I agree that making him a security guard there wasn't a smart solution if he had a criminal record. A fake identity at least would have made more sense like you said. Or they could have just made him a rando loitering around the building if they truly had to have him there.

In ep 27 Sang Yan did confront Yi Fan about her decision to runaway. He pretty much said that her disappearance destroyed his world (although i agree she could have been more emotional when she heard this bit)
True, i agree that if you aren't happy how they deviated from the novel, you shouldn't be forced to go through the scenes "just because".
The uncle's arc is pretty much over now, so if you are interested, you can skip the episodes and continue from episode 29 onwards as they probably will go back to the original plot ☺️

Noticed that a few viewers were disappointed that Sang Yan accepted WY Fan back without any hesitation but throughout today's episodes there were subtle nods to show that SY did not discount his own pain. He didn't sugarcoat it when he told Yifan that her disappearance "destroyed" his world.
Even during their WeChat text montage, one of the first messages they showed was how SY admitted to WYF that he was mad that she didn't tell him anything but also was mad at himself for not trying harder to know her.
TBF Sang Yan did the best he could by even getting the police involved and WY Fan contacted Qiao to let everyone…

But I do understand your frustration. I haven't read the novel but knowing how poulat it is, it must hurt abit to see changes like this 🙈
If it helps, some of the changes you pointed do still happen albeit executed in a different way.
