There are comments about ML making poor choices. Sometimes, there aren't good options to choose. Choice 1, get burned. Choice 2, get drowned. Choice 3, get shot.

ep. 9. So, who do you think ratted him out for taking the exam? Could it still be He Shan? So far, it seems like she hasn't done anything wrong. Could her image truly me that clean? What if she DID rat him out the first time which ruined his chance to have an education, and that's why she didn't want to rat him out the second time? Why did she report him the first time? Maybe so that he would lose his spot at the university, and she would get that spot instead? Hmmm...only 1 more ep. How would the finale be? I hope there's a good closure.

Each episode is so packed. Ep 8, the 0 point scene reveal is so good when EVERYONE except the father knows the true meaning of it all.

We also got a glimpse of seeing ML's bad side when he was out to mess things up for people he disliked; e.g., when he scratched out his brother's name on the test. The director did a great job in setting up the ominous tone.

I would have felt bad for the half brother and step mother, but after seeing the disposable plastic bowl and cup ML was using when he'd lived there for several years already, I have no sympathy for them.

LOVE the wild, wild west duel music chosen for the scene when the teacher and FL met the restaurant as she excused herself and walked out. It was very fitting as they draw duel it out. I've always liked the bgm's and scores used by this director.

I would be very pissed if there isn't a good explanation for FK's actions when this is finish. I, myself, would feel scammed by JBR and Youku.

He's really good in his more recent works such as Road Home and A League of Nobleman.

I had the same thought about who else would be able to pull it off because SOMEHOW I keep excusing FK for his schemes and horrible ways. I don't think JBR would take on a true villain role; a gray character, sure, but not one with unredeemable quality. Thus, I think an atrocity must have happened to FK.

I think he lost someone extremely dear to him, and the death(s) and/or suffering of this person/family was indirectly caused by his targeted victims.

I agree that if he's out for revenge and these people are targeted, then they are all linked to a specific event.

Just finished ep 6. It's so mysterious and everything is so unexpected. But...I can say that had Jing Bo Ran not cast in this drama, I wouldn't even have watched this far and with the intention of continuing to the end.

I LOVE Jing Boran! I haven't even started the drama. I hope this one is good.
