Wow mayu is nominated for both best actress and best supporting actress. I really think her performance in tremble all you want is her best, though it was just an ok movie. Ofcourse ando sakura should have won, that interrogation scene in shoplifters is the climax of that movie. In terms of acting skills no one can touch her in Japan. RIP kirin kiki, I still remember her comments about idols in Japan, I hope mayu learned something from her.
I highly recommend one cut of the dead, a hidden gem, just watch it and if the beginning bore you just give it atleast 30 mins.
At least this one has plot and the message is clear unlike antiporno. I love the atmospheric vibe too like the camera shots and the cinematic shots. Great acting from all the cast not just Aoi Yu and Takahata Mitsuki. It's the type of movie that won't make sense at the beginning but at the end you will realize and say oh sh*t wait what a great film.

I don't know if I totally understand this movie but this is what I get from it. I know Sion sono is known for using his movies to give his opinion about certain issues like capitalism, war, suicide, familial bond or even modern cinema. In Anti-Porno he uses the entire movie as a canvass to convey his thoughts about modern feminism around the world especially Japan. I don't even know if this movie has a plot lol because it doesn't make sense to me, it looks like he just wants to reiterate the same message for 1 1/2 hour. Probably the most art-house film I've ever watched.
"Very complex character that I imagine most young actress would fail to portray."I'd disagree. While Elaiza has…
I said most young actress, I'm not talking about particular age group. I still see many young actress that would struggle playing such role. Ikeda just surprised me because I though she's just an ok actress before. BTW long time no see, I thought you also quit MDL like most people I know.
HAHAHA I imagine hamabe with sock in his mouth. I think the over acting is intended thoguh cause I know hamabe is capable actress like her portrayal in I want to eat you pancreas, but then I agree it's definitely one of the most exaggerated acting I've seen in any movie.
To call that puppy love a true love is a bit of a stretch, not enough development to level it up to true love. Very fun drama though , you just need to get used to Hamabe's exaggerated acting, you should know what I mean if you watched manga-ish type of movies before . Overall a sweet and fun drama, not so fast paced, and it ends with a stamp on Minami Hamabe's face.
Come on from the director and scriptwriter of genius comedy shows such as Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!, Yuusha Yoshihiko to Michibikareshi Shichinin, Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store, Aoi Honoo, HK: Forbidden Superhero & Gintama. Also with that crazy plot and sometani and matsuyama playing jesus and Budda, why no one subbing this?
The problem with this movie is the story has been told many times already, rise and fall of a drug dealer like how many times movies has shown that. The acting is superb though and nothing to be surprised here given the cast are top notch.
fun interview with the director.
