I love how two common tropes from countries such as Japan and Philippines blended naturally together to create a very philosophical theme in the end. The movie is not that hard to follow especially if you are interested in the subject the pacing is very good.
Episode 4 is very good what a masterpiece I watch jdramas for something like that. If this continues this would be my best jdrama this year beating brush up life.
Agree. I'd say this is not a romantic drama but a realistic drama. And I guess people can come up with their own…
This type of Japan drama just value substance over style that's why people who are not used to it usually hated it. Unlike other romantic dramas romance was not meant to make your heart flutter, no piggy back ride or a girl chasing the bus scenes (well there is one similar scene and that's why it almost fooled me) it will always go for the realism and whether your ship will sail or not they will not give af.
They just gave us more michi makoto scenes to make us root for them to fool us but do we really know what the female lead feels? I read there will be an SP and it would be about the 9 months before the ending.
The last time I got bamboozled by the ending is in the drama Love Song. I really thought it would be michi makoto end game but just like in real life it doesn't matter what you want, what is right, there are many couples that should not be together that are together and whether it would work is up for them. I guess that's the open ending here their relationship, will it fix their relatioship or just end up like that coffee shop owner. I still like this drama though for the fact that they really nail the theme perfectly and that's the most important but since most are here for the romance I understand the hate since their ship didn't sail lol.
It's your typical Japanese movie that challenges social norms and gender roles if you've seen one the setting is similar. A very interesting lead character and it seems Toko Miura was tailored for this role, Atsuko Maeda is surprisingly good here too and there's a surprise cameo by Takumi Kitamura at the end and I must say what an important character for the movie. If you love Koisenu Futari I really recommend this one this would feel familar.
Though it's very slow it's still nice to see a drama that derails from your typical jdrama formula it is one of those. Last minutes of episode 1 got me hooked after that next episodes are just breeze to watch. A potential hidden gem for this murakami-esque drama.
Imagine An unknown man approach you out of nowhere , and there no people around and it's dark ( my soul might…
Yakuza boss will held a singing contest and the loser will cut his finger. Ayano gou's character is a bad singer and the kid is a choir leader so he will ask the kid to be his coach. It could be just your absurd fun drama or Nogi Akiko could insert her commentary in some parts and that made me curious about this drama.
Tour de force acting from Yoshida Yoh, that last act was superb, the shots, the editing, the theme, cinematography and acting, it's really quite an experience. The opening may bore but just stick with it the build up was worth it.
This drama really got superb execution the song is so addicting too. Long silence moments which you usually only see in indie movies might be the new trend for jdrama and I love it. I don't think we will get Hirugao ending here.
apparently the film won the queer palm award at the 76th Cannes film festival? idk if this is a spoiler since…
Yeah wouldn't be surprised sakamoto yuji had those themes in his dramas. I hate for potential spoilers tho lol impact might be less since I knew it already .
It's actually nothing new the theme is quite similar to Hirugao the director is the same too. The music and the editing is what I like it's very smooth to watch the execution is very good. The writing gives me that old school romance Jdrama vibe. It has very good acting overall but Nao is carrying this show for me she got serious dramatic chops and at times exhibits her trademark weird acting which is fun to watch. I also like Sato Honami's character atleast she's knows what she wants and aware of her sins lol. Lastly like in any controversial stories you don't have to agree to enjoy it.
Actually I saw once in a YouTube video that it's normal for women to cheat on their spouses and that women are…
That video was created for views. Seriously the glorification of Japan and the dark side of Japan these contents on youtube are both exaggeration. Japan is not a heavenly place but it's also not place full of immoral people. If cheating are normalize then we won't see celebrities getting cancelled for doing it.
