Modern drama actually worth watching!

I absolutely adore the modern drama " The Rational Life" on Netflix: What a pearl!
I usually don't watch modern dramas because they either turn too unrealistically dramatic or they're simply boring with their office work. But this one is soo wholesome and reflective of society. It reminds me a bit of the book 'Kim JiYoung, born 1982' in its way of portraying societal struggles for women. On top of that we have a slowly developed romance between the FL, Qin Lan, and the ML, Dylan Wang, which starts out as a friendship and builds up. I really enjoy this set-up of a romance drama.

Furthermore, all side-characters presented gets their story told. They don't get too much screen time in comparison to the main couple, like in other dramas, but at the same time they don't get too little time to develop their storyline; a storyline that is actually worth watching as well. I particularly love the storyline of the childless couple, the female lead's best friend and her husband, because it is so rare that such a story gets told.

My overall score is 10/10, despite the music and rewatch value was deemed lower. Personally, those two categories aren't my most important ones. Yes, a great OST can enhance the experience, but an awful storyline will forever be an awful storyline no matter if the music is great or not. And for the rewatch value: sometimes dramas should only be watched once; this is one of them. I might go back to find some life quotes and scenes with the side couple, but that's the only thing. I wouldn't like to destroy the wonderful feeling I had when watching this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama! I was a bit set back at first by the daughter's demeanour, since she seemed like the opposite of her mother. However, as the story continued, her complex character developed and left the audience with a surprised face. The love story was a bit hasty, though, but it was perfect for a 6 episode drama. What happened in episode 5 and 6, however, was what caught me off guard. The genre changed completely, and it was then obvious to me, that it was these 2 episodes that were the main plot event. Everything before was just to introduce the setting and the new characters.

So if you were a fan of the first drama, you will most definitely not get disappointed with this one!

I am not kidding! I pulled an all nighter on this one... and I'm not even a huge jdrama fan! I got hooked by the first episode and the rest was history. It was entertaining and had a lot of character development in a perfect pace. What I loved the most about it was the fact that you didn't know who she'd end up with, right up until the last 15 min or so.

We are not all perfect and everyone makes mistakes; that's the overall theme of the drama, which was beautifully conveyed! And then the cherry on top was really just that she ended up with the one I rooted for ;)

Go and watch it - it never gets old!

I bench watched this over the timespan of two days! I simply couldn't stop watching! This is one of those true-to-life dramas, which I truly admire. I loved the way that you get to see Yu Huai and Geng Geng develop through normal Chinese high school problems. This is not just a lovey-dovey drama, but a drama which you will have some kind of connection to society wise. It not only shows the teenage years but all the way to adulthood. And even though the lead couple had a remarkable chemistry, what got me mos emotional was the last episodes. It shows that you cannot have all of your future planned, there will always be obstacles - wether you create them yourself or not. WhyI didn't get the story part 10 stars, was because of the fact, that I felt the ending was a bit rushed. I would at least wanted five episodes more, to show how they developed without each other. But All in all, loved it! You get easily touched by it. So go watch it!

This is one of my all time favorite movie! I've watched it maybe... 5 times! An each time i find something new!
I wouldn't say this is a horror movie, because you don't exactly feel scared when watching it. I felt mostly sadness and frustration, hoping for all of them to make it in the end. Everything happens unexpected and therefore you cannot look away. Time flies by and therefore it will come as a big surprise when the movie ends. For 2 hours, my heart kept beating in a quick pace even until the last minute! It's such a beautiful story, not only a plain zombie movie. The actors played their part unbelievable well, from the little child to the halmonies - even the zombies played their part exceptionally! This is a movie I will always watch again and again, so go watch it if you haven't! It's marvelous!
