It had an interesting story and was cute but just never quite had me super invested. Also the rushed ending was a bit of a disappointment and had our leads acting quite out-of-character (and this is coming from the girl who always roots for romance). It’s not that I didn’t like it...I just felt like it fell short of its potential. Still worth a watch, and the fact that it is quite short makes it a breeze to marathon.
Average at best. Had some cute moments and Park Seo Jun of course but it felt really vintage...like it was from the 2009 era of dramas instead of 2014. I stuck it out but it wasn't really worth it.
It was alright. Certainly started out with a lot of momentum that just petered into over-used plot cliches. I liked the characters a lot, just wish the story had been better.
I'm a fan of all Rainie's dramas since Devil Beside You and I believe--other than DBS--Drunken to Love You tops that list. This drama was a wonderful surprise and it was so easy to watch that you will blow through it in no time and wonder where all the episodes went. I hear that this drama was created by the same team behind Fated to Love You and I frequently felt FtLY vibes while watching it (that's a good thing)! But, instead of taking a wrong turn about 3/4th of the way through like FtLY unfortunately did, this drama remains consistent and entertaining... I only gave it 8.5/10 just because there's not a whole lot of excitement and still a little bit too much of ridiculous silly every now and then (not to mention too much time spent on side characters) for me to give it a full 10. But that doesn't mean it's not a great watch and just as enjoyable!
Cute and funny. I don't bother watching many Japanese dramas lately since they don't seem to pull me in as much anymore as they used to but Zenkai Girl was one of the few I stuck with this past summer season (that it aired) and I'm glad I finished it. Although it is nothing really new or exciting, it is full of heart and has a certain charm that keeps you watching more. Probably, you will be able to guess how the plot will play out from the get-go but it is HOW it gets there that makes it entertaining. Plus? It always managed to put a smile on my face...in my opinion, that's all it takes to make a decent drama worth watching ^___^
Breezy and easy to watch (just like the other Flower Boy dramas) but I never developed a strong emotional attachment to any of the characters. It's forgetful but worth a one time watch just for the bits of cute and stress-free plot.
This drama is awesome. It always made me feel so good! Plus, despite how plots like these (someone is dying) typically tend to be melodramatic, SOAW is very funny and charming. I only gave it a 8.5 instead of a 10 because later episodes loose a bit of that, even though it is still really good...I just wasn't as crazy about it as I was initially...However I still totally recommend watching! And don't be intimidated by the "cancer" theme, it is unlike k-dramas of that genre and it DOES have a good ending.
Love 020 was an original take on a classic (overused) campus romance: often misunderstood girl meets attractive, popular boy-genius and they fall in love. Only here, the girl is a smart “department beauty” studying engineering and she meets the boy while playing an online MMORPG. The production did a cool spin here too where whenever the characters are playing the game they dramatize it. These slightly different tweaks on what would have otherwise been a story we’ve seen time and again are what make Love 020 stand out.
The chemistry between the leads was great and I love how much they always trusted each other. Petty misunderstandings do not get in the way of their relationship and only stand to make it stronger. This seemed way more realistic to me for two people in love rather than to have them immediately doubt each other. What a great couple!
Wei Wei’s best friend did annoy me to pieces though. She was very immature and annoying to the point where I couldn’t really root for her side romance she had going on there. I definitely could have done without that.
Over-all I thought this drama was very cute and sweet. I don’t think I will go back and re-watch it (I will probably revisit certain scenes though) but I would still 100% recommend it if you are looking for a good campus romance drama.
Cutting right to the chase: this drama sucked. It should be called "Why Does Tae San Cry Today?" instead of "Two Weeks." Seriously.
The plot was weak and at times flat out dumb. I know that sounds mean but I've watched a few of this writer's other dramas and I honestly can't believe it's the same person. She is capable of so much more than this.
You know your story is flawed when the smartest character in the entire drama is the 8-year-old girl. I've watched this with my friend and we decided logic does not exist in Two Weeks Land.
Actually, I'm not even sure why we finished. I suppose if you don't like a drama you don't have to watch it, right? I think we were just so mind blown that it could be so bad and though it HAD to get better.
If you're looking for some tight writing, action, and intriguing plots look elsewhere. If you just want to watch Lee Jun Ki be the biggest self-pitying crybaby ever, this is for you.
Cute and sweet...by far my favorite drama of Eric's, although his character was a little bland. This show has THE BEST parents ever. The scenes with Hae Young and her mom are all priceless....and her dad, omg. So adorable. Plus, this drama gets my vote for the cutest, most-awkward supporting couple. I haven't laughed so much in a long time.
Some of my favorite things here were Hae Young's reactions, and how she so vividly expressed her feelings throughout the show. In particular I remember a scene when she was in the bathroom, chanting to herself that what she did wasn't embarrassing and such...only to break down and whine "It's sooo~ embarrassing." Because let's be real...love is full of embarrassment, acting childish, and just being miserable at times...and we've all been there. But despite that, Hae Young never hesitates to toss her pride aside in following her heart and I admire that so much. Great show!
I don't know when it happened, exactly, but somewhere down the line my initial love for this drama dwindled to mere interest.
Don't get me wrong, I thought the acting and plot were both pretty amazing. There is also some great editing and music to throw into the mix. And I also felt the plot did fairly well balancing action, humor, and romance. I just. I don't know.
When talking to my friend (a fellow drama viewer) she described her own detachment from this drama being when it shifted and instead of focusing on the relationship between our leads, it focused on Getting The Bad Guy. Granted, both were present during the entire series, but the central focus of this drama seemed veer more on the side of 'how-the-king-becomes-a-good-king' and not 'how-the-king-fell-in-love'. I don't really know how to explain it but it's like the romantic tension was so on fire and then someone just threw water on it. And that made the otherwise really interesting and exciting plot just dull in comparison (anyone else feel the chemistry just fizzle and die?). It simply couldn't live up to it's earlier episodes.
I do think that the plot had some obvious flaws (and some over-the-top dramatic moments) but was otherwise really well crafted. I love how the core issue behind the series was the North/South conflict. This worked great because it is really an issue in Korea and provides lots of meaty material for a drama series, especially when you throw in a fictional monarchy and, oh yeah, Lee Seung Gi.
So I really did enjoy the story. I just wish I had been more in love with it in the end.
I wanted this drama to end happily, with Lady Go Ae Sin and Eugene together, yet this sad end executed so well…
Hahaha right? That second time they they tried to make us think he died I was like "You won't fool me again!" Third time might a charm though...
Also, I'm not sad that Eugene died because I was totally expecting it...but man, he did NOT have to die the way he did. He could have shot the bolt loose of the train but still stayed in the same car as Ae Sin. The Japanese might have still shot at him (though he could have used the other guy as a shield) but at least he would have stood a chance. I dunno, it seemed like they could have done that better and it was all just for emotional impact with very little logic.....
ZOMG LOVE. At this point I'm fairly certain that Park Seo Jun can do no wrong. Gawd *fans face*
To be honest I put off watching this since for some reason I thought it was going to be boring and riddled with angst. I have no idea what gave me that impression...maybe a bad synopsis I read somewhere. Finally I caved though and I'm so glad I did. While parts of the story are a little eye-roll worthy, for the most part this drama was genuine and sweet, full of characters worth rooting for and falling in love with. Gonna miss it dearly!
This gets my vote for most ridiculous k-drama of 2011...possibly ever. No wonder the lead actress quit and left the country mid-way, she probably heard the writers talking about what was going to happen and freaked out. I would too! Well, I'm glad that she did return and I am so proud of the rest of the cast for soldiering on (especially poor Erik) despite the crazy loops this plot went through.
What is really sad is that it started out so good. Despite the fact that many viewers may argue the plot had issues to begin with (and I won't say it didn't) the story was still enjoyable. It was funny and entertaining with great chemistry from the leads. And then...it was like the writers ran out of ideas and just wen't crazy. That's the only thing I can think of. In the end, Spy Myung Wol would of made a much better movie than a drama. You can pretty much fit anything important that happened in this show into and hour and a half and throw away the rest.
The final verdict: don't bother. It's not worth your time, even if you love and adore Erik (as I do).
And what was up with the ending, anyway? Uge. I don't even want to know.
This drama is like a piece of candy: it looks good, it tastes good, you can't really stop at just one piece...but you regret consuming all those extra calories when it's over.
Although the cast is amazing and the plot was moderately entertaining, I don't feel like I came away from this drama with anything. In fact, it is mostly forgettable at best. And although I wouldn't call Sengyoushufu Tantei a "bad" drama I can't necessarily deem it "good" either; hence the 7 rating. What it all boils down to is that I sorta want all the time I spend watching it back. Please?
This is one of those dramas where I rated it higher than it probably deserves simply because I love it despite all of its flaws. The story is lovely and moving, though and times it draaaaaagged (I suppose that’s to be expected due to its length). To be fair, for such a long drama it did manage to stay interesting throughout. I would say the interesting-to-drag ratio remained consistent as opposed to some shows that start off with a bag and Peter out later on (not the case here).
I loved how the layers of stories all fit in together. It was interesting to have a heroin who was both strong and powerful and at the same time timid and somewhat of a push-over (made it all the more satisfying when she came back as herself to kick ass). The soundtrack was great and so fitting. The scene where Su Su walks to the tower with the song playing in the background still gives me goosebumps (SUCH a well done scene). The graphics were alright…pretty good for a TV show but definitely fake-looking most of the time. I do feel like a lot of the characters did not get a satisfying conclusion (in particular: Mo Yuan) but it was just SO sweet I don’t know how you could watch this drama and not fall in love with it.
I was finally able to finish this...what started out as a nice, breezy, good-feeling drama quickly turned sour about half way through. Instead of 20, this should of been 16 episodes. I really wish it hadn't become such a train wreck because I would of loved it otherwise. The characters deteriorate into unlikable people, and there was way to many "WTH" moments later on for me to even look past certain flaws. Well, anyway, there ARE worse drama but I still don't recommend watching this one, either.
This drama was super cute! This was only my second time watching a Thai drama so I’m still getting used to the language and the style but I really enjoyed it…such a sweet story! Also, Push is unreal…his acting was fantastic and Suea felt like a genuine person as opposed to how these stories typically portray their male leads (beautiful and perfect). Suea WAS beautiful and perfect but he also had a personality. I loved how he teased and played with Junior and how their relationship developed so naturally. The last two episodes or so left me feeling a little annoyed, mostly because I did not understand why Junior kept turning Suea away. At first it was because she wasn’t sure he was serious and I get that, but after a while I was kinda more on Suea’s side when he got angry with her. If the writer was using the excuse that Suea was “poor” as the reason Junior choose to let him go then I don’t really buy it…that’s totally out of character for her and makes her no better than anyone else. She did kind of mention thinking that they were just “too different” as well but again—that only goes so far. Anyway, other than that flaw in the writing this drama was short and sweet…totally worth the watch!
The chemistry between the leads was great and I love how much they always trusted each other. Petty misunderstandings do not get in the way of their relationship and only stand to make it stronger. This seemed way more realistic to me for two people in love rather than to have them immediately doubt each other. What a great couple!
