Guys. Where can i watch it? Other than blitz or dramacool? Thankyouu
please support the subbers directly instead of watching on the streaming sites that steal their subs. This drama for example, can be found on the subber's own website: https://blitzfansub.com/
This is the description I got from the manga : One day, on a whim, 20-year-old Minato dresses up in her friend's…
oh, the description mentioned above (from asianwiki) makes it sound like she accidentally lies to Tooru that she's someone else but from the manga's description, she intentionally lies to him about her identity.
This is.. totally incest lol. Based on the synopsis, she can easily confess that she lied to him and be done with it but I'm guessing her character is probably the super shy, quiet, unconfident, submissive type that you see in most shoujo manga live actions.
American audiences poking fun at Satomi's English is really unjustified. She wasn't told that she'd be having lots of English lines when she got the role so she had to quickly prepare herself for those and the director kept changing lots of her lines so that certainly didn't help. She became excited after accepting the role but stressed that her character features "English-heavy dialogue", stating, "Sometimes it's so frustrating, I just want to cry.". There's a YouTuber that worked on the movie and was in charge of the English dialogue for her (and everyone). https://youtu.be/4PAwXsNFcC8?t=134
Her English here sounds just fine here on the other hand. I think if she spoke casually (like always) like in this commercial, https://youtu.be/Oyc56C866fo then she wouldn't gotten lots of comments regarding her English but the japanese audience doesn't seem to mind or be bothered by her English in the movie considering the movie is targeted towards the japanese audience (especially the story here) after all.
Plus, the american audience likes to poke fun at this character who's supposedly a native speaker but have they taken a look at their Hollywood movies themselves and the asian characters in them? An american actor completely butchering a foreign language, no one bats an eye but an asian actor misspeaks English, let's all jump on them /end rant
Holy hell the last episode had me EXHAUSTED. Absolutely fantastic drama, you do not wanna miss this. The cast, the acting, the music, the story, the cinematography, all on point.
And the sweets too ofc, look lovely. Hard not to crave a wagashi after watching this.
