Good god, was this movie so heavy and a lot of the scenes felt so realistic, they made me so uncomfortable. Especially the way they shot certain scenes by having no music and just screams and cries of terror in the background was unsettling.
At one point I thought the "One day, Shuhei kills his grandparents" shouldn't be mentioned in the synopsis but it really added to the tension and the suspense when you know it was coming.
Tanaka Kei has been the most in demand actor this year, but his late found popularity push him to some shitty…
Recently he's also kinda known for sleeping on set and there's like several pictures of him sleeping everywhere lmao. When on set shooting for Unsung Cinderella, they posted a few pics of him sleeping and there's one where they gave him a pillow lol.
He has so many roles in dramas and movies in this year alone, I'd imagine he hasn't gotten that much sleep. So far he's doing good in this drama, Kiwadoi Futari and Unsung Cinderella. I can't speak for the rest though.
I don't mind the daughter addition, might add to the story. It's good that they're trying something new instead…
That's what I was thinking too, I was like "did she just swallow the seed somehow". Also Tatsu used a knife to open the rambutan? Where I'm from, people just use their fingernails to open it. Maybe it's his househusband side of him? Hahah
i have never seen any of her work but pride was on my plan to watch list for over a year now and tbh i don't think…
I'm on the same boat as you but this is a classic and one of her classics as well. I've never seen her works either and I think it'd be a shame if you were to never watch it.
Take your time and watch it when you feel like you're able to do so
I was aware of the bad reviews on the comments here so I tried to keep an open mind on this movie. Surprisingly I somewhat enjoyed the first half but the second half bored me so much. Since every one's not putting spoiler tags and spoiling everything, I'll just say what I think too (and what everybody will be thinking after watching this). The second lead syndrome hits HARD here. The only likable people in this movie was Kosuke and Adachi.
only 8 episode? Half of korean dramas. at least make it 10 episodes.
how to tell someone's new to jdramas 101:
Not every show needs to have 16 episodes and be dragged on and on and have filler episodes. But this drama was cut short because of the pandemic, hence why it's 8 episodes and the last episode is a 2 hour special.

I really liked Hana Nochi Hare but I wasn't a big fan of the last episode. Love the cameos too
(these three do have suspense and romance but romance isn't the main focus)
