Just having a discussion.

Not really sure who between us is worked up.
If you are worked up, please feel free to ignore my posts, don't really remember asking you to read and comment on them.

Otherwise, please just stick to the discussion than trying to analyze people's emotions.

Agree about the drama not meeting the expectations, which incidentally was what the original post was about & me adding to it.

Alien or unbelievable. Again, it;s not dating or wanting to date. talking about pure physical attraction here.
But if a 15+ year old person tells me they have never been attracted to opposite gender, I would assume they are gay or lying.

That's all I am saying about the ML in this drama.
On top of that the drama makes us think he is Gay for few episodes.

What are you talking about?!

You seriously want people to believe a grown man has never felt attracted to any woman until he meets the one woman he marries?

I am not talking about dating or showing interest in a woman. Being attracted to opposite gender is the most common thing for humans. That does not mean dating or showing interest.

What I am talking about is how a grown man in this drama is shown as fake Gay.
Him not dating or showing interest is not issue.
It's basically the drama showed his sexuality being suppressed until he met the FL, like he did not reach puberty.

If we have to be even brutal about how the ML was portrayed, it was like some one who touched himself only when he peed and even then he shook it only once.
That's NOT how men and women are.

If a person is socially mobile, the chances they would have partners increases. The ML in this drama has been socially very mobile since his teens. Given his background and talent, there would literally be dozens of girls throwing themselves at him even in High school.
in real life, guys like the ML don't need to work hard for girls. He practically would be swimming in girls even before hitting his teens.
It's the same as being the hottest and most popular girl, the guys would just queue themselves for a date.

If these dramas want to make something like this stick, they should not make the ML so perfect from the minute 1 of the drama.

the girl can't act for shit....the rest are okay. the story is also boring and confusing as hell.
The love story was confusing as hell for me too.

For first few episodes, I thought the ML was gay.
They had a montage of FL and he ex having good time & a montage of ML and his ex(turns out the guy not his ex) having a good time.
Mix in with how the ML did not even look at girls or look into their eyes when communicating with them, I thought the guy was Gay and was very happy to see a gay character in Cdrama.

I even imagined the gay ML would turn Bi-sexual after meeting the FL and falling for her.

Turns out the ML was never gay and then the drama used the most insane & ridiculous reasons to show why a healthy, very rich, very handsome, very educated, very successful 28 year old having never dated or having never been attracted to a girl.
Imagine the drama portraying the ML as some one who never crushed on a girl until he meets the FL.

Would have preferred he was Gay and then turned into Bi than what ever shit they threw at us for ML being a Eunuch for all his life until he met the FL.

Hmmm if you go through the trailer they're going to keep staying together from epi 20 and above
My fav Cdramas are ones with strong romance like Ancient Love poetry, Love and Redemption, one and only etc.
The romance in these dramas are about developing the main leads feelings for each other. They did not use tricks to achieve it but relied on the story to reach to that point.

This drama is just throwing all the men in the drama as well as the kitchen sink at the FL to develop the romance, after some point it starts to feel like a shallow trick since the writers don't really know how to develop a meaningful romance.

It has a strong central story that is fantastic to watch though.

The trailers seem to be throwing more and more men into the romance. Sorry but the romance part started to feel bit repetitive and boring at some point.

Anyway, the main plot , the politics, the betrayals and smart villains are pretty developed and intriguing.

They should have just gone full politics + Wuxia. The politics side of this drama is extremely captivating.

The romance is very under-developed and distracting.
It was pretty cute for few episodes but then just got repetitive going no where and frankly at times it's starting to feel like a Harem drama than a historical Wuxia.

I have watched BP and the FL is exactly how i explained. If not, please explain the interactions between the FL and the guy she loves through out the drama. In fact, show one scene in BP which showed FL and her 'friend' actually being friends and not two people in love with each other.

The example of BP is important since it's a reply to the original post in regards to the ML drawing boundaries.
Just trying to show that in this drama, the ML does not need to set boundaries...yet.
BP was an example where the FL did not set boundaries even after getting together with the ML when interacting with the other guy whom she is in love with.

In fact in BP, the FL is an example of how NOT to characterize a lead in any drama. She and her 'friend' were pretty much having an emotional affair through out the drama. Hence the last episode where she says she loves the guy and needs space since she is with another guy.

Only after watching BP did it strike me that the best way to hide an affair is saying you are 'friends'.

Hyun Jae is so frustrating to watch lol he is exactly the kind of guy I don't like. Even though he says he knows…
Partially agree with what you are saying.

The ML clearly needs to draw a line. The ex is manipulating him. The guy is a lawyer and he needs to see what's happening and draw a line.
but he is not with FL or has not developed feelings for her. Whatever is happening between him and his ex has nothing to do with FL at this point.

the usual FL in asian dramas continue to have dodgy relationships with men even after they get together with the ML. Take Business Proposal as example, the FL confesses her love to another guy in the final episode, after she has sex with ML.

If the ML in the drama has sex with the FL and then goes to his ex and confesses his love or keeps going to her, meeting her, drinking with her, dining with her and has cute moments with her, then there is a case for what you said.

In asian dramas, the ML once they are in love with FL, they are pretty set. They may doing some stupid things but there will not be another girl.
the FL, in number of dramas has guys who she will continue to have weird relationships through the drama, even after she is with the ML.
Take Business proposal as example, the FL and the guy she loves are supposed to be friends but there is not a single scene in the drama that shows their friendship. Every scene of them points to them being in love with each other in each and every episode. FL has the ML as boyfriend and the other guy has a GF, still they have dodgy relationship right through the drama in the name of friendship.

Asian dramas usually have FL and multiple ML. There is always a second ML syndrome, never second FL syndrome.
Haven't watched them.

Started watching Korean and Chinese dramas since a little over a year.

Have seen many asian dramas with 2ML, 3ML or 4ML syndrome
but never had a 2FL syndrome.

in fact, in Chinese and to some extent Korean dramas, the ML never has any meaningful interactions with any woman except the FL to even begin to have a syndrome. In most cases, the supposed 2FL is pretty much evil or has a screw loose. The ML usually treats the 2FL like dog shit and does not even give them as much as a glance.
the FL interactions with the men in dramas are more fleshed out, cute and interesting to imagine them being together.

Those were 3 excellent episodes.

Both leads are very likable but the ML shines just a tiny bit more. His character is infectious & one can see why the FL is drawn to him.

This drama has awesome first episodes, cute & fluffy middle and couple of good episodes at the end to tie up the series.

I really can't help but compare how bad BP was in terms of story telling compared to this.

By the end of this drama, you know why Gojin and Shina have fallen in love.
You are convinced they are in love & the character development for the ML was made possible by the FL.
The drama shows you clearly why Gojin fell in love with the FL. It was organic, formed the core of the story and was central to theme of Gojin becoming who he is by the end.
This drama focused on the characters development rather than silly comedy for cheap laughs(not that there were no laughs here, there were plenty).
And thank god the ML, who is the CEO does not forget he is the CEO and behaves that way. Through the drama, even with heavy character development, the core of his dominating personality remains. In the last episode you still see a dignified dominating man who holds a responsible position but now he is empathetic to others around him and appreciates their presence in his life.

What do you mean no strong reason for the ML to like the FL?!

he is the typical Asian Drama handsome virgin CEO.
He sees a girl crying for another man, he must fall in love with the girl, he has no other option.
The moment our CEO saw the FL in extreme pain over another man is the moment he was smitten.

Haven't we watched enough CEO asian dramas by now to know exactly these guys fall in love?
