I read the entire translated novel last night. I was like… wow… the casting team really did a great job for having ZTAO as Lu Xun because his face keeps jumping out of the pages in many parts of the novel.

To me, it’s very good so far up to ep 10. Great storyline, great directing, great leads casting, great chemistry, great …EVERYTHING :).

My #1 criteria of a “great” drama is … am I chasing the series weekly like an addict? If yes, it’s already “great” in my book. And yes, I’m chasing it, I even went as far as reading the translated novel all in ONE night.

It’s THAT great.

It’s believed that she’s having intensely vivid dreams/hallucinations due to the medical treatment. It’s not time traveling in the drama UNLESS it’s a major deviation from the novel.

It’s so ingenious how the director shot the drama. I didn’t read the novel, but having learned what we’re seeing is how the FL’s brain processes the ML’s side of the story with hers to form the new “lens” presented to us.

He’s staying true to himself. This part is a giveaway that he’s been in love with her since college all the way to the present time while she’s his assistant.

Because he thought it’s a one sided infatuation ( his), he didn’t want to force his love onto her, but at the same time need to have her presence in his life, hence, as his assistant.

It’s so sweet yet angsty.

Past and present are interwoven, but so far mostly in the past.

I’m up to ep. 10 and I can’t help expressing AGAIN how much I’m enjoying the drama. So addictive!!

Whether it’s the author or the director or maybe both of them together working their artistic magic in revealing a little extra each time to the FL and us, it's drawing the viewers in. And with each time, she comes to learn more about the ML and that things weren’t as she had known. It’s sooooo refreshing and I just love it!!!

I wouldn’t be surprise the “wish” inside the ML’s bottle says something like “I wish she’s my gf/life partner.”

I’m so enjoying this series. They are so cute together.

ZTao isn’t classically handsome but he’s so captivating and charismatic. Totally alluring.

It’s so funny!! And totally a-la Cinderella style… down to him asking her if it’s her “slipper”. Hahaha!!!

This drama is sooooo funny!! I haven’t laughed this much over 2 just episodes. It’s so refreshing!! It’s on my watchlist now and every Monday and Tuesday will be my new favorite days of the week for the next 2 months.

This is the ORIGINAL and full version. The OST is like a stripped/copied version. The moment I heard the ost in episode 1, opening scene…. which is also the closing scene, I thought of the original version from IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE - Yumeji’s theme.

It’s a great show! Yes, there’s plenty of romance, and it’s realistic, mature, and angsty. If you’re looking for high-school lovely-dovey romance, this isn’t it. The romance many not be explicitly visual in every episodes, but you can feel the undertone and it’s a strong one. All I can say is, anyone who doesn’t feel the love and bond FL/ML have for each other, that viewer has a naive and rosy view of the world.

How did FL hurt his sister(s)? If anything, she saved ML's youngest sister when she was assaulted and implored to stay strong and continue living. I don't remember any scene when she hurt the older sister. As for hurting the ML, I also don't see her doing this intentionally. She saved him more than one occasion.

Since her goal is to bring down Mr. Rong's businesses, she tried to target just him and his unsavory business partner(s). Are you saying that she should not avenge all his wrong doings? (We wouldn't have City of Streamer then, and the show would have ended after 5 episodes). How else would she end his shady business? Should she just walk away and pretend nothing happened? That her father and mother weren't murdered? That she herself almost died? Not to mention what happened to her brother and adopted family.

She's righteous and principled. That's her moral compass.

I finished ep 38. They deserve each other.

Some viewers don't like the FL, claiming that she's out to hurt the ML. I don't see it that way at all. In the last few episodes, she's distancing herself from him, but that's because she's being realistic. Any sane person would understand that having a relationship given their current individual situations would be difficult. Can't viewers give her the benefit of doubt that she's doing this because she doesn't want to tag him along anymore? Do viewers just expect her to drop everything all of a sudden now that she's in love with ML? She's not foolish and that's why I like her. They love each other but time and place aren't right. That's why for them to "work", they have to be away from the current mess.

Why are people complaining about this drama and FL in particular? The show is so good and entertaining. FL's role is one of the best I've seen in a while: smart, strong, focused, has a backbone and integrity, self restrained, and much more positive traits not listed.

ML still deserves FL. I can't wait for them to "meet up" later and have their HEA.

Same here. Can't wait for the last two episodes. This is the only drama I've been chasing weekly. All other airing cdramas/kdramas got dropped because they were mediocre at best.
