Question for those who have read the book: Do we get more of an explanation for the ending there? I’m a little confused by it…he meets Jin Mi 500 years later but was she human? Or not? Later it seems like she was her immortal self again, or at least had her memories…was she just going through another trial? It was really confusing. AND ALSO I’M PISSED WE DIDN’T GET ANOTHER KISS. And there was just like…no time spent with them finally together in the end. I’m hoping maybe the book dishes out these things and has a more satisfying conclusion? Thoughts? Also, where can I find an English translation? XX
I agree and I think you were too kind with your rating XD I pretty much disliked Yui with all her selfish decisions…
Yeah I mean, quality wise it’s probably more like a 4 to me but I boosted it up because there were other elements o enjoyed. Plus I had to keep reminding myself that Yui was so young and when I was her age I would have probably been as easily infatuated and rash as she was. It’s just, her poor family though....
Cute, sweet, easy to watch...but it does that *thing* Japanese dramas like to do where it wastes too much time on these little subplots concerning characters I just don't care about. I wanted more of Minami and Chiyomi...!! But overall it was an enjoyable enough watch.
It had it's sweet moments and I did enjoy it overall but it just never quite captivated me. I liked the characters and the little twist there in the plot but I wanted more from it. Given it's short length, it's definitely worth a watch though when you want a cute little rom-com.
Has some cute and sweet moments but was also full of overtly cheesy moments and cliches. Not bad, but very much in line with this type of shoujo manga live-action (which depending on the mood you're in, might be just what you're looking for...I was).
I wanted to like this, I missed Lee Ji Ah and was happy to see her again and in fact the whole cast was pretty…
No kiss but there is another hug and kinda hints that they are together. He is definitely still a ghost though but I guess he can control himself now so he can still use all of his abilities without becoming an evil spirit somehow. It’s a cute albeit cheesy ending.
Did anyone else experience the sound cutting out a few times in the last episode? It seemed to be while a song was playing...and I noticed another show doing this recently as well...ideas as to what’s going on??
Gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in the most recent twist. It feels like a cop out and it really doesn't make…
In the interview posted a few comments down below with the writer she talks about the different rules. A lot can be lost in translation but from what I gathered from her explanation the spirit only has to return to the body when it is the body is weak or "calls" it. So I think at first, he didn't have to return to his body because he was doing okay but only started to when he began to regain consciousness. I also vaguely remember some conversation concerning evil spirits and that could have something to do with it too, since he's not as "pure" anymore.
Also the fact that he's actually alive *now* makes me even more nervous. This would have been great at the end but only half way through worries me. There is still plenty of opportunity for him to die, and I'm assuming given the end of the most recent episode he's not going to be waking up any time soon. We've yet to really see the "consequences" of him touching objects and interfering with the human world so I doubt it will be wrapped up so nicely as to him being back in his body and a-okay...lol...*cries*
LOVED IT! It had a fairly predictable plot but still packed a significant emotional punch at the big reveal. So cute. So sweet. Carries with it all that nostalgia of first love. Wonderfully written and the acting was superb. A+!
Oh man...creepy and grisly. It is not easy to watch. And it was even harder for me to see my beloved Lee Jong Suk in this role (kuddos to him for playing it well though). It did have a solid plot that was interesting but I found it kind of hard to keep up with. Extremely satisfying ending though, so that made it all worth it!
Cute but you will feel like you’ve seen this move many times before if you are familiar at all with Korean cinema. Nothing that original and quite boring at times…I did love Cha Tae Hyun’s character’s inner-monologue (it’s hilarious) but other than that it was pretty “meh.” Worth a watch when you’re in the mood for a traditional Korean romance/drama film.
This was such a sweet movie that definitely hit home at times. Though it could be unrealistic, I really liked Sayaka's character...she was super relatable and I was totally behind rooting for her success. Itsuki was sweet and adorable...although I didn't necessarily understand his motives for just disappearing without even talking to Sayaka (to go "find himself" apparently)...and then everything getting so quickly resolved in the end...I get it, it's a movie. That was my only issue. Otherwise: it was very good!
So pretty...and Yang Yang is great. I can totally see why people are completely lost though if they didn't watch the drama/haven't read the novel. There was just way too much to try and cram into one movie and still have it make sense. I still enjoyed it though.
Ah, this is one of the funniest movies. Years later I still chuckle thinking about it. It has a few dull moments but overall super hilarious and awesome. Loved it!

One of the best movies and certainly the best manga/anime live-action to date. Can we get Otomo Keishi do to more remakes please??
