Thanks for the heads-up because I honestly thought there's no ep's until next Monday! Hurray..hurray!! Guess I'm staying up then. =)

Wow, ep 9 was so intense and got me sitting on the edge of my seat. The little girl really deserves an award for her stellar performance. She even cried with stringy snot!! Ep. 10 was too heavy and just difficult watch. I also really appreciate the curated music and scores in the series, as well as the nicely usage of sound effects.

Ep 28, got some nice directing scenes and cuts. I enjoyed how the director shoot the scene of ML's guards overcoming Prince Xian's men at the cooking competition. Prince Xian's men were slaughtered with ease in plain sight yet discreetly, in sync with the food prep. The scene in which the single droplet of blood caught in the palm to ensure a clean kill without giving evidence away was just toooo awesome. Love this director.

Really like how observant ML is, not to mention his deduction skills are amazing.

Strangely addictive thanks to the intelligent and capable ML and the smart, little girl.

Grandfather Hua is a wise scholar with deep integrity and highly moral. Minister Hua is known in court for giving the truth straight to your face. It’s been understood that through the years his ethically correct advises are disregarded by the Emperor as they are not aligned with the Emperor’s intentions. Thus Minister Hua slowly takes a silent stance with a semblance of a tired adult parent who finally gives up on an uncontrollable and cocky teenager. The Emperor takes deep offense through Minister Hua’s silence in court over the Emperor’s ways of conducting political matters because it implicitly downplays the Emperor’s authority while indirectly makes him look like an uneducated and unvirtuous fool. Seeing Minister Hua is akin to having a constant reminder he did something wrong, so the Emperor removes Hua family from court. It is as simple as that. He simply feels offended.

HZ's 4th uncle is so awesome.

General Wu also cracks me up.

It’s so nice to see how much confidence grandpa and little uncle has in HZ. Grandpa just knows it has to be her. He understands her so well. Love the tight bond.

I was hoping for more backstory with Lord Ling. It just doesn’t feel right he was killed off just like that. What a disappointment this arc didn’t have a better closure. I don’t mind that he passed, just that the execution felt flat.

I can't wait!!! I love JHI.

It's only ep 17, so I know there MUST be more to the story than what's shown so far between the Emperor and Lord Ling. It can't be that simple....

The emperor is oxymoronic and mercurial. It's difficult to tell his true intention.

He certainly has feelings for her. He's tasked with a lot of responsibilities from higher up along with investigating his mother's death. I think he's trying to prioritize matters, and that means, being in an open love relationship with her may not be a good thing at the moment although he's taken a liking to her.

I think he's a bit of both.

These epilogues are sooo damn cute.

ML is so hard to read. His face when she left after he said he sees her as a bosom friend in ep 14. Is it he likes her but doesn’t want to put her life at risk, or he’s new to the feeling and hasn’t quite grasp why he’s feeling bad and uncomfortable when she walked off, seeing that he may have hurt her feeling?

I suppose it’s a good thing we can’t read him because how else would he be able to fool the Emperor that he knows more than he shows.

Love it when Grandma asked ML to make a turn; just like checking out a livestock breed. Lol...=)

ML is actually the Emperor's son. The Emperor loved ML's late mother. Somehow the mother ended up marrying the younger brother.
