By creating the fake edict, if 2nd Prince were to be the emperor, he would have killed the 1st Prince. If there's a small chance that 2nd Prince were incriminated for the fake edict, then he could be sentenced to death or tortured; which would have happened had LD not been there to protect the 2 younger princes.

I enjoy watching her as well. She really brings life to her character. I've watched enough dramas over the years that when it comes to female villains, I hate most of them instantly. Only a handful I find it hard to dislike, and Wang Li Kun's Princess Roujia being one of them. Why? Is it because of her backstory? WLK's credible acting? She made me think what would I have done if I were in her shoes. Would I also take matter into my own hands?

Everyone in court respects Lord Ding. His reputation as intelligent, fair, and loyal to South Chen is well known. I'm glad his voice of reason is able to clip the fight for the throne between the princes at the bud before it could potentially cause more internal chaos.

In this story, one of the founding ancestors was a female. She was Princess Roujia's great-grandmother, so women had some power instead of 100% patriarchal. Women just had to work extra harder to be in position of power instead of being handed to automatically.

I'm on. ep 2 and just got to the Elder Sister's exotic dance bit. I LOVE this character!🤣 She's my "must protect at all cost" person in this show. She obviously has the hot for the capable bodyguard, Jin Fan. They make a cute pair. 🥰

The Elder Sister is funny in ep 1 with the topless guards.🤣

I haven't seen his works before. It's so crisp and sharp, and I'm not referring to the 1080p quality. I don't mind the 24 eps honestly, esp if if it's well done. It may just not have as many sub-plots or arcs, that's all. Let's enjoy this one together along with The Legend of Zhuo Hua!! =)

Has it always been slated for 24 episodes? It makes me wonder whether much was edited and cut from the usual 40 episodes and if so, that would be a pity at the risk of loosing cohesiveness and coherence in storytelling. On the other hand, ep 1 seems so well made that I'm also thinking perhaps it's the director's style in being succinct and tight rather than using unnecessary fillers to lengthen the number of episodes.

Just finished Ep 1, and I'm super impressed!!! It has all the right elements to hook me in right from the start. Great production, execution, and direction. There isn't one wasted frame. So many nice angle shots paired with dark color scheme for that suspense feel. The ML gives off a dark Legalos vibe minus the bow and arrows, and yes, he's soooo fine. Instrumental sound effects are also intense. Overall, it feels like i'm watching a movie. So looking forward to chase this series now!!

I enjoy this forum, too. I was watching Lost You Forever prior to this and, oh my, so much aggression there which was sort of sad because exchanging views nicely over an entertaining drama would be so much more enjoyable. May the force be with us!🤪

Second and third princes are old and sane enough to rule without the help of a regent. Very interested to know how it's going to pan out because no matter how it's sliced and diced, there's no easy way to grab the throne from her position. She would really have to work some Houdini magic to steal it.

Although Princess Roujia helped move the Empress Dowager's plan along that killed 30K men, I feel she does want to do good to her nation and raises the living standard to the people including bringing equity to women. In ep 26 when she was conversing with the Dowager, the Princess did say that she wanted to be the ruler so that she could help more unfortunate souls, save more people, and make the country a better place.

I'm wondering the same. Did she or didn't she? Nothing about her is revealed until the last minute, so we would never know the truth.
