I have really bad second-hand embarrassment for the brother 😂 He never achieved shit but keeps calling himself…
Well...some people feel they're all that because of entitlement; and in those days, they lived in a male dominant and patriarchy society. The brother already felt he's 100% better than He Yan simply because he's a guy. Sometimes there's no other reasonable explanation, but just got to roll your eyes and shake your head. 🤷♀️
I don't hate Chu Zhao. I don't like him either. I find some of the hate comments against him a bit too strong. So far, up to ep 26, from what we've been presented, he's loyal to the Emperor and wants to serve his Wei people. I feel he was a bit misguided and pledged his allegiance to the wrong Master too early in his political career. His soul is redeemable. He just needs to disentangle himself from Xu and choose a more righteous path.
Love today's scene (ep 26) when general Han Ye placed in hand on He Yan's shoulder, trying to poach her; and Xiao Jue told Han Ye to keep hands off his people. 🥰.
Genuine question for those who did NOT read the novel - are you still enjoying the drama? Is the story coherent…
I love it. I didn’t read the novel. I also purposely avoid major spoilers other than official preview as the show airs. What’s keeping on? The awesome chemistry between the leads and the fight scenes choreography. I like this director’s wuxia works, and this project carries his signature moves. I know it disappoints a lot of readers, but as a non-reader, I feel it’s a great watch overall . I have watched a lot of Cdramas. The cast also did a great job especially Chancellor Xu .
Up to the latest episodes and still enjoying this very much. Things are moving along with new characters introduction. Can’t wait for new episodes daily. Fight scenes continue to be awesome.
Got to say, I totally enjoyed the scene when Xiao Jue and Chu Zhao battled over who received the better sweet treats from He Yan. The one who got more candies or the one who got personally hand-made candy? 🤪
