I think you missed the finer point. The Princess would wipe out Hua family if FL chose to be with the Lord. Since she lost her family once, she's doing everything she can to protect them, and that means not pissing the Princess off. As you can see, the Lord couldn't even protect her from the Princess.

So much is finally dumped on us in ep 27. Who would have thought (xxx) is behind it all? I certainly didn't expect that from (xxx). Now we know why HQ had always wanted to leave Zong Garden and tried to deny and fight her attraction to the Lord.

I haven't watched enough of Sebrina's work to see the similarity. I think I only watched 3 episodes worth of Maiden Holmes; and back then I hadn't come across Zhou Ye either, so there was no connecting the points from her. I'll be mindful to make the comparison if I watch any of Sebrina's future work.

While we're on the topic of discussing Zhou Ye looks like Zhang ZiYi, I also wanted to share that Wang Xing Yue/ZXW looks like Timmy Xu to me.

They're both pretty. I do think ZZY has a stubborn jawline with tight lips. Not sure if it's the way she speaks, but she seems like she's always biting her words or tensing the lower half of her face. =P

Yes, especially since HQ is such a strong character in Scent of Time, she's almost channeling Zhang ZiYi's persona from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Almost 99% sure HQ won't be with HRZ. In historical China, it's a taboo to be in a relationship/marriage with someone of the same last name. The writer would have given HRZ a different last name if he/she wanted him to have a chance with her. She cares for him as part of the "family", but definitely not amorously as a lover would.

Zhou Ye/HQ reminds me of a younger Zhang ZiYi, especially when she has her hair down center split.

All the characters in the drama who are not morally straight are most likely simulated by the game system. They are meant to be corrupted and unsavory characters so that Man'Er has to solve the problems assigned while navigating and handling these difficult characters who act as deterrent for each level of the game (mini-arc/story).
