OMG!! Ep 15 & 16 are sooooo amazing!!! Throughout the entire 2 hours, I was smiling, and funnily enough , feel PROUD of our Pan’er at the same time!

This drama is going to be one of my top favorites of all time. There is so much to praise about it that I don’t know where to start anymore. Such a heartwarming and feel-good show.
We all love the cute scene where GQF head rolled on the column. Yes, he’s a great actor because he even added the lip-biting, smile suppressing, eyes rolling act to show how smitten he was with Pan’er. How adorable is that from the Little Devil whose name alone strikes fear among the common people? Too adorable…

So many positive things to say about the drama. Just to name a few right off my head: strong and smart FL, nice scenery, authentic settings, soothing color grading, beautiful costumes, enjoyable storyline, women empowerment, slight humor, wise ML, SIZZLING chemistry, great acting, awesome directing, and it makes you root for the pair!! 😀

As much as I enjoyed WRTW, I find A Dream of Splendor to be one notch above WRTW. I think it’s the sizzling chemistry between the leads in ADOS that tilted the scale for me, but honestly, there are other minor wins over also.
I think she will end up with Shen ru zuo, too. The fact that GQF vetted his background and confirmed Shen is a decent guy is almost like a golden seal in vouching for his positive quality. And…. I think he would make a perfect pairing for YinZhang given their common interest in musical/artistic background.

Such a heartbreaking moment in ep 14 when Pan’er realizes and acknowledges to herself what she feels for GQF. Knowing her undesirable status in society and the main reason why she was jilted by Ouyang, she’s probably even more aware of the big gap in status between her and GQF as he’s even higher ranked than Ouyang.
It’s even more touching because the viewers now understand why Pan’er gives GQF the sudden cold shoulder after he plucks the flower off her head and escorts her back to the tea house. It’s because she can’t risk having her heart broken again by hoping for too much, and that is to marry someone of high status.
